Ted from SiliconDust just issued an email with an update on the HDHomeRun – PRIME CableCARD Tuner. They also gave an update on pricing, vendor selection and mention they will be at CES. You can bet that Andrew and I will be there to be the first to look at and try out this long awaited tuner!
SiliconDust posted a very interesting press release on their website yesterday. Not only did SiliconDust finalize the name for their new tuner, HDHomeRun Prime, but SiliconDust also announced a partnership with Hauppauge for a new USB CableCARD tuner. Last night I received an automated email from Ceton regarding the production of their InfiniTV 4 CableCARD tuner. No word on a delivery date but at least someone somewhere is turning chips on this product. Another happy email with not a date in sight. Only time will tell as they sure have not.
Back at CES, one of the biggest news items was the announcement of the Ceton 4 CableCard Tuner card for Media Center. Since then news has been a bit scarce, and now the announcement has been made that the card is available for pre-order and will be shipping May 31st.
