Review: Fights in Tight Spaces

The desire to be a badass secret agent is everyone’s guilty pleasure. Whether you are travelling the world or annihilating bad guys, it would never get old. Alongside this, you have super cool gadgets and some kick-ass martial arts training to unleash. Therefore, when I was given Fights in Tight Spaces to review, I couldn’t wait to experience this secret agent-inspired experience.

Developed by Ground Shatter and published by Mode 7, this is a deck-building title. What’s more, it has turn-based combat, rogue-like elements, and demands a tactical mindset. Moreover, it is wonderfully stylish, and it’s brutally hard as well. Consequently, you must plan your approach while hoping that luck and your cards are on your side.

Take that!

Fights in Tight Spaces makes you feel all-powerful.

What’s excellent about Fights in Tight Spaces is how empowering the action is. No matter how much you fail, and you will a lot, you always feel all-powerful, regardless of your errors.

You control a special agent for a top-secret corporation known as Section Eleven. These highly trained operatives risk life and limb to prevent terrorist threats. However, this is easier said than done, as every goon is out to get you. What’s more, success relies heavily on the luck of the draw. Subsequently, failure and frustration are all but assured in this tough but addictive, terrorist fighting strategy title.

Violence, environment, and a deck of cards.

The action plays out across multiple chapters. If you are familiar with Slay the Spire or Cult of the Lamb, the structure will be reassuringly comfortable. Effectively, the aim is to move from point A to B by following a branching pathway. En route, you’ll encounter special rooms for healing, shopping, or upgrading/exchanging cards. In between, each node acts as a standalone arena with unique goals and special foes.

The goal for each encounter revolves around violence, manipulating your opponents and the environment. You must utilise open spaces to move your foes while making the most of your surroundings. As such, balconies, walls, and tables are effective tools to kill your enemies. However, with many foes to tackle, making the right decisions isn’t easy.

Why use your fists when you can use your head?

Action points, combos, and your cards.

Though Fights in Tight Spaces is predominantly a deck builder, the turn-based combat and rogue-like mechanics complement the core concept. The hero has limited AP to use and must carefully select every move he makes. With 3 categories to choose from, you can create a plan with relative ease. You may either attack, move, or block/counter. However, it wasn’t so straightforward as each card unleashes different effects on your foes. Consequently, you must consider this as well as your opponent’s strengths and weaknesses.

Alongside this, there is your combo meter to fill, your environment to be aware of, and you know exactly what your opponent will do during their turn. Accordingly, you can use this information to your advantage as you balance every element, as well as the cards in your hand.

Talking of cards, you are free to upgrade, buy, and swap out your base deck as much as you wish. By doing this, you can increase your chances of survival and extend each run that bit further. However, you still need plenty of luck to be successful.

Fights in Tight Spaces is simplicity personified.

Superhot was adored for its simple but stylish approach. Fortunately, Fights in Tight Spaces follows suit with its silhouetted protagonists, striking cutscenes, and interesting stage design. Moreover, I admired how the strategy elements evolved based on the traps and pitfalls of each level. On top of this, the basic animation worked perfectly with the simple character models and the minimalist colour palette.

The audio complemented the action with its varied but dramatic soundtrack. Alongside this, I cherished the booming sound of each shotgun blast, the rasping noise of a pistol being fired, and the bone-crunching sound of each punch and kick. In short, the audio captures the theme and brutality without being OTT or crass.

Can you keep the ambassador alive?

Excellent controls.

Who’d have thought such a high-energy idea would be improved by the slow and methodical nature of the deck-building genre? However, Fights in Tight Spaces makes it work. With an excellent tutorial and an amazing control layout, this is easy to pick up but wonderfully tough to master.

Rogue-like gaming and replay value go hand-in-hand. Accordingly, Fights in Tight Spaces has longevity and replay value. With plenty of chapters to complete, and the ability to watch every battle on completion, there is plenty to see and do. My only complaint is that there is potentially too much reliance on luck, which is frustrating. As such, at times you can have a powerful deck of cards, make the right moves, and still fail. Consequently, this will test your patience and resolve to the limits.

Fights in Tight Spaces took me by surprise.

This genre is saturated and there are some remarkable titles to experience. Accordingly, I didn’t expect Fights in Tight Spaces to impress. However, its interesting style, dramatic story, and combination of mechanics took me by surprise. Yes, the element of luck frustrated me, as did the level of difficulty, but this also made it rewarding and moreish. Subsequently, I loved it and I recommend that you buy it here! Can you make the perfect plan and tackle every threat? Pick your cards, study your environment, and pray that luck is on your side.

Review: Bittle Open-source Bionic Robot Dog from Petoi

Here is our review of the Bittle Open-source Bionic Robot Dog from Petoi.

Small but agile, Bittle is a powerful robot that can be programmed to walk, do tricks and roll around just like a real dog. Bittle is operated in OpenCat, an open-sourced quadrupled robot platform that offers endless programming and customisation possibilities and can be controlled using an app that’s compatible with iOS and Android.

Users bring Bittle to life by assembling its puzzle-like frame which is made up of 3D interlocking components, eliminating the need for screws (it’s also available pre-assembled). The bionic construction of legs rather than wheels means that Bittle is able to move more freely over unstructured terrain.

Evolving with an open-source gene, Bittle is built on Petoi’s OpenCat open-source platform specifically for quadrupled robots. Bittle’s dynamic manoeuvrability and behaviours are features typically seen on luxury robots but Petoi’s technology is now making it accessible to more consumers. With a customised Arduino board coordinating all instinctive and sophisticated movements, users are able to clip various smart sensors onto Bittle or mount a Raspberry Pi or other AI chips through wired/wireless connections to inject perception and artificial intelligence capabilities. Bittle can be configured and controlled using Petoi’s official mobile app.

What’s in the box?

The box contains everything you need to build, control and program Bittle.

Building Bittle

Building Bittle takes a while, you need to not only put all the pieces together you need to program it as well.

Final Thoughts

I’ve always wanted a robot dog ever since I first saw K-9 in Doctor Who, so now was my chance to finally get my hands on one.

I chose the build it yourself kit as I thought it would be more fun. And it was, but it was also a lot of work, was quite fiddly at times, and the instructions were not as clear as I would have liked (they are web based, along with a YouTube video rather than anything in the box). For the most part they work very well, however there were times where I had to keep replaying the same few seconds over and over again to try and figure out what they were trying to show. But I got there in the end, and there was a real sense of accomplishment when I did it. For someone who likes building things or playing with electronics, this will be something that really peaks their interest.

You also need to install some software on your computer in order to upload commands and firmware to Bittle. This is a fairly straightforward process but can take some time.

Then the fun really begins – you can program Bittle to do all sorts of things, the possibilities are endless. There is also a remote control you can use to control Bittle or an app on your smartphone. This is a really good opportunity to learn coding in a fun and fairly straightforward way.

The battery, when fully charged lasts about an hour, so keep that in mind.

