Final Thoughts

As a kid I spent hours upon hours in arcades playing on different machines, feeding in my 10p’s (yes, I am that old that the machines were 10p a go) and watching other people play when my money ran out.

I’ve always wanted my own arcade machine at home and Arcade1Up provide just that – an arcade machine for your home. These are 3/4 scale replica copies of the original arcade cabinets, although if you add the optional riser they become full size. They include all the original artwork, authentic controls (depending on your chosen machine) and come with multiple titles.

In the case of this review, we were provided with Capcom’s Street Fighter II Championship Cabinet which has three different Street Fighter II games built-in.

The moment I switched on the machine I was instantly transported back to my childhood and those arcades. The look, the feel, the controls, the graphics, the sounds, it was all there in front of me again, only this time I didn’t need any 10p’s!

The games are a perfect replica of those original arcade games and Arcade1Up have done a fantastic job of recreating not only the cabinet, but also the feeling I got as a kid – so well done Arcade1Up!

Final Thoughts

The Landrover Defender comes in a  good size box and needs assembling. Thankfully that process only takes about 20 minutes or so as all the major part are already fitted together. You just need to fit the wheels, the seat, the steering wheel, the front window and mirrors.

Everything you need to do that is included in the box with the exception of a screwdriver, there’s even a tool to tighten the wheel nuts in there!

There are two levers in the car – one that controls the brake, and another that controls the type of movement. The peddles are easy to use and have a non-slip coating to make them easier to handle.

The steering works well and it’s an all round joy to drive (so I was told!). You can use it inside or outside, the choice is yours.

The Landrover Defender totally looks the part and will bring hours of joy to your child and hopefully hours of quiet to you – this is a must have Christmas present! I only wish I had one when I was a child!

In terms of the review, I really don’t want to say much as it’s supposed to be a spoiler free review. You really need to have seen Avengers: End Game and it would also help to have seen Captain Marvel as this movie takes place after the events of Avengers.

I really enjoyed Spider-Man: Far From Home even more than I enjoyed Homecoming. Tom Holland really has made the character his own, and he is my favourite Spider-Man, bringing that right amount of humour, vulnerability and action. And I’m really happy that Marvel and Sony have sorted their issues out because this movie really sets up the next one!

If you are Marvel fan, a Spidey fan or you just want to watch an enjoyable fun action packed movie, then Spider-Man: Far From Home is just what you are looking for.

The box contains the Outlier Gold in-ear headphones, manual, carry / charging case, different size ear bud tips and a USB cable.

Super X-Fi

The Software Super X-Fi Processing Technology unlocks Super X-Fi headphone holography for local audio and music files through Bluetooth. By activating the SXFI App wirelessly on your mobile with the Outlier Gold, you can transform the SXFI App into a Super X-Fi MP3 player and enjoy cinematic audio even while on the go!

Installing the software is easy – just grab it from the app store of your choice.

Once you have configured the software you can play back your music from the app.

Just tap the Super X-Fi button to activate it.

Final Thoughts

The first thing you need to do is charge the headphones – they sit in their protective box (which is also the charging box) and you connect the cable to a power source. On the side of the charging box there are a number of lights showing the status of the charge, and which headphone is charging.

Creative claim that you can get 39 hours of use – this is split down by 14 hours when you first take them out of the charging box (when fully charged) and then an additional two full charges without having to connect the box back to a power supply. I found this to be a fairly accurate claim and there was no point that they suddenly ran out of power or I didn’t have enough power left in the box to recharge them. That said, it’s wise to charge the box (and the headphones) whenever you get an opportunity so that you don’t run out!

In terms of connecting them to a device that was very simple. What you do is connect either the left or the right headphone to your device via Bluetooth, and then once that has connected the other headphone pairs automatically with the other. It does look strange on your Bluetooth device list to see them listed as either L or R but it works fine.

Fitting the headphones are very simple – although they don’t quite block out a lot of noise around you, this is mainly due to the tips, so you might want to consider getting better tips for them. I actually found the tips that came with the headphones to not actually be that comfortable over extended periods, but when I replaced them it was fine. So really it’s going to be down to personal preference along with your specific ears as well!

Controlling various functions with the headphones were easy although there were occasions I had to press quite hard, which isn’t great when they are in your ears.

The microphone works very well, according to the people I called, just make sure to adjust the position in your ears.

You can use them with both Siri and Alexa, and that also works very well.

The Super X-Fi software was an interesting addition – setting up the app was easy – mapping your ears was a little more complicated and required the assistance of someone else. Once that was done it was really easy to use – just choose your locally stored music and either tap the button to switch it on or not.

