Final Thoughts

The NEOGEO Mini looks great when you take it out of the box, and that’s before you even switch it on! So whether you are playing it or just having it sitting on your desk it really does look the part.

In order to power it up you need to use the included USB cable  – there are no batteries in the Mini so whenever you want to play it you will need to be connected to some sort of power. This feels a little odd to have not included a battery option so that people can play it on the go, or at least not having to have it connected all the time.

If you want to connect the NEOGEO Mini to a television you will need to purchase a separate HDMI cable. This isn’t a normal HDMI cable, this one is mini-HDMI to HDMI. There is an official cable you can buy, or you can just look around for one.

Unfortunately the quality of the picture when connecting the Mini to a TV isn’t that great, so I think for most people they will play it on the Mini itself.

The picture quality on the Mini is great – the images are sharp and the screen is very clear. The sound is adequate, but there is a headphone socket which actually gives you better sound when using that as the speakers in the unit are a little disappointing.

The joystick and buttons on the Mini are responsive, although the joystick does take a little getting used it – but once you are used to it you will be fine.

You can actually buy a separate controller, or two, which connects into the back of the Mini which will make your gameplay experience better, and also means you can play some of the two player games!

Talking of games, there are 40 games included which should give you lots to play with and they are all faithful reproductions of the originals.

Switching between games is very simple and easy too!

Playing games on the Mini was a lot of fun and brought back a lot of nostalgic memories and if you have a gamer in your life, or you just want to relive some great memories, then you should definitely take a closer look.

The only thing that’s slightly disappointing is that if you want the full experience then you will have to buy the Mini, plus a controller or two, plus an HDMI cable and even then you will need to connect it up to a power supply whenever you want to play it, and the picture quality on the TV isn’t great. Thats really all that lets it down – other than those, it’s great.

The international version of the NEOGEO Mini is available now at accessoryoutlet.co.uk priced at £129.99, with additional NEOGEO Mini PAD controllers available for £24.99.

Review: Doctor Who Series 11 Episode 5 – The Tsuranga Conundrum

For the first four episodes, Series 11 has really focused on setting up ‘Team TARDIS’ with the new Doctor and her companions, which the series has still yet to use that term in it ongoing mission to be “New Who”, finding their feet on board the TARDIS. We have had all the traditional first time in space, first time time travelling and first watching from behind the sofa episodes with the stand out episode by far being Rosa. Now we have ‘The Tsuranga Conundrum’ which once again has been written by new show runner Chris Chibnall and for me, this story really has to take the training wheels off finally now all the setting up has been done for his new characters.

*Spoiler Warning – This review will go into the story of the episode so will contain minor story spoilers*

This episode for me has been the most disappointing one yet for this series, it just felt so very by the numbers that it never really grabbed me into it and it is slightly worrying for an episode I had hoped would kick up the series to the next gear. Team TARDIS whilst on a junk world accidentally trigger a Sonic Mine which renders them all unconscious. They wake up on board a medical ship called Tsuranga, with the Doctor the most injured. Finding themselves stuck on the automated ship unable to change its course as well as yet again, finding themselves without the TARDIS which has been left behind on the junk world.

So far this all sounds like fairly typical Doctor Who story telling, and it is as the Doctor and team find random characters on-board from a pregnant man expecting his first child to a famous General receiving treatment along with her android assistant and her brother. It even follows the standard “something happens to threaten the ship” with the newest monster of the week, the Pting who looks like it will quickly become the next must have Doctor Who Plushie and looking more like an angry baby Shrek than evil looking monster.

My initial fears that Team TARDIS was far too large a group for story telling in Doctor Who is only made worse when a group of side characters are introduced and it all just gets a little bit overcrowded. In fact it feels as though many of the side characters are simply introduced to give the different members of Team TARDIS something to do which leaves the story telling very messy outside of what the Doctor is doing. For example, the pregnant man suddenly becomes yet another reason to focus on Ryan, returning to his issues with his dad who we understand left home following the death of his mother. It feel really forced now to see each companion pushed to have a few moments of life changing lessons each episode.

