UEFI Boot and Windows 7 Load
If you have an motherboard that can dual boot to UEFI then you can install the 3TB as a system drive!

After the logo screen I press F2 until I get to the BIOS.

I then go to Advanced and then change IDE to AHCI. If the drive you are installing is older you may have to use IDE and change Native to Legacy. The new 3TB drive supports AHCI and Native so I use that. If you get a controller error using AHCI and Native settings during the installation then start over and switch to Legacy and IDE.

I then go to Boot and move the TSSTcorp (my external USB drive) to the top of the boot order. I also enable UEFI boot.

Mental Note: I could not get a SATA DVD or IDE DVD player to load Windows in UEFI. I could not get UEFI to load with a USB stick either. My only success was using the external USB DVD drive. If you cannot get it to load you should try an external USB DVD drive. Again, this was the only way I could successfully load Windows in UEFI.
I then press F10. This saves the changes and exits. The BIOS then restarts.

I then press F10 to get to the Boot Menu. At the same time I load the Windows DVD and close the DVD tray. Do not close the DVD tray prior to this step.

If you have successfully enabled UEFI, and inserted a Windows 7 installation DVD, then you will get a UEFI option in the boot menu. If you do not get the UEFI option then start the process over again because something is not correct. All Windows 7 DVDs can install a UEFI OS.

After you select the UEFI option then press ENTER on the keyboard and then start hitting the space bar like crazy. If you try using the ENTER key again it may go back to the Boot Menu. Just use the space bar. Seriously.

Windows will now start loading into the memory.

Mental Note: As long as you selected the UEFI option then Windows 7 will do the rest. If you did not select the UEFI option then the system will load the BIOS version of Windows. You do not want this so make SURE you have seen all of the screens as I have shown you so far!
Windows Installation will now start. You had better of selected that UEFI option!

I managed to install UEFI Windows 7 on my Intel DG41WV Motherboard by following the steps above, the only difference was that i managed to install it with an internal SATA DVD drive.
I popped the disc into the drive, rebooted the PC and at the boot menu it showed me
internal uefi shell : (name of my DVD drive).
It seems that the BIOS scanned the disc for the efi file. When the disc was not inside, there was no such option. Just a tip to those who don’t have a spare external usb dvd drive around.
Thanks for this tutorial, I manage to install the Windows 7 Prof as downgrade of Windows 8. Only the BIOS settings have to be change in order to boot to a UEFI Downgrade of Windows 7.
