Square Enix Ltd., today announced the twelfth instalment in the ‘Letter from the Producer LIVE’ series, featuring producer/director Naoki Yoshida and other development team members of FINAL FANTASY XIV: A REALM REBORN.

Samsung Confirms Unpacked Event at MWC 2014

Today Samsung have confirmed that it will hold its Unpacked 2014 press conference at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) on 23rd February.

With Samsung is expected to showcase its next-generation TouchWiz user interface at the event, and even been tipped to announce its Galaxy S5 smartphone.

Rumour is that the Galaxy S5 will be unveiled at 6pm that same day, and will arrive on the market at the same price as its predecessor, Samsung Galaxy S4.

With rumours of the Samsung Galaxy S5 Specs are the device will feature a 20-megapixel camera with 4K video capabilities also with a new optical image stabilisation. Which includes a 2K QHD display, a “finger print scanner” for security purposes, and a 2900mAh battery.

Today the sixth annual Toy Fair Best New Toy Awards winners were announced this morning predicting some of the top new toys for 2014. Winners range from household names such as LEGO Friends Stephanie’s Beach House (LEGO) and Nerf N-Strike Zombie Crossbow (Hasbro) to innovative new IPs such as My Friend Cayla (Vivid) and Cupets (Flair).

The thirteen categories which produced 39 winning toys from 26 different toy companies were unveiled by Toy Fair organisers the British Toy & Hobby Association on the first day of the show this morning. Toy Fair is the UK’s only dedicated toy, game and hobby trade exhibition, playing host to more than 280 exhibitors launching thousands of new products.

This year, Hasbro and Lego took top honours with three Best New Toy Awards, while Character Options, Hornby and VTech all walk away with two awards.

The Toy Fair Best New Toy Awards are voted for by a panel of independent toy retailers as the 2014 Toy Fair products with the most potential to make a mark on retail throughout the year and beyond. The products include toys to suit every pocket, with a wide variety of price points on the list, from very affordable everyday pocket money spends such as Moshi Kart Collectables (Vivid) and Lil Fishys (Peterkin), through to special event purchases like LEGO CITY Police Station (Lego) and Ancient Dragon Castle (Playmobil).

Since their launch in 2009, more than 150 toys have received a prestigious Best New Toys Award with LEGO topping the chart with 15 awards.

Since “Dead Rising 3” the game launched last November exclusively on Xbox One, the players have killed more than 16 billion zombies more than twice the world population of people and have logged more than 14 million hours of gameplay.

If there wasn’t already enough to do in “Dead Rising 3,” this week will see the release of “Operation Broken Eagle,” the first episode in the game’s “Untold Stories of Los Perdidos” add-on content series. Also Capcom have released a 13 GB update for Dead Rising 3, here are some of the changes fans can expect in this update?. Operation Broken Eagle that is out tomorrow (21st January) priced at £7.99 and features a new mission, five new weapons, one new combo weapon, one new vehicle, a new clothing outfit, plus additional Gamerscore and the ability to carry experience points back to “Dead Rising 3.”

Executive Producer Josh Bridge “We know folks had some frustration when they couldn’t pick up the weapon or food item they wanted if there was a bunch of stuff grouped together. Since there’s always a ton of stuff around in “Dead Rising 3”, we found some use cases and reached out to some fans and we improved that in this update, which is really cool. Beyond that, we’ve got some more telemetry and found there were some issues with blueprints and PP-related achievements and trials.

They weren’t unlocking properly depending on the order in which they were played, whether it was online or offline, so we addressed those. We also looked at various performance improvements. In this type of big open-world game with tons of zombies and the ability to do whatever you want to do, like stacking a bunch of things and blowing them up, we knew we had to improve on those high points and tighten the gameplay experience. Finally, there were some stability issues that we dealt with to make everything that much smoother.”

Here are the release notes for the Xbox 360 version of Battlefield 4, EA and Dice have been busy this week releasing new patches for the game.