The acting for this episode has to be the most wooden so far with only Jodie Whittaker yet again knocking it out the park as the Doctor but its getting to the point where I do wish that she was almost travelling with Yasmin alone as they keep getting paired together when the story permits it and probably would work far better to not have the noise of Graham and Ryan slowing everything down. Every new character they meet just feels throwaway and forgettable with the performances being god awful cringe to say the least.

Having this series completely focus on introducing new monsters and places to travel is starting to come apart for me as a fan, though I do get the need to refresh so much of Doctor Who after 13 years since it returned to TV, it just feels like filler most of the time like the Pting monster, a small and almost cute creature but is ultra dangerous in that it cant be captured or killed, has the ability to eat anything and even survive in the vacuum of space. Even the design looks as though it was just inspired or at worst, just copied Stitch from the Disney film Lilo and Stitch. More troubling is how the Doctor is constantly saying how she almost remembers names and people that she has just met, but as everything is supposed to be new that means the previous Doctor’s must have encountered these people and creatures somehow.

I really feel that this is all feeling very filler like how the story separates the Doctor from the TARDIS which just feels like a writers way of removing the ‘Magic Blue Box’ to stop the Doctor having an easy way out of the problem but then fails to end the story with a real way of them getting back to the TARDIS other than using something far worse in “oh the planet has a teleportation system back to the original planet you left the TARDIS’. The monster will quickly become a toy just as the Adipose did with the 11th Doctor.

Sadly I really just did not like this episode at all, but at least Jodie Whittaker is still the best thing about this series but I am already bored with Team TARDIS and the annoying way they have to have to be given something to do when all I want to do as the audience is just watch Jodie’s Doctor at work. The lack of a series arc hinting that the Doctor is on the way to meet some big bad is grating on me now, and I do miss it as there does not seem to be any end destination for the new Doctor. Ryan constantly re-evaluating his life as a result of his TARDIS adventures is all well and good but now its just becoming tedious and Bradley Walsh presence feels redundant now with Ryan working things out for himself and Yas becoming the companion that the Doctor appears to be the most impressed with and relies on the most.

This was not a great week for Series 11 and was the least enjoyable for me to watch so far. I wanted this episode to kick off the training wheels but it only showed all the current issues with the new setup which I have been worried about. Not to mention that UK press has been reporting that for the first time in 13 years that there will be no Doctor Who Christmas special episode and instead just having an episode on New Years Eve which may not even have any seasonal content at all leaves me with a concern as to the direction of this series.

It is a shame that after so much promise with this new series and Jodie’s 13th Doctor that the first bump in the road has been the real conundrum here, it could be a result of Chris Chibnall writing so many of the early episodes, which again is not something Doctor Who tends to do but I really want to see the Doctor sink her teeth into more than just a random story of the week which has no real purpose long term.

Final Thoughts

The Recon 200 is available in both white and black, for this review we had the white one.

The headset is very lightweight so you can wear it for extended periods of time without it becoming too uncomfortable.

The headset works well with Xbox and PlayStation and also Nintendo Switch, and also with mobile devices. You may need to buy a headset audio adapter for your Xbox One controller, depending on which one you have, so take a look before you buy, just to make sure.

There is also a switch on the headset to select between Xbox and PS4 too!

The microphone is attached to the headset, but it can be easily flipped up and out of the way if you don’t want to use it. The quality of the microphone is excellent and other people could hear me talking perfectly. You can also adjust the sound of your own voice too with the variable mic monitoring function.

Sound is provided via 40mm speakers and it is of excellent quality, with amplified audio and a bass boost too – your ears won’t be disappointed.

The batteries lasts for around 12 hours of use so you can get a lot of gaming in before you need to recharge them.

Turtle Beach have another winner on their hands, and for the price you can’t go wrong.

