Weird Things
I did notice a couple of weird things when doing screenshots for the review though.
The first was that my iPhone 4 warned me that the accessory was not optimised for the phone! Not that it mattered though.
The more annoying one was occasionally I got an error telling me there wasn’t enough space on the SD card, even when I put in a brand new card and it had only backed up about 8 photos. Starting the backup again seemed to cure it though. But its just a bit annoying, especially if you were going to leave it running overnight.
Final Thoughts
It goes without saying that even if you don’t backup your photos and contacts with the SuperHero every time you place your phone in the cradle, at least it will be charging.
So I quite liked the SuperHero. For me, having both a charging facility, and a backup facility all rolled into one is a great combination.
I would have preferred that the backup of the photos was quicker, significantly quicker, but maybe that will come with time and updates! To be honest, it is only really an issue when you are away from home, or without the computer you sync with, because if you regularly sync your phone to iTunes your photos will be backed up anyway.
The software was very simple to download and use – there really isn’t much to it other than starting the backup with a press of your finger.
Price wise, the SuperHero retails for around £60 (although you can probably find it a bit cheaper if you look around). So, it isn’t the cheapest device on the block, but when you consider you get a charger, a 4GB SD card, the backup software, and most importantly the piece of mind that your contacts and photos are backed up when you are away from home, then £60 could be a small price to pay.
I know I will be taking mine with me whenever I go away!
