Call of Duty : Black Ops 2 Vengeance DLC preview video

Call-of-Duty-Black-Ops-2_thumb2_thumb.jpg

Get your first look at “Vengeance,” the third DLC Map Pack available for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II Vengeance is available first, exclusively on the Xbox Live online entertainment network from Microsoft beginning 2nd July. Vengeance, the game’s third epic Downloadable Content (DLC) Pack from Activision and its award-winning studio Treyarch, takes players to four diverse locations around the globe, including a deserted tropical island, a destroyed suspension bridge, an abandoned paintball course and the jungles of Myanmar.  Vengeance also serves up a new addition to the game’s esteemed Zombies experience with “Buried,” where the undead residents of an abandoned subterranean Old West mining town have come back to claim their home.

“When it’s difficult to see the line between playtesting and leisurely gaming around the studio, it’s a sure sign that we’ve created something fun with Vengeance,” said Mark Lamia, Studio Head of Treyarch.  “From the four multiplayer maps to our new Zombies experience, “Buried,” Vengeance continues doing what we set out to accomplish from the very beginning of development on Call of Duty: Black Ops II: pushing the boundaries of fans’ expectations.”

Call of Duty: Black Ops II Vengeance delivers four new, diverse multiplayer maps starting with “Cove,” where the stage is set for all-out conflict on this small, forgotten island in the middle of the Indian Ocean, with players battling it out amongst the wreckage of a jet that crash-landed during a smuggling operation gone wrong. Next up is “Detour,” a destroyed suspension bridge, high above an East Coast waterway, packed with scattered vehicles, exposed iron and collapsed pavement where the head-to-head action will play out on multiple levels. The third map, “Rush,” sets the stage for fast, close-quarters engagements in this paintball course turned full-combat arena, giving players new opportunities and challenges to use the cover to their advantage. Rounding out Vengeance’s multiplayer maps is “Uplink.” In this re-imagined adaptation of the fan-favorite multiplayer map “Summit” from the original Call of Duty®: Black Ops, players clash deep in the rain-soaked jungles of Myanmar, high atop a hi-tech mountain facility.

Treyarch yet again expands the Zombies storyworld in new, mind-bending ways with “Buried.”  Players meet up with old characters and will encounter new ones as they face off against the undead residents of an abandoned underground Old West mining town.  A healthy arsenal of equipment and weapons that will be at players’ disposal, but with one very special addition – something so powerful it will also appear in all other Call of Duty: Black Ops II Zombies maps (with the purchase of Vengeance DLC): the Ray Gun Mark II.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II Vengeance will be available first, exclusively on Xbox Live for Xbox 360 for 1200 Microsoft Points on 2nd July, with other platforms to follow.

SimCity Update 5.0 out today

0
Maxis are releasing Update 5.0 for SimCity today.
simcity_logo.jpg
There is certainly plenty new to been seen in version 5.0, such as better trading, improvements to great works and fixes for garbage and recycling trucks.
SimCity Update 5.0 patch notes

  • New: Historic Price charts for Global Market resources are available from the SimCity World button on the main menu.
  • New: The Region Wall chat has been completely updated with a new look and new functionality! Chat functions more efficiently and it’s much easier to communicate with other players. Time stamps show on chat messages on rollover. Regional events are easier to read and can be toggled on and off.
  • New: Added a filter for friends’ regions in the join region section.
  • New: Trading control. Added feature to give players more control over their utilities. Players can now choose whether or not to keep their power, water, or sewage local. This setting can be found on the information panel accessible by clicking on the power plant, water tower, or sewage pipe or plant. Sharing with the region is on by default.
  • New: Regional Missions: Added seven new regional missions: Drink It Up!, Plug In, So Stoked, The Wheels on the Bus, Ferry Dust, Station to Station, and Riding Coach.
  • New: Regional Achievement: Added a new regional achievement, Field Trip!
  • Gifting Improvements: Cash gifts are now delivered electronically, not by truck. This should improve the efficiency of gifting.
  • Resource gifts: Resource gifts will happen more reliably. Multiple trucks can make deliveries at once if they are available in the sending city and the truck capacities have been increased.
  • Great Works Improvements: Delivery trucks will mark their resources as dropped off as soon as they reach the Great Works, instead of when they arrive back in the city. This will make tracking time more reliable.
  • Great Works Improvements: Update to have all resources at Great Works handled at the regional level. This will address players in different cities seeing different resources once the server has processed the region and cities.
  • Great Works Improvements: Fixed an issue where an Arcology would maintain power from the region and fixed an issue where shoppers would not increase at the Arcology as it was leveled up. This will update in both existing and new Arcologies.
  • Great Works Improvements: Tuned the Solar Farm.
  • Regional Unlocks: The advanced coal mine unlocks regionally. Fixed issue where the Trade HQ sometimes did not unlock.
  • Fire Advisor Trading clarity: Tuned the Fire advisor so they do not tell you that neighbors are sending fire trucks when your neighbor has no fire stations.
  • Trading: School buses that travel from a neighbor’s city will show that city’s avatar.
  • Regional Commuting: Fixed an issue where Sims would not be able to take transit out of cities with lots of streetcars or shuttle buses. This could cause some cases where commuting Sims could not return home and their homes would go abandoned.
  • Garbage Trucks and Recycling Trucks: Fixed an issue that some cities experienced where garbage and recycling trucks do not leave their buildings or disappeared when trading service with neighbors. Existing cities who have trucks that have disappeared will have to demolish their missing trucks’ garages and plop new garages.
  • Text Clarification: The “Out of Money” message now says “Can’t find work” when appropriate in rollover feedback and the approval rating UI. This is to clarify your Sims’ actual need.