The Turtle Beach Ear Force Recon 200 Headset for is available now in both white and black, priced around £49.95, but as usual look around for the best deal.

Review: WWE2K19

As a lifelong WWE fan, I await each WWE2K game release with great anticipation, and in recent years WWE2K games have improved greatly but still sadly not quite reached the Wrestlemania Main Event level fans and myself need them to be. WWE2K19 certainly ticks many boxes on paper including the return of my favourite feature in the ‘Showcase Mode’ and improvements to the Career mode. But after spending some time with it, for all the improvements that have been made, the same old issues still hold it back from reaching Hall of Fame status.

Having the Showcase mode back is perhaps the big highlight from WWE2K19 and not only has it returned but they have also finally been able to do it the way I always wanted it to be done, on a far more personal level with the star. For the return of Showcase Mode, they have sensibly gone with Daniel Bryan, leader of the YES Movement who has returned to the WWE ring after a 2-year hiatus due to injury. The Showcase Mode takes players down memory lane by replicating iconic matches from the star’s career but what makes this year’s Showcase even more special, is that Daniel Bryan himself introduces and talks about each match before you play them, talking about how that match impacted on his career giving a fascinating insight into the life of a WWE Superstar.

Showcase matches have objectives which recreate moments from those matches as they originally happened such as performing a certain move in the ring to doing something outside the ring. Objectives must be completed in order to unlock the next one although some can be time dependent but will come to that a bit further on. It highlights his first matches in the WWE all the way to the most iconic matches such as his Wrestlemania 30 title win and as a fan of his, this is a true celebration of his career and his return to the WWE not to mention just having him talk about those matches is a lovely touch as previous Showcases simply had a WWE style video with narration that gave little of the experience the actual star had such as Stone Cold Steve Austin’s showcase from WWE2K16.

Where the Showcase does fall down is however something that is also a problem for me in the whole gameplay of WWE2K19. At times the AI deliberately works against you when it comes to certain objectives and as you move through to the later career matches, the AI can be a real hindrance which stops the match from being fun. In some matches where the objective is to position the opponent outside the ring to perform a particular move and they simply refuse to co-operate. I actually had to drop the difficulty to easy just to complete some of the final objectives as the AI just drove me nuts in refusing to do as told or movement bugs made it close to impossible to complete an objective. Outside of that frustration, it is great to have this mode back and the presentation style of involving the star of the showcase is something I hope they keep going forward with the series.

My Career mode has also been revamped so that this year, actual superstars provide their own voices instead of the extremely dull and boring text only style of previous games. It does add some much-needed weight and immersion to actually hear the real voice of a superstar when engaging in dialogue exchanges even when at times, that dialogue is truly cringe awful. It actually has a real soap opera story to how your created character finds their way to the WWE, not the best written one but still works well even if it still has Daniel Bryan as the GM of Smackdown. Creating a superstar with their move-set and entrances now involves unlocking items from item boxes, which thankfully are all earned from playing the My Career mode which is also generous in providing the tokens used to buy the item boxes. This can feel annoying at first as you are left with only default generic items to customise your wrestler and basic moves and entrance styles, but thankfully you will soon start unlocking real superstar moves and items which you can enhance your created wrestler with. The skill tree is also very handy as you build your wrestler’s talents up which again, playing the game gives you the points needed to unlock these which will help when taking on the main WWE roster in the mode. It has a nice RPG feel to it and it does work as you can instantly feel the performance of your created wrestler improve once more skill points are used. I actually quite enjoy the My Career mode this year even with all the corny dialogue but is saved by having the WWE superstars voice themselves.