Bittle is available now from Amazon priced around £299.99 for the kit you put together yourself, or £309.99 for a pre-assembled kit and is aimed at ages 14 years and up and is a really great introduction into electronics and robotics and Bittle also comes in three different colours. There are also additional components that you can buy and fit, including a camera module.

You can learn more from the Petoi website.

Review: Fight’N Rage

Side-scrolling beat ’em-ups used to be a big deal. As such, early console gamers will remember Streets of Rage fondly. Yet, it has been a while since this genre has grabbed my attention. Accordingly, I didn’t have high hopes when I was given Fight’N Rage to review. This old-school-inspired experience should tick many boxes. However, I’ll reserve judgement until the end of this article.

Developed by Sebagamesdev and Blitworks and published by the latter, this is a side-scrolling beat ’em up. What’s more, it is inspired by Streets of Rage and has a fantastic retro feel. Subsequently, it is overflowing with nostalgia, badass music, and hard-hitting moments. Therefore, it is the perfect game for a trip down memory lane.

The trio take on an army of monsters.
Such madness.

Fight’N Rage tells a story of rebellious survival.

The best thing about 90s games was the audacious stories. Additionally, the simple stage design, rudimentary sprites, and garish colours add to the madness. Thankfully, Fight’N Rage has these elements in abundance, and I cherished this fact! With OTT characters, ridiculous fight scenes, and an unbelievably eccentric plot, it was easy to fall for its charms.

The action is set in a futuristic and dangerous world. Humans have been enslaved by mutants and little hope of freedom can be found. Yet, things are about to change as 2 humans and a mutant rebel have had enough. What follows is a sequence of mind-boggling events that are full of fights, cheesy one-liners, and massive bosses. Furthermore, this 90s-inspired title captures the best elements from the era while taking you on an unbelievable but enjoyably nostalgic plot.

Basic mechanics.

What makes Fight’N Rage so great is its simplicity. Effectively, you must choose your fighter, learn the fundamentals, and hope to survive. The developers set you up with the basics while allowing you to experiment along the way. If you are successful, you’ll learn different methods of combat and ways to dodge your opponent’s advances. However, if you are not so lucky, you’ll get your ass handed to you repeatedly, and you’ll die over and over again.

Whatever happens, you are destined to have a great time. Why? Well, this genre is extremely fun, and the action is rewarding. What’s more, it isn’t a walk in the park and this makes it better still. Each stage comprises waves of enemies that must be slaughtered. You can either punch or kick them or use any weapons you find. Alongside this, you’ll find food to increase your health. As each stage concludes, you’ll tackle a gargantuan boss. These assholes need to be taught a lesson, but that’s not always easy. Consequently, you must study their attacks, learn their moves, and overcome any weaknesses.

The team are surfing while fighting monsters.
Surfing monsters, what’s that all about?

Choose your hero and pick a path.

With 3 heroes to choose from, picking the right one can be tough. Gal is nimble but lacks reach and this impacts her fighting. F. Norris has a small health bar but serves as an all-rounder. Finally, Ricardo, the mutant is your slow-paced ‘tank’. Each character requires a different approach, and they bring something new to each playthrough. This is particularly important when you play as 3 players in cooperative mode. The team must work together to maximise their chances. Consequently, understanding the best way to tackle each foe will be the only way to succeed.

Alongside this, there are many collectables to find and branching storylines to witness. This was fantastic, as it enhances longevity and can make the gameplay much harder. Furthermore, the right choice isn’t always obvious, and this leads to some classic moral dilemmas and many poor choices.

Fight’N Rage looks amazing.

If you love early console gaming, you’ll adore Fight’N Rage. The garish colours, simple sprites, and rinse-and-repeat backdrops were all phenomenal. On top of this, the ridiculous bosses and combat animation were fantastic to witness. As such, the developers got the 16-Bit visuals spot on, and I can’t fault their eye for detail.

The audio enhances the charm further still. With loud synth music and jarring sound effects, it’s an uncomfortable cacophony of noises. Moreover, the OTT sounds were borderline annoying and headache-inducing. Now, this may sound like a complaint, but it isn’t. Instead, it highlights how accurately the sound effects reflect a much-loved era of gaming history.

Ricardo is taking down the monsters.
Take them down, Ricardo.

Simple controls that were tough to master.

The 3 button inputs should have been simple to master. Yet, with little explanation, and plenty of combos and attacks to learn, there is an awful lot of trial and error. What’s more, your foes follow a set pattern that can be manipulated. As such, you can overcome many of your enemies by studying their movements and pinpointing their weaknesses.

Fight’N Rage oozes both replay value and longevity. However, a lack of online play tarnishes the experience. Yes, I can play locally with 2 others, but I wanted to play online with my friends. Subsequently, I was a little disappointed, but not enough to put me off altogether. This issue to one side, you’ll return repeatedly to witness each finale for each character. This was fantastic, as it padded out the main story while giving you something to work towards.

Fight’N Rage is a wonderful addition to the genre.

I’ll always remember Streets of Rage fondly. However, times move on and the industry changes. Yet, a trip down memory lane is never a bad thing. Luckily, Fight’N Rage does just that, as it ticks plenty of boxes. With fast-paced action and a ridiculous plot, it secretes retro charm from every orifice. Accordingly, I adored it and I recommend that you buy it here! Can you overthrow your mutant overlords? Work together, defeat the monsters, and save mankind.

Review: SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake

0

The cheerful, yellow sponge is back in action! Do you have what it takes to play as SpongeBob and travel through various portals with your bestie Patrick Star, to help save all of your friends while being required to fulfill so many dangerous objectives?

That is exactly what you can expect with The Cosmic Shake. It is one game that will not only bring that humorous narrative similar to the TV series, but it will also bring a variety of obstacles for you to overcome. Even with that joyful humor, fun costumes to change into, and a large familiar cast of characters, it will still be one challenging game to complete!

Who Lives In A Pineapple Under The Sea

If you have ever seen the show, you know SpongeBob to be a charismatic and eccentric character. He really brings life to each episode of the TV series, movies, and of course, video games! His character hasn’t gotten dull from when he started out, years ago. Everything I’ve seen him in always brings a smile to my face and can be very hilarious to watch. Especially, when accompanied by his best pal Patrick. I feel together they make the perfect team and that is exactly what you get in this game, two friends side by side.

The game practically has the player controlling SpongeBob as the main hero. Patrick on the other hand, after being transformed into a smaller, floating starfish balloon due to the mystical bubbles which caused the cosmic shake. Well, he may be a little help aiding in underpants, which are the lifespan of SpongeBob, or floating him back to safety, but I feel his biggest role in this game is to supply some foolish and idiotic humor to the narrative. No matter what roles each play, the two will need to travel together, entering large environments to explore, complete plenty of objectives, and help save their friends.

One thing I really admired was the large, open-space locations you’ll enter from each portal just waiting to be explored. Unlike many platformer games, you are able to check out the world with minimal restriction, before diving right back into the main objective. Plus, with the additional flower guide that floats in the sky directing you toward the next objective, it’s very hard to get lost or confused about where to go next. So the player can actually explore so many more areas, and collect more jellyfish, or hidden objects freely, with no time limit stopping you.

