Done! I had to reboot my router after doing this, but after that was done, this server’s network cards were getting the same IP address every time the router rebooted.
OK, I know what you are thinking, isn’t setting the manual IP address on the router enough? In most cases, yes, that is all I have had to do. With the 5big NAS Pro, though, until I performed this belt-and-suspenders configuration, setting this up on both the router (using address reservation) and the 5big NAS Pro, I saw some flaky connection performance with Wuala. I recommend setting it up in detail on both sides, the router and the NAS, to prevent issues. The QNAP NAS unit that I am using functions just fine with simple UPnP and remote access, so my opinion is that LaCie has a little fine-tuning to do with their UPnP and Wuala interaction, but if you follow this recommended setup, I expect that you’ll have a great experience with remote access and Wuala. Now for the fun part!
Configuring 5big NAS Pro: Remote Access

Log onto the Dashboard.

Select Network. Select the Remote Access tab.
Select LaCie MyNAS from the dropdown, and enter the name that you want to use. LaCie MyNAS will check availability and confirm that you can use that name. Click Apply and you are done.
If you ever want to test or edit the connection, click on the Pencil icon and choose your relevant option. This is a very easy setup process.