Universe mode is back and is just as good as previous years but helped by the refinements to the visuals and true to life entrances now for the superstars. I have always gravitated towards Universe mode as you help shape your own rivalries for the superstars and title matches as you take control of every match for RAW and Smackdown each week before the main PPV for either brand. Having the ability to be your own Vince McMahon as well with the power to edit the WWE Universe to make new tag teams or factions, move superstars to different shows and manage who is champion or not really allows full on customisation and a personal fav of mine is look on YouTube to see the fantastic fan made Wrestling federations using this mode online. It is also just a great way to get to use all the roster and match types as you follow whatever show line up the AI comes up with for the mode

A surprise came in the new WWE2K Towers, which very much like the battle towers from Mortal Kombat, will offer players the chance to take on WWE gauntlet runs which differ in match types and opponents. All of these are practice really for the WWE2K19 $1 Million Tower which is the hardest tower in the game as you take the role of AJ Styles and with only a single healthbar, must taken on the best of the WWE Roster on Legend difficulty in various match types as you fight your way to the Beast Incarnate himself, Brock Lesnar. So far, I have only managed to make it through the first 3 matches before being beaten but this is a great addition to the game which actually feels quite organic as a mode.

Sadly though, some of the usual suspect problems are still present which is drives me nuts as a fan of the series because most of the problems have been complained about in previous games and still have not been addressed starting off with the submission mini game system added a few games back which no fan has liked and yet is still used an absolute ball ache to try and use in the game if for example like me, you prefer to use submission finisher moves. The problem with is that no matter which version of the submission wheel you use, the one which is a never-ending chase the segment in the wheel type or the button mashing one, it just never seems to actually work. I can put my opponent firmly beyond the red damage zone which should make a submission move a no brainer only for the AI to suddenly defeat me making it more about the mini-game instead of any damage actually done in the match. I prefer the old button mashing style which reflected the limb damage you have inflicted to this and until they remove it or rethink this method, it will always be something players will complain about.

I will say that the animation is the best it has been in the series yet and the evolution of the chain wrestling has made the matches more life like than previous games but there is still a real clumsiness in the grappling that is far too noticeable from the off that it is hard to see how none of this was smoothed out before release. Trying to throw the opponent into the corner can be hit and miss and trying to perform grapple moves on someone running the ropes is also just as bad which is a shame because so much of the movement now has been enhanced to look so good. Using weapons however is my biggest annoyance as the new animations for say using a chair or kendo stick means unless you line it up perfectly, you can completely miss the target leaving you looking like a complete muppet in a match. It really is a shame that this clumsiness takes some of the shine off what for me is not only the best-looking WWE title yet in the series, but you can see the improvements across the board that having these time old problems still so prominent in the gameplay is bewildering to me how they have not been focused on for fixing.

WWE2K19 is the most solid title in the series yet despite the faults, and with the return of the Showcase mode and the new presentation style this should be the benchmark version going forward but they really have to look into the long-standing problems if they really want to add some more shine to it. It still has a vibrant creator’s community and new looks for wrestlers and stars not on the roster are all freely available from the community creations area. I still have a problem with how the roster, which will always be out of date when the game releases, uses DLC to bring the roster up to date and I am still very disappointed that Ronda Rousey, current RAW Women’s Champion was only available as a pre-order bonus instead of being included in the main roster, I even have the Gold version of this game and not having her in my roster breaks the immersion when you see her on TV each week on RAW and then starring in PPVs. The first DLC pack is already being teased for having Bobby Lashley in it who has been on RAW for months now making me wish such roster updates were just free for the first release in order to bring it the roster up to date for parity with what fans see on TV.

That said, WWE2K19 is still the must have game for WWE fans and now it feels as though 2K have gotten so many things right based on player feedback that this truly is the best WWE Experience you can have in a video game but with the tools to give real freedom to expand that or enjoy being in the WWE universe as much as a player would want. There is just so much to really enjoy in this game both online and offline putting the series back on the map for me, and if the remaining issues can be addressed then WWE and 2K will continue to give the WWE Universe the video game they deserve.