The game does provide so much to do in each world, which isn’t all about defeating large jelly-mutated creatures. Most of the villains are your friends and to save them is to defeat them, which also returns you back to Bikini Bottom, waiting to go into another portal. While traveling through each world, there are so many objectives related to having fun by racing, trick-or-treating, rolling on boulders, doing karate moves for the paparazzi, and so much more! I found my favorite portal would be the Halloween Rock Bottom because it was fun to go trick-or-treating for candy, but to be honest each level had something fun and exciting to do.

I know that a game can’t always be perfect, only if it’s very simple to complete and play. However, like many games, this one has its flaws. The one main flaw that I stumbled upon, quite a few times could take the player away from enjoying the game fully. There were a few areas that ended up glitchy. This includes a few of the videos that were played during the game and many movements made by the character on the screen while it’s trying to load the next scene. I believe it’s due to too much happening at the same time, leading to plenty of freezing, slow down in loading, and just plain glitchy areas. So be careful, you might have to expect this to occur often during your gameplay too.

Fortunately, there was no need to ever restart the game. I actually was able to make it to the next areas of each world and accomplish the objectives without losing any of my completed work. So even if it gets a bit glitchy due to so much going on, there is still a high chance you’ll never have to worry about restarting the game or losing everything you’ve earned!

Lastly, one personal change I’d make in the game, reduce the narrative. Most of the conversation ends up being a bit much and I don’t really mind taking the time to read or watch through each video. So I end up skipping most of it. At least, the game is very easy to understand and explains what each control does. Plus the additional floating flower directs you toward the next objective, so there is no way to get lost or confused.

Final Thoughts

When I finally got to the end, I felt the game brought joy in two ways, humorous dialogue throughout the game and the action-packed gameplay. It had me absolutely entertained by the silly things these two characters, SpongeBob and Patrick happen to get into. Plus, there was no moment during the game when I felt there was no action. Since I started and all the way to the end, I was doing so much in the game that wasn’t only related to defeating enemies, but more like riding seahorses, playing a few competitive mini-style games, surfing on a surfboard, riding on a unicycle, trick-or-treating, racing in the snail race, long slide rides using SpongeBob’s tongue, unicorn riding, searching for items through a hedge maze and so much more! This game is totally amusing and entertaining, even with a few glitches that might cause a slight slow down in-between scenes.

Review: DIG — Deep in Galaxies

Greetings fellow gamers, I have recently been on an intergalactic journey playing “DIG – Deep in Galaxies” (on Steam), and boy, do I have some things to say about it. This game takes you on an adventure like no other, where you play as a space miner who digs deep into different planets while encountering different species and obstacles that could cost you your life. Strap on your space boots and grab your shovels because we’re about to explore the depths of this quirky sci-fi game.

The game is a mix between platformer and shooter, and its mechanics revolve around the roguelike genre, meaning that each time you play the game, the planets and enemies change, making it unique and unpredictable. I have always had an interest in games that contained procedural generation. You can customize your character with the resources you find and create new armor, weapons, and even superpowers. The missions vary based on the portals you take within the game. For example, you could go on a rescue mission to save someone, collect items, or defeat specific aliens and monsters. Meanwhile, you have to make sure to get blown to bits by radioactive plants, dangerous aliens, and worst of all, fall damage.

The multiplayer system is where the game truly shines. You can team up with your friends and delve into the unknown, experiencing the craziness together. The best part is that the game is also remote play, meaning you and your friends can play together without being in the same room. It’s like having your very own space squad that is ready to tackle anything that comes their way or destroy themselves in the process for laughs and giggles.

The graphics are stunning, and the attention to detail is impressive. Its 2D side-scrolling graphics will make you nostalgic about older games in the past. It kind of reminds me of Super Mario Bros, except with a sci-fi genre and more guns. It honestly makes me feel like a kid again from the way the music plays in 8-bit. Despite using 2D graphics, the game doesn’t feel clunky and it plays smoothly as any other new-aged game.

Now, let’s talk about some of the things that may make you think twice before purchasing “DIG – Deep in Galaxies.” The game can be quite challenging, and you’ll find yourself dying quite often if you are new to platformers and you don’t know what you’re doing. It’s frustrating when you’ve spent hours collecting resources only to lose them all because you ran into a creature that you weren’t prepared for. The learning curve can be steep, so be prepared to spend a little time getting the hang of things.

The controls of the game took me a bit to fully understand. The game itself doesn’t have a standard tutorial like how you would see in an RPG. I found myself pressing the wrong button more than once when trying to traverse an area using a grappling hook, which led to hilarious yet damaging results for my character.

The game can also feel repetitive after a while. Most of the time, your objective remains the same, and while the different planets and enemies make each playthrough unique, you may find yourself feeling like you’re doing the same thing over and over again.

Overall, “DIG – Deep in Galaxies” is a solid game that provides hours of entertainment. The multiplayer system is a great addition, and the graphics are lovely. The roguelike mechanics keep things challenging and unpredictable, although the learning curve can be a bit steep for new players. The game can feel repetitive after a while, but the distinctive 2D landscapes and ecosystems of each planet make up for it.

This game is definitely worth checking out, especially if you’re a fan of the roguelike genre or if you’re looking for a game to play with your friends. Just be prepared to die a lot and spend some time getting the hang of things. With a bit of patience and perseverance, you’ll be able to DIG deep and uncover all the secrets that this game has to offer.

10 Must-Try Games at UK Online Casinos

0

Online casinos are the most popular way of entertainment for a large number of UK residents. According to statistics, the UK online gaming revenue reached over 14 billion British pounds in March 2022.

Moreover, due to the convenience and accessibility of online sites, it has now become easier than ever to create an account and play casino games. Even beginners can quickly find and study the guide on online casinos for UK gamblers and choose the right operator for them. Also, most reputable online gambling sites provide their players with a huge collection of titles that punters can play for real money. From video poker to arcades, there are a variety of different titles for both regular and first-time gamblers who want to get a casino win.

By reading this guide, UK punters can discover some of the most popular online casino game options today. Also, they can learn some casino tips on playing some of these games.

Slots

It goes without saying that slots are the most popular out of all online casino games, being the fan-favorite of the younger generation of bettors. While blackjack and roulette are considered classics, slots are the ones that are recognised the most. The main reason for its big popularity can be attributed to it being easy to understand, in contrast to other games. Most slot titles have very simple gameplay, with flashy symbols and likable animation that instantly catches the eye of the player.

Another reason that has made a great impact on the popularity of slots is that they are constantly being updated. Slot providers repeatedly come up with new and exciting features, which makes it more enjoyable for gamers. Whether it be new symbols or a jackpot reward, punters can always discover something new with slots.

Blackjack

Blackjack is undoubtedly one of the most sought-after card games, generally known as one of the classics. It dates back to 1770s Britain, under the name Vingt-Un or Twenty one.

