The Arctis Nova 4X Wireless headphones offer incredible technology at an affordable price point. Moreover, they are ridiculously comfortable to wear, extremely versatile, and have an amazing battery life. Additionally, they look great whilst maintaining SteelSeries’ excellent brand quality.

These all-plastic headphones should feel cheap and nasty. However, they look great and feel even better. Thanks to the plush earcups and the ComfortMax system, you can wear these for hours without issue. Alongside this, it uses AI-powered noise-cancelling to enhance the microphone pickup, and it delivers low-latency audio to improve your gaming experience. Furthermore, you can use these headphones on multiple platforms, and that makes these even better value for money.

What’s in the box of the Arctis Nova 4X Wireless headphones?

  • The packaging is undeniably beautiful. The bold writing and striking images are complemented by the strong grey backdrop. What’s more, there are “Xbox Green” accents to highlight its usability. Finally, every element of the packaging can be recycled or composted, and that was phenomenal.
  • The Arctis Nova 4X Wireless headphones are a thing of beauty. Though I normally dislike plastic accessories, I adored the stylish finish. The earcups are large, deep, and comfortable. Furthermore, they are labelled with an R and L to ensure correct usage. Each earcup has tactile buttons and dials to alter your settings. This was great as you can change things on the fly. Alongside this, there is a retractable mic and a mute button. The headband is robust and the ComfortMax system (a textile band) can be adjusted with ease.
  • The USB-C dongle allows you to wirelessly connect with any suitable media or entertainment device.
  • The USB-C charging cable is rubberised and long enough to do the job.
  • A USB-A to USB-C female jack USB extender. Use this cable to connect the dongle to your Xbox, PC, or other devices.
  • User manual and stickers.

Technical aspects.

Gaming headphones have to deliver incredible audio and crystal-clear dialogue. Unsurprisingly, the Arctis Nova 4X Wireless headphones didn’t let me down. Not only do they sound great, but the microphone is unbelievably precise and the lack of background noise is amazing. Thanks to the High Fidelity Drivers, your audio experience is out of this world. Additionally, the use of Sonar software makes for a game-changing endeavour.

If you are so inclined, you can adjust every element of your headset with the incredible Sonar Software. However, this isn’t necessary if you are a bit of a technophobe. Consequently, if you want a trouble-free time, then you can just plug and play and get on with the task at hand. Yet, if you like to tweak things, the incredible software is user-friendly and free to download.

Another key element if you are using wireless accessories is the battery life. These headphones deliver a monstrously large 36 hours of gaming off of one single charge. Alternatively, if you are short on time, you can plug them in for 15 minutes and enjoy 6 hours of uninterrupted gaming.

Spatial audio.

No one likes listening to flat sound effects or music. Luckily, you won’t have to endure a torrid time whenever you use these headphones. The Arctis Nova 4X Wireless headphones utilise 360° spatial audio. This is a game-changing experience that immerses you in every world, film, or TV series you are enjoying. This feature is fully compatible with Microsoft Spatial Sound and Tempest 3D audio for PS5.

Alongside the spatial audio, you’ll enjoy low-latency sound thanks to the Quantum 2.0 Wireless Dongle. This tiny device can be plugged directly into any USB-C port or you can use the extender for your PC, laptop, or gaming console. Furthermore, a handy switch lets you seamlessly connect between Xbox or any other platform. This was great as it makes it a versatile device whether you are gaming from home or enjoying mobile gaming during your commute.

Chat in peace.

Gaming is meant to be a peaceful and calming experience. Yet, we all have those friends that make party chat uncomfortable! Maybe they have their kids running amuck in the background. Alternatively, they’ll have animals squawking, barking, and howling. Now, we all understand this can’t be helped, but boy, oh boy, it is annoying. Thankfully, though, if they use this headset, that problem will be a thing of the past.

The AI-powered noise-cancelling technology is brilliant. No longer will you hear the constant clacking of typing or the mumbling of children in the background. Instead, you’ll enjoy crystal-clear dialogue without the horrendous background noise. This feature makes the Arctis Nova 4X Wireless headphones worth their weight in gold.

Build quality.

Does the sound of an all-plastic finish make you shudder? Normally, it should. However, these lightweight headphones feel robust and pleasant to wear. Additionally, the ComfortMax system ensures that you have a snug-fitting headband without putting pressure on your skull. Consequently, you can wear these for hours without realising.

Another factor to consider is the AirWeave memory foam earcup cushions. The wonderfully soft and cool padding never becomes clammy or sweaty. Moreover, the earcups are perfect if you wear glasses.

The placement of the buttons and the dials ensures that you can adjust the controls with ease. Not only can you change the chat and game balance, but you can alter the main volume and mute your microphone without entering your console or PC settings. Accordingly, these headphones are user-friendly and simple to set up.

Are the Arctis Nova 4X Wireless headphones worth it?

SteelSeries is renowned for its high-end gaming peripherals. Unsurprisingly, the Arctis Nova 4X Wireless headphones continue this fine winning streak. Not only do they deliver exceptional sound quality, but they look amazing as well. Moreover, they are extremely lightweight, yet robust and rugged, and spatial audio is a game-changer. Additionally, the microphone is incredible and the AI-powered noise cancellation makes online gaming much more enjoyable. As such, these headphones blew me away and I recommend that you buy them here!