*On a personal note myself and everyone at MoviesGamesandTech send all our thoughts and best wishes to Leati Joseph Anoaʻi otherwise known as Roman Reigns, who has recently announced he is taking a leave of absence from the WWE in order to battle Leukaemia for the second time in his life. We wish him and his family all the best luck going forward*

Review: GRIP Combat Racing

I love a good arcade racer, a game where you just strap yourself into a vehicle and put your foot down till the race is over. In my early gaming days, it was car combat that was the rage in Destruction Derby, Carmageddon and others all having players compete to do as much damage as they can. Arcade racing has refined over the years but the thrill of going fast and beating other players remained the focus and now we have the best of both in GRIP: Combat Racing, and the old school vibes along made me excited to play this.

Old school is certainly how it felt playing this which for me is a huge plus for the game as I lost 2 hours the first time I fired this up on my Xbox One. The ease of which GRIP is so pick up and play is why arcade racers can be so fun to play and GRIP has that right from the racing line. Set in the future here illegal street racing has now evolved into high impact combat racing, the game allows the player to pick a racing vehicle, choose some colours and boom you are in the action in a training race that really does all you need a tutorial to do as it introduces you to the racing style and the weapon power-ups you can utilities in a race.

Mode wise GRIP has a good selection from the single player campaign to online modes and co-op races. The Campaign will allow players to earn XP to level up which then unlocks new customisation options for your car from new paint patterns to wheels and rims. Sadly, this side is really underdeveloped and most of the cosmetics fail to feel like actual rewards at all, especially the tyre options as to be fair, you are moving so fast in a race you are never going to pause the game so you can appreciate how good the tyres look on the car. The racing tournaments in Campaign mode can differ in locations and AI difficulty with the first few tournaments offering no real challenge to players with AI that quite frankly never feels as though it can actually beat the player in a race let alone the very obvious rubber banding technique that keeps the Player and AI cars in a competitive reach even if you crash your car continuously off the track just to be teleported back and finding yourself catching up with opponents with annoying ease.

There is some strategy in how and when you use the weapon power-ups you collect in the race and you have two slots to fill with them, activated by using the controller’s bumper buttons. These power-ups can be either attack or defensive in nature such as the shield that can be activated to negate enemy attacks from behind to a quick speed boost to either close the distance or gain distance from the other cars in the race. A Gatling gun can be used to slow down cars in front of you at close range but the Scorpion tracking missile is my personal favourite as you time the firing once you have a lock on confirm on a car in front and watch it soar before making that final hit allowing you to take the lead with a satisfying “see you later sucker” moment as you blast past.

GRIP uses what it cheekily calls ‘Carkour’ in that for the race you can find yourself driving on the track and its walls and ceiling and at speed this can feel amazing. The tracks themselves are designed to allow this fluidly and will even incorporate the need to switch between them in a race with road blocks on corners to force you to take to the walls or jump ramps on the track that will flip the car onto the ceiling. I will say though at times this can feel a little disorientating when travelling at speed and it is very easy to lose sight of the other racers on the track with vehicles switching between them. Some of the tracks can be very hard to see in terms of where bends are coming up that require you to switch lane and well, to put it politely, many of the tracks themselves are rather boring to look at with no real effort put into their presentation to make them stand out or memorable.

There are visible attempts to not only showcase the inspiration taking from 90’s arcade racers such as Rollcage and even Wipeout as GRIP tries to compliment the racing with some musical tracks to pump the player up but this attempt only made me remember playing Wipeout, which is visually superior and excelled at having a kickass soundtrack to race to. GRIP only really serves to remind the player that this game did not have the same budget as the recent Wipeout Remastered collection and whilst what it does is ok, it certainly is nothing special. The limitations lead to the boring looking tracks and lacklustre soundtrack which fail to ignite the racing action for the player and the customisation options feel almost pointless to make your car standout in any ‘cool’ way.

GRIP: Combat Racing feels like a nostalgia game which has clearly taking inspiration from a love of the same game types from the 90s and it fails to be anything more than just that. Visually it looks bland and never manages to leap off the screen in a way more modern style combat racers such as Mario Kart for the Switch or Wipeout on the PS4 manage to do. The combat can be fun but it all feels far too basic to offer any real challenge and whilst the races can be fun to play, there is little there to grip the player to keep playing for very long, if you pardon the pun.