One of the reasons behind the blackjack’s popularity is that it offers the highest house edge among any other title. The average blackjack house edge is around 1% to 2%, depending on the operator. This means that players have a much higher probability of winning blackjack, than any other title. Furthermore, there are many variations of the said title in online casinos, including :

●     European Blackjack

●     Blackjack Switch

●     Progressive Blackjack

●     Spanish 21

Baccarat

Baccarat is one of the more popular card games, dating back to 19th century France. Then, it was commonly played among French nobility in private gaming venues.

Baccarat is played by many gamblers today, being especially known for having a house edge of 2%. Moreover, it is played between the “player” and the “banker” with three possible outcomes; win, lose, or tie. In many British online casinos, punters can find three different variations of baccarat. These include:

●     Baccarat Banque

●     Baccarat chemin de fer

●     Punto Banco

These variations have different rules than simple blackjack, with Punto Banco being the most popular one.

Video Poker

One of the newer casino games, video poker became one of the favorites during the 1980s. It is based on the five-card draw poker and is played on the console. Furthermore, it is quite similar to real poker, having most of the hand combinations. However, compared to the table version, some video poker titles can include jackpot rewards or additional promotions for the gamer.

In addition to this, there is a wide variety of video poker variants that are offered in online casinos. Gamblers can play the Joker’s wild, Anything’s Wild, as well as the Deuces Wild version.

Classic Poker

Poker is a fan-favorite table game where gamblers bet on the best hand according to the game’s rules. Its origins are debatable, with some studies pointing to Poque or As-Nas as its inspiration.

It is generally played with 52-card decks, although there are versions that have 48, 42, or 30 cards. Additionally, there is a large number of poker variations that are offered in casinos today, with straight poker being the most played. Besides straight poker, there is also stud poker, draw poker, and community card poker.

Craps

The only dice game on this list, craps, was developed from the English variation of the game called “hazard”. In the game, punters bet on possible outcomes on the roll of a pair of dice.

When playing craps, gamblers may wager their funds against each other or the banker. Playing craps against other people is known as street craps, while wagering against the bank is known as casino craps. In addition, the game is renowned for having a high house edge, being generally around 1,5%.

Keno

Keno is most commonly played in modern traditional gambling venues, but it is steadily growing in online casinos, too. The game originated in China, and according to legend, the game’s popularity helped to raise funds for building the Great Wall of China.

The rules of Keno are very basic. A player makes a wager by choosing numbers from 1 to 80. After that, 20 random numbers are drawn using a machine with a random number generator. When it comes to the house edge, it can range from 4% to 35%, depending on the casino.

Bingo

This simple game of probability was originally created in 16th-century Italy. Bingo became increasingly popular after the Betting and Gaming Act of 1960 and was then known as Housey-Housey. Ever since then, Bingo has become a household name in the online gaming industry.

The rules are simple, a player has to mark off numbers that the ”caller is calling out”.  The first one who marks all of the listed numbers is the winner.

Slingo

A unique take on a casino game, this title combines slots and bingo in one. It was created in 1994 and has been a commercial success ever since it was invented.

The game is played via a monitor, similar to a slot game, where a gamer spins the number 20 times. During those spins, 5 numbers appear on the screen, which players can mark off if they are on the card. In addition, while playing the game, users can find various symbols like joker, super joker, or the devils which can greatly impact the game.

Conclusion

And there you have it. From classic table games to modern favorites like slots and video poker, UK’s casinos have much to offer. Hopefully, this article has helped you find out more about the UK’s favorite casino games. Of course, some games in this list are better suited to novice players, while others require some knowledge to play. So, be sure to stick to what you know until you feel comfortable enough to try out new games.

The Impact of Live Streaming Technology on Online Casino Gaming

0

The online casino sector has been impacted significantly by the introduction of live streaming, especially live casino games, which are quickly gaining popularity and player preference. Amongst other crucial components, live casino games rely heavily on high-quality video streaming technology.

These games use live dealers to replicate the experience of playing in traditional casinos, which makes the online gaming experience more exciting and realistic. In this article, we will discuss some of the impacts of this technology on online casino gaming.

Source: Unsplash

More Entertaining and Immersive Game Play

With this modern technology, you may enjoy a brick-and-mortar casino in the convenience of your own home. Even from a distance, you can fully immerse yourself in the in-studio ambience and equipment, including authentic card decks, roulette tables, shuffling machines, and card games. This makes it more entertaining, engaging and immersive than playing against a lifeless computer.

Due to the entertainment value of these games, online casinos like Buzz casino now offer them various themes and options to allow users to play their preferred games live. For example, on the Buzz casino platform, you can find over 20 live blackjack games with different themes and dealers. You can also find live roulette games and many others. It is extremely comforting and pleasurable for players to watch the dealers deal, shuffle, and interact with the cards throughout these games.

Social Digital Gaming Experience

Unlike the conventional way of playing digital games against preprogrammed software on a computer device, live streaming technology has made it possible to record and broadcast casino games simultaneously in real-time through online platforms. This has made gaming more of a social experience between the players and the dealers. Players and dealers can interact with each other through communication elements like microphones and chat features within these live games. These features create a more social gaming experience where you don’t just play but also interact.

Source: Unsplash

Increased Trust and Fairness

Unlike other available online alternatives, live casino gaming offers a more authentic gaming experience. For one, players can see everything as they happen in real time, giving them more confidence in the gaming process. The presence of a real dealer overseeing the game, spinning the roulette wheel, and dealing with the cards also makes the game transparent. It increases the players’ trust in the game-play and the online casino, which has aided players’ acceptance of live casino games.

Final Notes

In the world of online casinos, live-streaming technology is a breath of fresh air. Apart from the fact that this technology has increased the social aspects of playing at online casinos, increased their entertainment value, and increased their reliability, it has also given the sector new business options. Live casino games have opened up a new source of revenue for the sector, and this technology has also given rise to a new group of players at online casinos. We anticipate that as technology develops, online casinos and both their players and consumers will adopt it more widely.

What are the benefits of USBs for gaming?

0

USB ports and flash drives and video games have been inextricably linked for decades. Not only do most consoles come with various USB inputs, but USB flash drives are imperative for gamers on the go. Whether you’re building a new gaming setup or you want to improve an existing one, it’s always worth learning about how USBs are beneficial for gaming.

What are USBs and how do they work?

Most devices – including computers, laptops, and games consoles – will include at least one standard USB-A port, with many of the latest devices boasting USB-C ports too. These are used to feed an external source into your device, whether that’s an accessory, data from another device, Virtual Reality equipment, or simply charging power.

The term ‘USBs’ also refers to some types of portable flash drives, sometimes called memory sticks. In the following guide, we use USB to cover all definitions – from the input on your computer to the flash drive in your pocket.

Why are USBs beneficial for gaming?

  • Additional storage

The latest games come in large packages, as far as storage is concerned. Not only can they fill the majority of storage available on your console or PC, but over time, they could contribute to the slowing down of your machine too. Being able to store them externally with a USB can free up space, prolong the life of the console, and allow you to enjoy smoother gameplay too.