Battlefield 4 Xbox 360 update – 16th January

– Various fixes for improving general stability

– Fixed a player feedback timing issue where blood was appearing before other damage indicators, and before damage was actually done

– Fix for bug where it looked like soldier was dying with 1 health instead of 0

– Fixed a bug where players’ rank icons on the scoreboard would not be updated

– Normalized repair rates across all vehicles. Vehicles with lower health points, like aircraft and transport vehicles, now repair more slowly than before

– Fixed problem with killer health in kill card not being correctly updated (showing 100% health even though he was just hurt)

– Fix for friendly marker not always showing when needed to, resulting in players shooting team members

– Fixed a bug where the M1 Abrams Coaxial HMG ammo box was occasionally blocking the driver’s camera

– Increased damage by 25% for the Stealth Jet 20mm cannons

– Stealth Jets now have more similar handling attributes to each other. F35 & J-20 are slightly more agile, Su-50 is less agile

– Attack Jets now have more similar handling attributes to each other, and all 3 are now slightly less agile than earlier

– Fixed camera glitch when switching weapons while moving in crouch

– Fixed an occasional bug where players could experience intermittent engine sound dropouts when driving wheeled IFVs

– China Rising: Fixed animation glitch for motorbike passengers occurring when aiming

– Fix for first and third person soldier animations being out of sync while doing transition changes. This could potentially make the player get hit while in cover behind a wall or other obstacle

– Fix for map and minimap flickering on Rogue Transmission and Operation Locker

Tecmo Koei Europe announced today that upcoming title Deception IV: Blood Ties will be released across Europe on the 28th March 2014 for the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation Vita.

In this imaginative follow up to the classic Tecmo title ‘Devil’s Deception’, first released in 1996 on the PlayStation, players can get a taste of what it’s like to play on the side of evil. Much like its predecessors, Deception IV: Blood Ties is a strategy focused action game revolving around a deceitful main character known as the Devil’s daughter who, assisted by three Daemons, defeats her foes through trickery.

Deception IV follows the story of Laegrinna, an animated fragment of an imprisoned Devil’s soul, as she battles her enemies by mischievously luring them into strategically placed traps. From rolling boulders and spiked walls to spring boards, Iron Maidens, human cannons, falling bathtubs and banana peels, the player can choose from a multitude of dramatic, sadistic, and comical traps in order to finish off an enemy

Setting traps is not enough though, as they need to be activated in turn. Timing also plays an important role, as an untimely activation could result in Laegrinna falling into her own trap or allow her rivals to catch up her. Depending on the manner an enemy is killed or captured the Devil’s three servants: Veruza, Caelea and Lilia (each representing a different aspect of cruelty: Sadistic Torment, Elaborate Death and Humiliating Demise) reward points and upgraded traps

Players will be able to upload their combos online (PlayStation 3 version players can upload their videos to or challenge other players to beat their highest-scoring, funniest, or sadistic combos. Other network elements include leaderboards for total Ark (points accumulated in a level), clear time etc as well as uploading and downloading user created missions (Cross-Quests). PlayStation Vita boasts a few additional features and using the touch screen to select and activate traps

For all dragon fans and fantasy lovers, 2014 is beginning on a high note. The online role-playing game Dragon’s Prophet developed by Runewaker
Entertainment and published by Infernum Productions just received a major update for mounted combat. A trio of healing, tanking, and damage skills are now available for dragons, which allows for a more dynamic combat experience and creates entertaining fights for players to enjoy.

Whether a player wants to specialize in a single area or be more versatile, it’s entirely up to them! But that’s not all: The update also includes the new high-level dungeon “Shrine of Handras”, which offers fresh obstacles for Osirans to overcome.

The new features give the game more depth, let the players develop an even stronger relationship with their dragons, and results in a more dynamic flow of combat!” says Marco Neubert, Director of Brand Management.

Another highlight of the patch is the legendary Dungeon “Shrine of Handras“. Explorers will find the entrance to the fully submerged instance in the southeastern region of Olandra. Inside the shrine, brave adventurers will find a number of belligerent water monsters, dangerous whirlpools, and five fearsome bosses. Only those who have paved the way through the algae forest, past sunken ships and giant clams, will face the final battle with the dragon Handras.

o        Brandishing a huge anchor, Oxient traps players inside the large air bubbles he creates.

o        With wings that overshadow the whole battlefield, Mezani circles from above and attacks the player with strong swirls and strikes.
·        Akeno the Vortex
o        Akeno is a titan on the field of war. Even the strongest heroes have to hide when he attacks. He can toss around players with ease by ramming into them.
·        Handras the Indigo Fog
o        The skeletal dragon Handras is the final boss of the dungeon and exhibits a special, mysterious heart in his chest. Only when the puzzle around the heart is solved do the heroes have a chance of defeating the boss dragon.