I appreciate what this game tries to accomplish and for a time, it did manage to remind me of those games I loved to play back on the original PlayStation but in 2018 it had to do more, offer more and be more than just a nod back to gaming era best left to nostalgia then the selling point of a modern-day racer. GRIP: Combat Racing is fun in split screen with friends and it really comes to life in the Deathmatch mode which with online play does extend the game beyond the dull campaign, but it fails to really do enough to make it a must have title and I can see this quickly becoming a freebie with either PS Plus or Games with Gold down the road.

Review: LEGO DC Super Villains

Fish and Chips, Ice-cream and sprinkles, bacon and eggs are just a few examples of perfect partnerships that work together fantastically. When it comes to video games putting the universe of DC Comics and the world of TT Games’ LEGO has always been something very special for me as a fan of both and LEGO DC Batman 3: Beyond Gotham has to be my favourite game so far. Not to say the MARVEL LEGO games are not amazing but there is just something about them visiting the DC universe that elevates everything to new heights. So, when the big twist came in the announcement that the next chapter in the LEGO DC series was going to be focusing on the iconic Super Villains of DC, my fanboy glee was off the chart. Thankfully, the game more than lives up to the promise the name of it created.

I completely fell in love with the idea of this game as soon as I watched the first announcement trailer as I have been hoping for them to return to DC for quite some time but never actually considered them making the villains the stars of the game. Something else I never actually considered was giving the player the ability to make their own Super Villain and make them the lead star of the story, so even before pressing the Start button my excitement was off the scales. It is such a brilliant idea to incorporate a system that has always been a side part of all LEGO games, the character customizer but to actually write it into the story itself is rather refreshing. In fact, it is the first thing you get to do as a player in the game as the opening sees Commissioner Gordon bringing criminal files for Lex Luthor himself to review, one of which is of your player. You can decide the gender of your super villain, costume, weapon choice and skill set that they will start with. You can also decide if they are a speedster or not which doesn’t actually count as a super power but will mean they will have super speed by default if you choose.

As you play through the game, your super villain will learn new super powers as part of the story as more become unlocked through new characters or story events, so even if you are unable to give your created character the superpowers you want to begin with, by the time you complete the main story you will be able to go full on with the powers you want them to have. Now I have a great imagination and decades of comic book reading experience across both DC and MARVEL comics to draw on, but just imagine the younger audience actually getting to create their own character to put in the game and how awesome it will be for them to both play and see their character on screen. My very good friends’ little girl was kind enough to help me create my first character for the game in ‘Laser Girl’, with her trust baseball bat named Lucille and the super power of laser beams and it was amazing to see this little lady get so creative in making her own character for the game which can be fully edited at any time especially when new characters are unlocked to the roster and new items are unlocked to be used in the customizer.

The story itself is also one of the cleverest so far for a LEGO DC game which will see the Super Heroes of the Justice League mysteriously vanish only to be replaced by the Justice Syndicate who claim to have been asked to watch over the Earth as the Justice League are on a secret mission off world but nothing is as it seems with these guys. Coming from a different Earth in the DC Multiverse, they are similar to the heroes we all know but also different so for Superman we have Ultraman and Super Woman instead of Wonder Woman, Power Ring for Green Lantern and Johnny Quick for The Flash. Lex Luthor and the other Super Villains begin to suspect that something is not quite right here and soon it is very clear that the Justice Syndicate may actually be the evil versions of the Justice League, and instead of celebrating their chance to run things their way, they realise that in fact, they may have to actually be the heroes instead or risk these new super powerful villains taking over the world instead of them.

