So make sure you follow those instructions and open the ports on your firewall – it only takes a few moments and it works a treat.
You should also change the user name and password to something that only you know.
To connect you must type in to the browser: http://external ip address : base port. So for example, if my external IP address was 192.168.1.110 and I left the base port as the default, I would enter http://192.168.1.110:8080 (and yes, I know that is an internal address) ![]()
When you then connect you will be asked to enter the user name and password to continue.
You can then click on the channel you want to watch from the available list. So for example, if I wanted to watch BBC1, I would click on B from the top list, and then on BBC1 from the list on the left hand side.
And then it plays….
You can also select a different quality stream by clicking on the relevant link on the top right – just remember the higher quality, the more bandwidth you will use, so that could be costly if you pay for specific bandwidth.
AND THAT IS IT
And that is it – very simple once you know how and you can watch your favourite channels from anywhere!
Why not give it a go yourself? There are 20 day evaluation editions available so what have you got to lose?
One interesting point to note, you MUST press stop on the stream (either via Media Player or on the web) otherwise the tuner can become locked.
