Add to Nexia System

The next step is to enroll the new lock into your Nexia account. See my Nexia installation post here for step-by-step instructions on creating an account; here, we’ll assume that you have a Nexia account already.

Log into your Nexia dashboard. Click on Security & Sensors.

Now you need to unplug your bridge, remove the ethernet cable connected to your router, and install a 9 volt battery. Take the bridge to the door with the new lockset and press the + sign on the bridge. You MUST complete the following process within 30 seconds.

Open the door and extend the lock bolt. Press the Schlage button on the face of the keypad. Then, enter the 6 digit programming code for your lock (this code is on a sticker on the back of the user’s guide), then press 0. If you see a green checkmark, the lock accepted the command to join the bridge. Wait at the door until the amber light on the bridge stops blinking; this means that the lock and the bridge have completed their communication.

Remove the 9 volt battery from the bridge and plug it back into the power source and your router. Make sure that the large blue button on the bottom of the bridge is illuminated.

Return to your dashboard and click the Next button. If the enrollment worked fine, the bridge will upload the lock data to the Nexia servers and you will see an entry called New Lock. Wait for the New Lock entry to go from greyed out to blue, then click on it and edit your new lock.

If this step fails, repeat the pairing process between the bridge and the lock.  Make sure that the bridge and the lock complete the data transfer before plugging the bridge back in.  Let’s assume that you succeeded in pairing the bridge and the lock.

Give it a name; I named mine Front Door as that is where it is installed. I decided to leave Lock & Leave active, meaning that you don’t need to enter a code to lock the door on the way out. I turned off Auto Lock as that locks the door automatically in 30 seconds; I often have the door open and unlocked when talking with neighbors. I don’t want to have the bolt extend and then close the door, damaging the door frame. When you are done, click Save Changes.

You’ll be at this screen again.