  • Peripheral devices

Still using a corded device? Whether you use a retro controller for your game or cables are an integral part of your setup, it’s more than likely that you’ll rely on USB ports to keep them connected. If this sounds familiar, it’s very important that you know the difference between a traditional USB-A and a USB-C, especially as more and more manufacturers turn to the newer connector type.

  • Increased compatibility

If you’ve ever played portable games before, you’ll know that USBs are essential. You can simply load up your USB flash drive with the latest games and get ready to play, wherever you are. If you frequently travel for business or you need to be flexible with your location, USBs make it possible to recreate your setup on a laptop.

  • Connectivity

Even if you use Bluetooth compatible devices, USB ports can still be necessary. Whether you use external accessories or you’re connecting more than one monitor at the same time, USB ports enable you to customise your setup. Gaming monitors usually work with either USB-A or USB-C, so you’ll also need to make sure that your devices share the same input and output requirements.

  • Saving games

Lastly, we know that you’ll never want to unexpectedly lose any of the progress you’ve made on a mission. When you save your games on a USB flash drive, you’ll benefit from the peace of mind that any sudden computer crash won’t be the end of your luck.

If you’re struggling to decide between wireless and corded devices for your gaming setup, we’d always recommend choosing your gameplay preference over any aesthetic reasons. With the right USBs on hand, you can create a seamlessly integrated gaming setup to use on your favourite servers.

How to create the ultimate gaming setup

0

The rise of platforms like Twitch have made stars of some gamers and seen stars of other scenes take to streaming their more casual gaming attempts too.

Whether you want to make it as the next celebrity streamer or simply get the most out of your gaming, here’s our guide to putting the ultimate setup together.

Choose your device

The most important thing, of course, is your rig. Whether you buy a console off the shelf or build your own gaming PC, there’s a lot to think about.

You will need a high-performance GPU for desktops and this should form the basis of any decision you make. Other key considerations are the CPU, RAM and casing, which can provide cooling capabilities.

For consoles, there’s less modification that you can do, but you may want to consider buying the high-end options offered by Microsoft, Sony and more to improve the experience of you and potential viewers.

You may be able to spread the cost of these purchases with some financial assistance. And meeting your monthly repayments will also help you improve your credit score.

Keyboard and mouse or controller

This isn’t as simple as matching your device. You might prefer to play PC games with a controller, while a selection of console games are compatible with a keyboard and mouse.

Ergonomic peripherals will help you react quickly if you’re playing a fast-paced game. This might be the difference between victory and defeat.

But you should also keep in mind it’s not going to be a one-size-fits-all for video games. For example, if you’re doing a word search puzzle on your computer, then you’ll obviously need a computer and mouse, but if you’re playing something like a racing game, then yeah, a controller will be better. Just keep this tiny detail in mind.

Which monitor to get?

A question many gamers are asking is whether to get a curved or flat monitor.

It’s believed that curved monitors decrease optical injuries as our eyes cover them much more naturally than flatter alternatives. Price differences between the two are also negligible.

By sitting in the middle of a curved screen, your peripheral vision may also help you spot that last enemy camping up high or avoid the last defender as you break through the last line of your opponent’s backline.

It shouldn’t need saying, but we’re going to say it nonetheless. If you don’t have the right DisplayPort video cables, it truly won’t make a big difference whether you go for a curved or flat monitor.

Gaming chair

Another consideration when it comes to comfort is your chair. The right one, with proper ergonomic support, will stop you from developing any aches and pains while you’re gaming and streaming.

The physical benefits are clear, but this can also pass down to your gaming ability. With more focus on your screen and controls you might stand a better chance of success!

Lighting and extras

If streaming is your priority, then it’s worth remembering that you will also be on-screen for much of the time. Therefore, it’s important to think about your surroundings. Coloured LED lighting can create a nice vibe and a poster of your favourite game or framed classic game boxes can help you connect with your subscribers.

Other extras can help make your gaming space more comfortable. You could add a drinks fridge to keep you hydrated or a standing desk so that you can mix things up and keep your body loose.

21 Useful WordPress extensions for a Fan Group Website

0

Do you want to setup a website for your favorite fan group?  Are you thinking about using WordPress, but not sure what extensions to add on (or even if you need extensions)?  Well, I am here to help you figure things out.  It does not matter if your fan group is a Harry Potter Fan Group or a Everygame casino bonus fan group.   The underlying concepts will be similar.

I will state for the record that if you ask 100 people which plugins they like the best, you will get 100 different lists.  Many plugin lists will have repeats, but there will always be some differences.  It is like asking people for a book list on X topic.  Usually you will find repeats, but each list will have its own unique selection.

#1 Admin Columns

Admin Columns is a useful plugin when you want to show items like “post id”, “featured image”, or “series” information, if you installed the series plugin.

#2 Advanced Editor Tools (previously TinyMCE Advanced)

You need the “Classic Editor +” plugin in order to use this plugin.  This plugin controls the settings for the TinyMCE editor.  The “Classic Editor +” turns off the new editor and sets the TinyMCE editor to be the default editor.

#3 Bulk remove posts from category

This adds an option to the “Bulk Edit” functionality on the Admin Control Panel.  In the default Admin Control panel, you can bulk add posts to a category.  But even if you unselect a category, it does not remove the post from that category.  This plugin allows you to remove the selected categories from the posts.  This is very useful, because “uncategorized” is the default category added to most posts.  This plugin will allow bulk removal of that category.

#4 Classic Editor +

Do you hate the new WordPress editor?  Or their features that you need that are not available in the new WordPress editor?  This is the plugin that you need to restore the traditional TinyMCE editor.

#5 Imsanity

High-resolution images are great … when you want to print out your image into a larger than 16″ x 20″ poster.  But for a website, that high of resolution is overkill.  Imsanity automatically reduces your images to a more website-manageable size.

#6 PublishPress Series

Do you publish article series?  For example, your Casino Fan Group is reading as a group the book “Hoyle’s Rules of Games: The Essential Family Guide to Card Games, Board Games, Parlor Games, New Poker Variations, and More“.  You want 1 post for each chapter, but you want the reader to keep the same order as the book when they go from one article to the next.  This plugin will help you keep this organization with “previous article” and “next article” buttons.

#7 Shortcodes Ultimate

If you like to write your articles using shortcodes, this is the “swiss army knife” of shortcode extensions.  Most of the short codes are generic visual items, but most people will find something that they want to use.  If you need fancier items like a pricing table, splash screen, testimonial, etc. you may want to purchase the pro version.

#8 Simple add pages or posts

With Plugin #6, we keep a set of posts in a series to indicate they are in a group, previous, next, etc.

But what about the actual adding of the articles?  By using this extension, “Simple add pages or posts”, you just create a list of article titles and all of the articles are created.  Then you just do a bulk edit to add all of them to the series (#6 PublishPress Series), and if the autonumbering setting has been set, all of your articles will be ordered in the order they were listed when you added them with the #8 Simple add pages or posts.