All in all the Creative Outlier Gold In-Ear Headphones are a great set of wireless in-ear headphones coupled with Super X-FI, if you get a chance to test them for yourself you should, you never know, you might just buy a pair.

Sometimes the battery in your car will stop working – there are many reasons this could happen. It’s happened to me, it’s probably happened to you at some point. When this happens you have a number of options – get a jump start from another car, have a large battery booster or call someone out. These are all valid options, but now you can also carry the 70mai Jump Starter around and use that.

The 70mai Jump Starter is about the size of a large smart phone. Charging it is as simple as connecting it to a power source. Using it is just as simple – you connect the cables to the  jump starter, the clamps to the battery terminals and then just start the car – it’s as simple as that.

It is hard to imagine that the last we saw of Doctor Who was January 1st 2019 just before the show vanished for 12 months, and I am expecting now that the BBC has started to trickle some new about guest stars for the upcoming series, that it will be revealed that the new series will start from New Years Day 2020.

But, until that theory is confirmed, today we finally have the first Official trailer for the next series and just from this very short trailer, it is very clear that a lot of the feedback from Jodie Whittaker’s 13th Doctor and Chris Chibnal’s first series of Doctor Who as show-runner, has been listened too with some classic enemies returning and the slight hint of an overall story arc with The Doctor Sensing that something is coming for her….

Doctor Who Reveals New Series 12 Poster and First Episode News

Doctor Who fans have been teased in the last few days as news is starting to trickle out about series 12 (since reboot). Starting with the announcement that British TV icons Stephen Fry and Sir Lenny Henry CBE will both appear in the series opener when the TARDIS lands once more, with Jodie Whittaker reprising her role as the Thirteenth Doctor. Armed with a wealth of acting, comedy and writing credentials both are more than equipped to come face to face with the Time Lord and her friends, but will they be friend or foe remains to be seen…

Speaking ahead of his Doctor Who appearance, Stephen Fry says: “Short of being picked for a British space exploration programme and I readily concede that I’m past the age where I’d be considered (if I was ever the right age for such a posting) – then being in an episode of Doctor Who will certainly do as a very sweet second-place excitement.”

Sir Lenny Henry CBE says: “It was absolutely brilliant to be welcomed into the fantastical world of Doctor Who. The nearest I have been to the TARDIS was when I played the Caribbean Doctor in the Lenny Henry Show, so as a life-long (hiding behind the sofa type) Doctor Who fan this is a very special moment for me.”

Chris Chibnall, Showrunner, says: “Doctor Who is coming back with a bang – with two great British icons in major roles. One of the great joys of Doctor Who is getting to work with actors from your wish list. Stephen and Lenny are two of my absolute favourite actors – and to be able to bring them into Doctor Who, in one of our biggest ever stories to kick off the new series, is an absolute thrill.”

Along side this news came the reveal of the new series 12 poster for the show. Although not confirmed yet by the BBC, it is being reported that the new series will follow how Jodie’s time as the 13th Doctor by the new series kicking off on New Years day 2020, so again no Christmas Special and yet to see if the New Years Day episode will be a special or just a series opener:

Jodie Whittaker will reprise her role as the Thirteenth Doctor alongside Tosin Cole (Ryan) Mandip Gill (Yaz) and Bradley Walsh (Graham) who are all returning for their second series.

Nintendo of America announced that after selling more than 6 million units worldwide during launch weekend, the Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield games are among the fastest-selling Nintendo Switch games of all time. Additionally, the games sold just over 2 million copies in the first two days in the U.S., making it the highest-grossing launch of any Pokémon game.

“This past weekend, millions of people began their Pokémon journeys through the new Galar region,” said Nick Chavez, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “With such a momentous launch, Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield have proven to be two of the must-have games this holiday season.”

Games in the core Pokémon RPG series have sold more than 240 million units worldwide since launching with the Pokémon Red Version and Pokémon Blue Version games in 1996.

In Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, players embark on a journey through the Galar region, where they’ll catch, battle and trade a variety of Pokémon, meet a memorable cast of characters and unravel the mystery behind the Legendary Pokémon Zacian and Zamazenta. In the Wild Area, which stretches between the Galar region’s different towns and cities, players will explore a vast expanse of untamed wilderness that’s full of Pokémon to battle and catch. By teaming up with three other players locally or online in the new multiplayer co-op Max Raid Battles, players will face off against gigantic and super-strong Pokémon known as Dynamax Pokémon.