The best part of TT Game’s doing DC over them doing MARVEL is that they are able to bring together the iconic voice acting cast from across DC animation and TV that fans will no doubt know and love. Kevin Conroy, Tara Strong and Mark Hamill provide the voices for Batman, Joker and Harley Quinn which alone would be something incredibly epic but then they also went into the Justice League animated series for some of the characters with Clancy Brown as Lex Luthor and Michael Rosenbaum as The Flash and not to mention even visiting the CW ArrowVerse with John Barrowman voicing Malcolm Merlyn and Brandon Routh voicing Shazam and The Atom. Now sadly not every character is voiced by the talent fans will know, it was a shame not to have Tim Daly voicing Superman for example, and die-hard fans will notice who is missing, but the very fact they managed to get so many of the original voice actors for this game alone makes it truly special and impactful.

The story is really well written and paced very nicely across the levels which will have the player not only controlling their own created character throughout but also additional super villains as the Legion of Doom investigate what the Justice Syndicate is really up to. Levels will take players all over the DC Universe from Gotham city to Metropolis and even Apokolips War world itself and can put groups of characters together to play as during levels. The level of detail in the animations of each character just shows the passion of TT Games team when it comes to all thing DC and the little extra touches in their powers and skills had me smiling like a numpty throughout playing this game. It will be absolutely worth just playing as all the different characters you can to experience how different they are even if they have the same skills or power set. Levels are multipart and blend in well with the sections of just getting to the next story missions which can be a little free roam as well as having their own story element to them.

The puzzles are all pretty simple and will not be taxing even to a younger audience playing and feature puzzle styles seen in the most recent LEGO Games so will be very familiar to players. Something I thought they did really well is that as tradition with all LEGO games, is that in order to 100% a level for collectibles you will need to come back once you have completed that level and repeat it in Freeplay mode which allows players to use any character they have unlocked on the roster. What I really appreciated was in how these sections which can only be done in Freeplay mode will tell the player that, previous games do not do this so you will only find out by failing to do it the first time but in having the game tell the player right away it can only be played in Freeplay not only saves time but also points out where to go when you do replay the level in free play mode. What I would recommend is to actually complete the main story first before going back in Freeplay as it just makes the game more enjoyable and fun to do it that way, for me at least anyway.

The roster itself is huge at 162 and will only get bigger when the DLC packs release for the game and yet again, the Season Pass is kept at a very respectable pocket money level of £11.99 which is something I love about the LEGO Games in how it keeps the DLC so affordable. With DLC packs that will focus on the Aquaman film due out at Christmas and the CW DC ArrowVerse and more, there are plenty of reasons to invest time into this game in the months to come. The roster itself is pretty great just as it is in the main game with all the villains you can name and a few you may not as well as other Super Heroes who get a moment to shine as well. Outside the main story levels there are side quests and races to unlock more characters and vehicles offering a massive amount of content to play. Unlike MARVEL Super Heroes 2 which suffered a limited roster due to licensing issues so it had to leave out X-Men and Deadpool which was noticeable for fans, having all the DC characters here just makes this a real joy for DC Comics fan of any age which boosted by the staggering humour of LEGO games really makes this a true no brainer to have in your collection.

I really have to commend the passion and attention to detail that the TT Games team have put into this game which can be seen in the animation of characters, the story and voice cast for the game and in just how much effort has been put into making this such a fantastic game to play. The combat has been refined so feels more fluid although boss fights can still feel clumsy in their execution but the animation definitely feels as though it has been tidied up say compared to LEGO MARVEL Super Heroes 2 which is a good thing. There are times however where the camera itself can be more of a nuisance then a help in certain set pieces and when the group of playable characters is big, switching between them can be annoying and fiddly.

But overall LEGO DC Super Villains is a highly polished and well thought out game that highlights the very best of the LEGO games series and of the DC Comic book universe and is just incredibly fun to play and even more so to see all the little nodes and Easter eggs as a die-hard DC Comics fan. I am having such a great time unlocking the rest of the roster and just being in the LEGO DC universe which is exactly what I hoped this game would offer for me.