So instead of having to add 36 individual posts, you just list their titles.  The only downside is that you still need to add individually the featured image, even if it is the same for every post in a series.  Yes, that sucks.  But using the two is still great to get a general idea of how you want your website to be laid out.

#9 Simple Author Box

Create an author box that is pre-styled to look nice.  There are a bunch of settings to customize how you want the author boxes to look.

#10 Simple Basic Contact Form

Creates a very basic contact form that can be included in pages and posts with a shortcode.

#11 Simple Blog Stats

Some simple blog stats are displayed on the Dashboard page.  There are shortcodes to add this information to any post or page.  Stats displayed: number of posts, number of pages, number of drafts, number of comments, number of media files, number of comments in moderation, number of approved comments, number of users, number of categories, number of tags, number of custom post types, list of number of articles in each custom post type, and number of logged in users.

#12 Simple Custom Post Order

This plugin allows you to drag and drop and order pages, posts, and custom pages.  The settings (under settings) control which type of articles you want to allow Custom Post Order to manage.

#13 Simple Download Monitor

Simple Download Monitor will allow you to add files that you allow your users to download for either free or a price.  The software will also store a count of how many times a document is downloaded.

#14 Simple Link Directory – Lite

Do you have a list of URLs that you want to share with your group?  This is a good way to keep them organized.  You can assign links to categories.  You create a list of links.  Then you add your links to a list.  When you want to display a list of URLs, you add a shortcode to a page or article.  In the free version, the style of the URLs is simple.  With the paid version, you get more styles to choose from.

#15 Simple Post Notes

This plugin allows you add notes to a post without that information being displayed on the front end.  It can be displayed in the admin columns.  For example, let’s say the article is being held, because you have to get final membership fee values from the group treasurer.

#16 Simple Revisions Delete

I do not know about anybody else, but I tend to end up with a lot of revisions that are not needed.  After I am “done” with writing an article, I want to be able to purge all of the minor edits and only keep the major edits.  For example, I update the “Rules for the group” once a year, so I want to keep the 2022 final version and the 2023 final version, but I do not need to keep the drafts as the group discussed online different versions of the final rules.

#17 Simple WordPress Membership

Do you want some of your content to be free while other content is for paid members?  This plugin will allow you to do it.

The simple membership plugin lets you protect your posts and pages so only your members can view the protected content.

You create unlimited levels of memberships: free, bronze, silver, gold, and it will protect your posts and pages using the membership levels that you create.   If you want to protect only part of an article, then you will also need the “Simple Membership Partial Protection”.

#18 Simple Membership Partial Protection

This plugin requires the “Simple Membership” plugin.  The advantage of this plugin is that you can partially protect some information in a post.  For example, let’s say that you are posting information about an event.   The general information about the event, you want anybody to be able to read.  But since the meeting will take place in somebody’s home, you want to restrict that information (along with the contact phone number) to be only available to members, for safety reasons.  Even if you do not want to charge for this information, you may still want to require membership for somebody to see the info … so you know who exactly is reading that information.

#19 Super Simple Event Calendar

Super Simple Event Calendar is an event calendar for people who just want something simple for events.  Other plugins include a Google calendar, but with this plugin, the events are stored locally.

#20 Very Simple Google Maps

Add a Google Map with a simple shortcode.  All features are set within the shortcode.

#21 YYDevelopment – Show Pages ID

With Show Pages IDs plugin you will be able to view the pages and posts IDs in the top admin menu bar and in the back-end admin panel as well.Knowing the page ID is important if you use shortcodes.  A number of other plugins that, as part of their settings, have the user include the page or post ID instead of the Page or Post title.  This is to allow the title of the Page or Post to be updated without breaking the shortcodes.  Without this plugin, figuring out what a page or post’s ID is would be difficult.

Review: Echo Generation

Echo Generation pokes fun at 80s gaming and entertainment. Moreover, it has a heartwarming story of family and friendship. However, this gooey rich centre is surrounded by a tale of supernatural beings, monsters, and a classic conspiracy theory. As such, you must find clues, uncover secrets, and battle beasts as you search for the truth.

Developed and published by Cococucumber, this is a pixelated adventure title. What’s more, it focuses on turn-based action and allows you to build a small but cute army of followers. Subsequently, this witty and fun game is full of puzzles, tactical nuance, and plenty of challenging encounters. Furthermore, its aesthetics are brilliantly dated and retain an old-school charm.

Two friends sit at a bus stop and ponder life.
The gateway to the downtown area.

Echo Generation keeps you guessing.

Echo Generation tells a story that ebbs and flows nicely. However, its secretive moments and sinister characters keep you on your toes from beginning to end. As such, I adored the strange story and the bizarre moments. Moreover, the excellent setting and witty dialogue keep you hooked until the end credits. Accordingly, it was a moreish experience that was tough to put down.

You control a sibling duo who are on the hunt for their dad. After his strange disappearance, the pair never got closure. However, weird occurrences are happening in Maple Town, and this piques their interest. Yet, as the siblings explore their surroundings, they realise that the world is a dangerous place. With mutated creatures, demented robots, and ghostly apparitions, they have bitten off more than they can chew. Amusingly, though, this doesn’t stop them, and they team up with cute animals and robotic sidekicks to continue their adventure. If successful, the team will destroy mountains of bosses while uncovering the bizarre disappearance of their father. However, if they fail, the conspiracy theories will remain unsolved.

Puzzles and exploration.

The core gameplay centres on exploration, puzzles, and turn-based combat. Yet, Echo Generation doesn’t have an open world. Instead, it has a small map that can be explored freely. However, a linear approach and tight puzzles drive you to the finale. As such, there are no choices to make, and each problem must be solved in a timely fashion.

Now, this isn’t an issue, as I enjoyed searching for items, comics, and other bits and bobs. Furthermore, the relationships you form with each NPC are amusing and add to the colourful nature of the action. My only complaint is a lack of a journal. Annoyingly, the game expects you to remember multiple side quests and every key moment. Moreover, there is no way to fast travel, nor is there a map to fall back on. Subsequently, if you put this down for too long, you’ll forget what you are doing and that is unfortunate.

These minor issues could have easily been avoided. If a journal had been included, it would have improved the gameplay while making the finer details and weird lore easier to follow.

A battle with some junkyard creatures.
Patience and the right attack are required for victory.

Turn-based combat and teamwork.

Your progress relies on your ability to work together and excellent turn-based combat. Your team comprises two siblings and one additional member. Each person or creature has strengths and weaknesses that must be exploited. Furthermore, they have an array of attacks that are executed by completing a short mini-game. You unlock each special move by finding or purchasing comic books. With 30 to discover, there are plenty of tactical choices to make.

Whether you are spamming the A button, matching shapes, or timing a spinner, it matters not. However, you must focus on accuracy if you wish to excel. The same approach is taken when you are under attack. This simple but effective mechanic was tough to master. However, once you got to grips with it, the combat elements were great fun.