Rhianna Pratchett Collaborates on BeatsBuddy

0

Reverb Publishing and German indie developer THREAKS are proud to announce today (18th June) that Writers’ Guild of Great Britain award-winner and BAFTA-nominated writer Rhianna Pratchett will be assisting with polishing the script and storyline for the upcoming action-adventure game, Beatbuddy.

001Mine_1

Pratchett, who has worked on numerous titles such as the Overlord series, Heavenly Sword, Mirror’s Edge, and the recently rebooted Tomb Raider, learned of Beatbuddy indie studio THREAKS from Grammy-nominated artist Austin Wintory who is creating an exclusive song and level for the game. She was instantly intrigued at the prospect of working with Wintory and the talented minds at THREAKS.

“No matter what you’ve written in the past, it’s the challenges and the people you work with who really matter,” said Pratchett. “I cut my teeth on smaller indie titles, so it’s great to get to do more work in that space again with the THREAKS team.”

Beatbuddy, winner of ‘Best Art’ and ‘Best Sound’ in Intel’s 2012 Level Up Game Demo Contest, implements the innovative idea of allowing players to experience and influence the music in each action-adventure level. Players interact with the environment and a variety of creatures to open paths and solve puzzles throughout their journey. THREAKS has created a breathtaking experience through its patent-pending sound technology that syncs in-game animations with the music.

006Jungle_3

“When we started with the story of Beatbuddy last year, we initially held off contacting Rhianna because we assumed that she’d be too busy or might not be interested in a small indie project,” said Denis Rogic, art director of THREAKS. “It turned out that it was exactly the kind of thing she was looking for. It’s truly amazing knowing that we have Austin Wintory and Rhianna Pratchett providing their talents to our game.”

007_Mine_03

In Beatbuddy, gamers will experience an action-adventure game in a whole new way, which incorporates music into every aspect of the beautiful world. Players interact with the environment and a variety of creatures to open paths and solve puzzles throughout their journey. Beatbuddy will be released by Reverb Publishing later this year on PC, MAC, and Linux.

A look at the Mad Catz M.O.J.O. Android Console at E3 2013 with video

Last week at E3 we got to speak to Alex “The Big Boy” Verrey about Mad Catz new M.O.J.O. Android console.

DSC_2637

M.O.J.O. is basically a supercharged smart phone with no screen that plugs into your flat screen TV to bring the living room experience to mobile gaming. M.O.J.O. is designed to interact seamlessly with our GameSmart controllers, mice, keyboards and headsets, in fact, the entire eco-system of gaming peripherals.” said Darren Richardson, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Mad Catz Interactive, Inc. “We also want M.O.J.O. to be a truly open platform. People are already comfortable buying games from Google Play, Amazon, TegraZone or any other retailer of their choice. They play those games on their phones and tablets already, and with M.O.J.O., they will be able to play them in the living room at no additional cost. The same approach applies to movies, music and any other digital media. Our focus is on providing the best hardware configured for performance, not forcing people to buy content from us.”

M.O.J.O. is expected to include the Mad Catz C.T.R.L.R Wireless GamePad. A true, console quality controller, the C.T.R.L.R features both Bluetooth classic and Bluetooth Smart (4.0) technology which provides ultra-low latency, interference free gaming and exceptional battery life. In addition, the C.T.R.L.R features a ‘Mouse-Mode’ which allows gamers to enjoy many software titles originally designed for a touch interface in the comfort of their living room.

And here is Alex to tell us more:
