New Features Revealed for Saint Seiya : Brave Soldiers

After revealing the “Saint Chronicles” mode and the “Cosmic Orb” features, Namco Bandai Games Europe has introduced the “Galaxy War” mode, “Survival” mode and “Collection” mode where SAINT SEIYA fans can check which items they unlocked.

The “Galaxy War” mode will let players organize tournaments where all the Saints and characters from the SAINT SEIYA saga can take part; this mode is deeply related to the “Galactic” Tournament at the beginning of the SAINT SEIYA manga. Players can pick several opponents and level difficulty before battling their way through a Single-Elimination tournament and be the only king!

The “Survival” mode will allow gamers to battle for their life in a series of fights while they have to complete several conditions to recover their HP bar (example: win a fight in less than 30 hits etc.). The bravest soldiers will have to give their best not to fall in this tough mode!

This new batch of assets comes with exclusive screenshots of our main heroes; take a look at Seiya, Ikki, Shun, Shiryu and Hyoga wearing their Final Cloth armor! Other Bronze Saints are finally introduced in the person of Ichi, Jabu, Shaina and Marin.

The MagPi, a free online magazine dedicated to the Raspberry Pi, whose first issue was released a few days ago, is a perfect example of that. It’s been put together entirely by volunteers, guided by Ash Stone, Jason “Jaseman” Davies, Meltwater and other names you may recognise from the forums and comments on this site. I was broadly aware they were up to something, but I was amazed at the scope of what they sent me to look at earlier in the week, and I’ve been really, really impressed by the first issue. There are Debian and Puppy guides, articles on computing history, ideas for robotics projects, tutorials in Scratch and Python (with code you can type in yourself, just like in the good old days), features about the Raspberry Pi itself, and other goodies to dig into. I really can’t recommend it enough, and if you haven’t been lucky enough to get to the head of the queue, you don’t need a Raspberry Pi to find it useful (you might actually find the magazine good preparation before yours arrives).

Eidos-Montréal, a Square Enix studio, has announced that Deus Ex: Human Revolution – Director’s Cut, the definitive version of the critically
acclaimed action-RPG title, is shipping for Nintendo’s Wii, the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3, and Windows PC on October 25. The Mac version will launch in the near future.

Mega Charizard X Revealed in Pokémon X

If you remember that last month it was revealed that fan favourite Charizard can achieve Mega Evolution, an extremely powerful form that only certain Pokémon can access during battles in the Pokémon X and Pokémon Y video games, launching worldwide 12th October for the Nintendo 3DS.

It is now known that Charizard can Mega Evolve into either Mega Charizard X or Mega Charizard Y, depending on which Mega Stone it holds—Charizardite X or Charizardite Y. When Charizard Mega Evolves into Mega Charizard X, its body turns black and its flames burn blue with increased heat. It also changes types when it Mega Evolves, changing from a Fire- and Flying-type Pokémon to a Fire- and Dragon-type Pokémon!

The previously revealed Mega Charizard is in fact Mega Charizard Y. Players will need to obtain Charizardite Y in Pokémon Y in order to Mega Evolve Charizard into Mega Charizard Y. Mega Charizard Y’s Special Attack increases significantly, and its Ability changes to Drought, increasing the power of Fire-type moves. Mega Charizard Y can use the Fire-type move Blast Burn, which becomes even more powerful with the effect of the Drought Ability.

Mega Charizard X is being introduced for the first time today. Players can obtain Charizardite X in Pokémon X and Mega Evolve Charizard into Mega Charizard X. Mega Charizard X’s Attack increases significantly, and its Ability changes to Tough Claws, which raises the power of moves that make direct contact. This Ability comes in handy when Mega Charizard X uses the Dragon-type move Dragon Tail, which does damage and can force an opposing Pokémon to switch out during battle.

Microsoft Windows extends headline sponsorship of Gadget Show Live and Gadget Show Live @ Christmas for further 12 months.

Following two successful events and 12 months as headline sponsor, Microsoft Windows has thrown its weight behind Gadget Show Live brand yet again by signing up to support a further two shows and increasing its presence by 43 per cent at both events.

Union J unites with Pokémon to celebrate Pokémon X & Y

Pokémon X and Pokémon Y will be released worldwide on 12th October, 2013, for the Nintendo 3DS and Union J will announce its collaboration with Pokémon at a press conference this Friday, 4th October.

George, Josh, JJ, and Jaymi have all previously shown their love for the Pokémon video games on social media—and now the boys, who release their first album this month, will be joining with Pokémon to celebrate the launch of these highly anticipated Pokémon titles.

“When we first heard that Pokémon X and Pokémon Y had been announced, we couldn’t have been more excited and we knew that we wanted to get involved in some way,” says George. “The boys and I are all huge Pokémon fans and we know that the JCats will go crazy when we announce our special news!”

The announcement will be made at 1:45 p.m. on Friday, 4th October.

Linksys has recently been in touch with some suggestions for those of us who provide the IT support in the home. We’ve all been there…”Dad, my iPad can’t get on the internet!” “Honey, that Quicken report won’t print!” Does that sound familiar? Linksys has some suggestions.

Tips for Resolving “It won’t print!”

Depending on your computer’s compatibility with your printer, you will need to install the drivers for your network printer. An installer utility usually comes with your printer when you buy it.

If you have multiple printers at home, your print jobs may be sent to another printer. Always check which printer you are sending your file to every time you send a print job to the printer.

Check the wireless settings of your router. The settings saved on your printer should match the settings of your network.

Check if other wireless devices are able to connect to the wireless network. Otherwise, you might need to configure your router’s wireless settings so that your printer can also connect wirelessly.

If your printer is connected to the network but still not printing, it may be offline. To check if your printer is online, Open “Devices and Printers” on your computer; Right-click on your printer and check if there is a checkmark next to “Set as Default”. If there is none, left-click on the option to select it. Then, print a Test page.

Tips for Solving Common Wireless Issues

If your computer is having difficulties connecting to your wireless network but other wireless computers are able to do so, try to isolate the problem by connecting it to other wireless networks available (coffee shops, stores, etc..).

Power/electricity interruptions may also trigger poor performance or loss of wireless signal. You may solve the issue by performing a powercycle: unplug the router power cord from the power outlet for 10 seconds, then re-plug.

For combating low signal strength, try moving your wireless network devices closer to each other. The common range is up to 100-150 feet and the farther you are from the access point, the weaker the signal (Avoid moving closer than 18 inches from the router as this is considered a wireless dead zone.).

Wireless networks are also susceptible to obstructions that may lead to low signal. Common obstructions are cabinets, mirrors, metal objects, thick walls/ceilings, aquariums and electrical equipment including television sets, microwaves, radios, etc. If these are in the way, consider relocating your router somewhere high to get around the obstruction.

Ideal placement of your router is as high off the ground as possible, leaving a distance of two feet between the router, ceiling and wall. If your signal passes through multiple floors, place the router on the upper-most floor, and high up in the room.