Alongside the choice of attacks, you need to consider skill points, health, and strength. Each of these stats can be improved as you level up, and they are key to your survival. Additionally, they add another tactical layer to this excellent title.

Echo Generation is wonderfully pixelated.

There is a time and place for a Voxel art world. Thankfully, Echo Generation gets it just right. With its brilliant blend of locations and vivid colour palette, it was great to look at. Moreover, the combat was smooth, the transition between areas was seamless, and there were no issues. On top of this, I loved the still shots of every big boss, and the minor details capture the 80s perfectly.

Alongside the great visuals was the brilliant audio. The developers incorporated an excellent soundtrack if you found hidden cassette tapes. These wonderful synth songs are upbeat and reminiscent of the era. Furthermore, the sound effects are crass but well-considered.

A giant werewolf stands over a junk pile.
A giant beast that tests spectral beings.

Brilliant controls.

As much of the action relies on rapid inputs and accuracy, the controls needed to be on point. Thankfully they were, and this ensures the gameplay is executed flawlessly. What’s more, the simple layout and helpful hints keep you on target and reduce mistakes.

If like me, you searched every nook and cranny, then the replay value will be reduced. However, if you rush through the game, you’ll need to return to find collectables and other items. As such, Echo Generation has limited longevity and replay value. Thankfully, though, the first playthrough is so good, that this is a minor complaint.

Echo Generation is an enjoyable and amusing nod to the 80s.

Echo Generation epitomises everything I love about the 80s. Consequently, it’s crass, loud, amusing, witty, and a little surreal. Furthermore, it doesn’t take itself too seriously, and I adored this fact. Alongside this, the gameplay is fantastic, and the tactical moments were phenomenal. I think the developers got the balance just right, and it prevents the game from being OTT or overbearing. Accordingly, I cherished my time with it and recommend you buy it here! Can you uncover the secrets of this strange town? Work together, unlock new attacks, and discover the truth about your father.

Review: Cuddly Forest Friends

0

Sometimes all we really need is a game to just sit back, relax and play without much strategic-planning or complex controller mapping to remember. Especially if that game can take us away from everyday issues that are going on around us. I’m sure most of us can handle daily games of shooting, bombing, bulldozing, and violence against baddies, but for many, a relaxed game filled with humor, mini-style games, and just plenty of lovable, cuddly animal cuteness can be a great way to unwind!

Let There Be Cuteness!

Cuddly Forest Friends is a fun, party-sim style game that will make you smile when you see how cute and adorable these animals really are! There are a total of 9 unique woodland creatures to care for, some we know of and many not-so-common. Right away, I found that to be awesome! Not only will you get to play with these cute critters, but also get to know a few new ones, such as the Degu, Flying Squirrel, and Capybara. Actually, I was so curious and had to research each of them.

Thankfully, right from the very start, you’ll have full advantage of playing with each of the 9 cuddly critters. No need to wait or search to find them! So get ready to spread that love, they’ll really appreciate it, and practically, that is all it takes to play this game. Spreading love is as easy as just fulfilling each of their needs. This could be through talking, feeding, interacting, or even dressing them up! Every time they have scored some happy feelings for a job well done, it aids the animal’s ability to flourish and thrive.

Additionally, there is this tree known as the Tree Of Happiness, which also requires your help to grow. It is quite a simple achievement, all you need to do is just play one of the 10 unlockable mini-games like Flappy Fishing or Twirling Banana Grab, and spread more happy feelings into the forest. Soon the tree will grow larger, right in front of your eyes! With all of these happy feelings you need to spread, there is no time to feel bored. This game will have you busy playing with each animal and spreading that love. You’ll be wanted all the time, and honestly, I love that feeling of everyone wanting your attention.

So can you do anything wrong in this game? Not really, as long as you continue to care for each animal and spread happiness, then you’re golden! Plus, it’s hard to find any of these cute, round, and fluffy critters to be unlovable! They really capture your attention and heart with their cute noises, their adorable reactions, and just by their playful personalities.

Final Thoughts

So what are you looking forward to playing today? Well if you’re looking for something that will relax and calm your mind or maybe you want to be amused and swooned by the cuteness of cuddly woodland creatures, well you must try Cuddly Forest Friends. It’s all about putting a smile on your face and spreading happiness in your life as well as in the game. Just watch as these amusing, cuddlable characters appear on your screen waiting for you to spread happiness throughout the forest by competing in many mini-games. Plus, the joyous music and bright, cute graphics make the game so inviting and perfect for everyone at any age to play.

One thing that I really must mention is even if the game might feel a bit simple, it reduces the need to think or concentrate heavily on what you need to do next. Cause if your day is already filled with stressful things, why work harder on winning at a game? I know I don’t want to arrive home and play something more demanding of my mind after I’ve just been using it all day. So to take a break away from the complicated stuff coming in daily, this is a perfect game to unwind and a great reason to smile 😁.

Review: LOUD

0

LOUD lets you live through the origin story of a young rockstar one song at a time. hitting the digital shelves late February of 2023, LOUD is an arcade rhythm game with 100% original beats and a whole lot of personality to show. We play as Astrid, a young girl with huge dreams of playing music for millions and being among the greats.

Astrid, The Main Character, Rocking out on stage!

The game opens up with a “best played on controller” notice, so this is exactly how I approached my playthrough. Once we navigate through the menus and jump in we’re greeted by a static cutscene introducing our main character as she lists through her favorite musicians with a broom ready in hand to air guitar her way to the top. Once we’re through the cutscene we’re greeted with a pinup board showing different polaroid’s and adding more as we progress through the story, this serves as the game’s main song selection board for the story mode as well as giving away little bits of story pieces with every new polaroid added. Each period of Astrid’s life contains an introductory cutscene, 3 songs and an ending cutscene that progresses the story forward. After the first cutscene its right into some broom air guitar gameplay as we’re lead into our first song, which also serves as a tutorial for the controls of the game.

The arcade style controls stand out distinctly from more traditional rockband-esque rhythm games. The game is mainly controlled by the by the outer directional keys on the D pad towards the left and the Y B and A keys on the right, each key corresponding to a particular line of notes on screen to be pressed as indicated. The game also highlights 3 different actions to be performed while playing through the songs, there’s the singular star indicators which simply require a single button press once they approach the correct note timing, then there is the line indicator which requires the player to hold down the corresponding button as long as the line remains on screen, and lastly there is the mashing indicator, depicted as a swirly line that passes through the notes during which the player must mash the corresponding button. With the variety of button actions and combinations the gameplay is able to masterfully weave through different song pieces providing just enough control variety to allow an immersive song playing experience. One thing that did bother me throughout playing though, was the face that the shape of the indicators did not line up with the end of the line that highlights the correct timing to hit each button, a lot of rhythm games do this so that a player is able to use pattern recognition and see when the shapes line up to time their button presses perfectly, however because due to the shapes and indicators being slightly different here, this type of secondary timing technique is not very easy to pull off and can sometimes throw you off and result in you missing a note.

