FINAL THOUGHTS

Ok, so what did I think?

Well, I have been talking to Tranquil a lot about HSS over the last few months and I have been involved in testing various components with them, but this was the first time I had my hands on the latest build of the WHS add-in.

It was easy to install and to set-up. And in no time at all my files were being uploaded.

Yes, there are a few little things with it at the moment (and I have already spoken with Tranquil about them), but it is a beta, not the final product.

The whole point of this beta (and it is only running for a week or two) is that Tranquil want to test their back-end infrastructure and make sure it can cope.

So far I am very happy with it and will continue to stress it as much as I can.

Why not sign up for the beta yourself? Any interested beta testers should simply drop a line to  hssbeta5@homeserversync.co.uk they will get a download link and simple instructions, shortly after sending the email.

And as an extra incentive, Tranquil say:

As a token of our appreciation for the time you spend testing and providing feedback, HomeServerSync will give you 50% off the first years subscription of the full product, which includes the amazing VPN / SYNC module as well as 100GB of off site backup space.

When the final product is available, we will contact you with a coupon code to use, to claim your discount. You will have to backup at least 1GB of data to qualify, during the beta period (approx 10 days).

So what have you got to lose? Give it a try, give them some feedback and get a 12 month subscription half price!

Oh and we have something very special planned with Tranquil for release time – watch this space!

UPDATE: When you take out your subscription, use the Promo code U098 and instead of getting a 12 month subscription, you will get an extra 100 days free! So you will get 15 months for the price of 12 – now that is a good deal! See here for details.
