For those of you patiently waiting for news from HP on the promise 3.0 software update for existing HP MediaSmart owners, wait no more as this came from HP today....
Last week I started a Server Recovery on my HP EX470 but had the infamous 34% hang AND backup database issues. I have since completed the Server Recovery but am now having issues with the Windows Home Server Connector.
As previously announced, owners of the EX470/475 MediaSmart Servers can now download two new applications for their Servers. The online backup application allows customers to designate specific shared folders on their Server for secure upload to the Amazon S3 service. Doing so provides an additional layer of data protection for the most important photos, documents and other files on your Windows Home Server.
So the HP MediaSmart Server EX485 and EX487 Windows Home Server has been available now since January 2009, and is the “follow up” to the hugely successful EX470 and EX475 models. I have been using the EX487 as my main production WHS for a few months now and figured it was about time to post the review.
HP have annoucned that will now release the recent MediaSmart Server 2.5 Update for owners of the EX470, EX475 and LX195. They have also announced the release of the EX485, EX487 and LX195 in Europe.
So this is a new “feature” – rather than post each and every time something happens that isn’t necessarily big news, or someone posts an interesting article on another site, I thought I would just do a weekly round up.
HP today announced the impending launch of the new HP MediaSmart LX195 Windows Home Server. Here we take an in-depth look at the LX195 and see what it's all about.
A few weeks ago I posted an article on the then forthcoming HP MediaSmart Server 2.5 Update. Well the update was released last week for all HP MediaSmart Server EX485 and EX487 owners and so I thought it was time to do a more in-depth look at this new update.
