Nokia announced a new entry-level Windows Phone handset at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this week.

The funky Nokia Lumia 610, with a 3.7-inch, is aimed at teenagers on a budget who want a smartphone with social networking, music, Web browsing, gaming and apps. It’s the most affordable Lumia so far.

Nokia Lumia 610

The secret of the Nokia Lumia 610 is that it uses slightly less processing power and memory than the other Lumias but will still give teenagers exactly the kind of Internet experiences they are looking for.

This arrives via the bright Live Tiles on the Windows Phone homescreen, with the unique People Hub which puts all your friends, family and people you care about most in one place.

It also lets you read Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn feeds. The Lumia 610 is perfect for sending individual or group shout-outs via text, email or IM conversations.

And the smooth Internet browsing via Internet Explorer 9 and Bing search gets you exactly where you want to be on the Web.

Coming in four colours, white, cyan, magenta and black, the Nokia Lumia 610‘s metallic looks offer individual style choices which appeal above all to the youth market.

Additionally, tens of thousands of applications at the Windows Phone Marketplace – with a try-before-you-buy choice of the world’s best mobile games – makes this phone the perfect introduction to Lumia and Windows Phone at €189.

And then there’s Nokia’s signature experiences.

When it comes to music, there’s something to suit all tastes thanks to Nokia Music (38 countries) with MixRadio (15 countries) and its 100 channels with selected locally-relevant tracks from a 14-million song catalogue.

And Nokia has announced Nokia Reading providing a single, integrated reading hub experience. Nokia Reading makes it easier and faster to enjoy news, books, and audio books including an extensive catalogue of local language reading material and the ability to access content offline.

Access to Nokia Maps, Nokia Drive, with turn-by-turn navigation, and Nokia Public Transport add even more value to the Nokia Lumia 610 package.