Being a Super Villain has never been more fun, and being bad along side Joker, Lex Luther and the evilest of all villains in Condiment Man is a superb way to celebrate all things DC and LEGO.

Three UK Launches New “Live” 4G+ Technology To Improve Internet Speeds

0

Three UK has today announced that it has launched new 4G technology to improve mobile internet speeds by between 15% and 33%, targeting areas that are experiencing a boom in mobile internet demand.

Over 2,700 sites across cities such as London, Birmingham, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Glasgow have been upgraded to enable ‘carrier aggregation’, which combines Three’s 4G spectrum bands to release its full power potential and ensure customers have speedy interest wherever they are.

The new ‘live’ technology responds to mobile internet use in real-time – kicking into action during periods of high data use. Those people with devices that support carrier aggregation technology (around 50% of devices on Three) will experience a significant improvement in service and will know they are using the new live 4G technology by the 4G+ sign that will appear on their phone.

Alongside this all of Three’s 10 million customers will reap the rewards of the new technology as capacity across the entire network is freed up – allowing them to use their phone for the things they love. With the average Three UK customer currently consuming 3.5 times more mobile data than the industry average, it is expected to significantly improve the mobile experience for customers, while also serving as a crucial building block for the development of Three’s 5G network.

Dave Dyson, Chief Executive at Three UK, said: “Three customers are the highest consumers of data, with this trend expected to continue for several years. As we ready our network for 5G, we’re moving quickly to put the right technology in place to deliver the most reliable mobile experience for our customers. This latest innovation plays a critical role in ensuring our customers will be able to make the most of their mobile devices, both now and in the future.”

This news follows an announcement in September where Three UK, O2 and SSE Enterprise Telecoms released details of a fibre agreement that will form the basis of enhanced fibre access in London, paving the way for further 4G and 5G deployment by connecting cell sites and masts through Thames Water’s wastewater network.

What’s in the box?

The box contains the chair and all the components needed to build it – and it is very well packaged.

A Closer Look at the Chair

Putting the Chair Together

The instructions contain easy to follow steps to putting your chair together.

Here you fit the wheels in the base.

And this is what it looks like.

Then start to piece it together.

You need to remove some bolts, fit the two pieces of the chair together and then refit the bolts.

Then place the plastic protectors over the sides of the chair covering the bolts.

Then turn the chair upside down and fit the lever piece.

Then place the chair onto the base, and that’s it, your chair is ready to use.

Final Thoughts

As I mentioned earlier in the review, the chair comes very well packaged and protected. Putting the chair together was fairly simple and straightforward, with easy to follow instructions so you can’t go wrong.

The chair not only looks great, and smells great (it has that new car leather smell) but it is incredibly comfortable too!

You can raise and lower the height of the seat with a pull on the handle, making sure you can get in into the most comfortable position for whatever you want to use it for, whether that’s gaming, watching movies, working, or just sitting in it!

The armrests can also be moved into various positions for optimal comfort.

The seat back can also be reclined allowing an 85 -155 degree adjustment, so you can almost be laying flat if you want, and you can also tilt the chair to whatever position you want it in.

All the adjustments you want to make are simple and don’t require much effort at all, meaning you can get the chair set up to your perfect comfortable position within a matter of moments, and if you want to change it, then you can easily do so.

I mentioned that the chair was incredibly comfortable, and it really is. The chair itself is made out of high density memory foam sitting on a strong durable steel frame. When you sit it in you feel both comfortable and secure. And you also get free cushions for your lower back and neck which are also easily positioned and help to make you as comfortable as possible.

Movement in the chair is easy, whether thats turning around, rolling into a new position, or adjusting the positioning as we already mentioned.

If you are the market for a high quality, incredibly comfortable gaming chair then you really should look no further than the E-Win Europe Flash Normal Series FLA Ergonomic Office Gaming Chair, it really is the one to beat. And it would be a great Christmas present for the gamer in your life too!