Arcade Rhythm Gameplay, showing what the button mashing indicator looks like

With 3 different difficulty levels and 18 songs plus a few bonus tracks, LOUD is definitely able to keep players engaged in its rhythm gameplay. It took me around an hour and a half to fully play through the story in the lowest difficulty however going back to perfect each song on each difficulty has surely resulted in multiple hours of play time, and this is before even trying the bonus tracks and potential unlockable hidden content.

Graphically, LOUD presents itself with a simple 2d illustrated style, with each section of Astrid’s journey revealing a new character style, instrument and stage; displaying a myriad of vibrant colors to truly give each section its own personality. The cutscenes while very minimally animated are able to quite nicely convey the personality and thought of our main character in that particular story section. One thing I will point out however is the games tendency to tell instead of showing. Many times I found myself just staring at a barely animated image during a cutscene while the character goes on to describe multiple things that I am not really seeing on screen, the character does eventually hit upon what has been shown and illustrated but this can very easily take the player out of the immersive experience.

LOUD could also use some work in the story department. While it is true that the story is very much not the main focus of the game, even then it comes off a bit too predictable and linear. Astrid goes from air guitaring on a broom in her bedroom to playing in front of thousands at a music festival in a matter of what seems like minutes and during this time we barely get a few glimpses into her true character. There’s hints here and there of who Astrid is as a person and her history, provided to us through the cutscenes as well as character outfit descriptions, however this personality seems to have little bearing on the plot. There is an instance where Astrid expresses her discomfort with one of her producers making unwelcomed advances at her, this story beat is resolved in just two lines, with our main character simply explaining how they complained about the producer and thus he was replaced. There are no repercussions of this event on the overall story and Astrid continues on with her music career, with the plot not even acknowledging any difference. Even when the game’s main selling point isn’t its story line, a story that can immerse the player and keep them engaged is a truly important aspect of any game and LOUD sadly falls short in its narrative.

One of Many Outfits Showcased In The Game, Revealing a bit about the Main Character

With all of its rocking tunes and difficulty, even with the story falling a little short, I found myself deeply enjoying my experience with LOUD. I see myself definitely sinking a few mores hours into the game, making sure I am able to gain at least an S rank on each song and even looking through the achievements to see what different experiences may be lurking within.

With its gripping arcade rhythm gameplay I give LOUD a 7.5/10.

It successfully achieves what it sets out to do however it could use some polish in the way it presents itself and its story.

Review: ACEFAST Crystal Earbuds T8

I, like many people, love to listen to music. Whether I’m walking my dog, riding my bike, or running trails, I can’t get enough of it. However, finding the right earbuds to suit each job isn’t an easy task! Some are too cumbersome, others lack build quality or battery life, and some are just plain terrible. As such, when I was offered the ACEFAST Crystal Earbuds T8 to review, I was a little hesitant.

ACEFAST isn’t a company I’ve heard of, but their products caught my eye. With stylish LED lights, a unique display setup, and a monster battery life, these earbuds promised a lot. Furthermore, at under £100, they look to be fantastic value for money as well. On top of this, they have a level 4 waterproof rating and they utilise Bluetooth 5.3 for connectivity. Moreover, the LDS innovative antenna ensures they are perfect for hands-free calling as well.

As you can see, these earbuds have a lot of promise. However, I’ve been stung many times in the past and I believe that the proof of the pudding is in the eating. As such, I couldn’t wait to give these feature-packed accessories a thorough going over. So, without further ado, let’s see how the ACEFAST Crystal Earbuds T8 stack up.

What’s in the box of the ACEFAST Crystal Earbuds T8?

  • The cardboard packing looks enticing and professional. Furthermore, the outer sleeve is striking thanks to the snazzy images and key selling points. Thankfully, the outer packaging and box are fully recyclable, and that’s a massive plus.
  • Internally, each item is individually packaged. Moreover, there is a combination of cardboard and non-recyclable foam. Consequently, this was a little disappointing.
  • The ACEFAST Crystal Earbuds T8 are housed in their charging case and come ready to go. However, before you use them, you must remove some plastic labels from the charging connectors. The case and earbuds come in a variety of colours and the case has a funky display.
  • A small USB-C charging cable is provided. However, any standard USB-C cable will suffice.
  • To protect the charging case, a white silicone sleeve is provided. On top of this, a white silicone wrist strap can also be used to carry the device.
  • Spare ear tips. ACEFAST knows that everyone is different. Subsequently, they’ve included 4 sizes of ear tips.
  • A simple user manual is provided to help you understand the fundamentals.

Technical aspects.

As I like using my earbuds for multiple purposes, I am pretty demanding. As such, I expect them to have great battery life and to be easy to use. Moreover, they must be rugged and hard-wearing. Thankfully, the ACEFAST Crystal Earbuds T8 ticks all of these boxes and many, many more. Accordingly, they are the perfect choice for walkers, sports people, or those that require a hands-free option. Moreover, the incredible battery life of 30 hours makes them a godsend if you are away from a charging point.

Thanks to the sturdy case, the earbuds are always juiced up. What’s more, the handy display highlights your battery level for each earbud. However, if the case is running low on power, simply connect the USB-C charging cable and you’ll be underway pretty quickly. Further to this, the earbuds have an impressive 7-hour charge. Consequently, you can do a lot of exercise before you need to dock them again.

I was taken aback by the sound quality of this device. Not only does it deliver rich bass, but it has a comfortable blend of low, mid, and high tones. What’s more, the sound doesn’t distort whenever you pump the volume or select an aggressive track.

Usability.

Where the ACEFAST Crystal Earbuds T8 excel is their usability. Thanks to Bluetooth 5.3 technology, you can connect to devices within a 100 ft/30-metre radius. Moreover, connecting to either an apple or android device is easy as pie. Simply hold the touch control on the right device and you enter pairing mode. Furthermore, there are touch controls for volume, pausing music, and taking phone calls. This was fantastic, as you didn’t have to handle your phone when you were out and about.

Talking of phone calls, the LDS antenna is an absolute godsend. Consequently, you enjoy crystal-clear communication without masses of background noise. Additionally, the other party can hear you perfectly without unwanted interference.

Design.

I was on the fence about the transparent design. At first glance, it reminded me of a fad from the early 2000s. However, the combination of vivid LEDs, the easy-to-read screen, and the array of colours made me love them. On top of this, the housing for each earbud was reassuringly secure.

Alongside this, the transparent plastic feels well-made and robust. If you then consider the level 4 waterproof rating and the choice of ear tips, this is the perfect running accessory. Accordingly, the earbuds felt snug and secure when I used them. Furthermore, they survived multiple downpours and the sound quality never faltered.

Are the ACEFAST Crystal Earbuds T8 worth it?

I’ve tried some spectacular earbuds in my time. I’ve used brands such as ROCCAT, EPOS, and JLab. Luckily, the ACEFAST Crystal Earbuds T8 comfortably compete with their peers. However, thanks to their unique look and excellent Bluetooth technology, they stand out from the competition. As such, I loved them and I recommend that you buy them here!

(More information on ACEFAST can be found here!)
