I only had a motherboard with a 3Gb SATA port for testing…

The read test produced an average speed of 259.8 MB/s.

The write test produced an average speed of 242.2 MB/s.

And here are the file benchmarks:

So expect higher figures when connected to a 6Gb SATA port.

Final Thoughts

If you want a fast SSD that is compatible with 6Gb SATA ports, then you should really take a look at this drive.

The inclusion of Acronis to clone your existing drive was a good move.

Price wise, the PX-256M2S retails for around £333, so it isn’t cheap, but then SSD’s are not cheap, especially for 256GB ones!

  1. Yea,it’s great,it’s fabulous. it just don’t have a little damned bracket or converter to install it in 3.5″ case chassis!!!
Don’t waste your money like me!

    • a bracket is easy to come by and only costs a few pounds, that’s what I did for mine. Some of the boxed versions of the SSD do come with a bracket, but they charge you more for it.
