The port replicator is very small, and adds both an external monitor port and also an ethernet port. You can easily carry it around with you and you wouldn’t even notice it was there.

The power supply is tiny, and unlike some previous Vaio model power supplies, it comes with quite a lot cable!

This particular model comes with two batteries. Obviously the larger battery provides a longer battery life, but it is noticeably thicker than the standard battery, so depending on what you want to to with the Vaio and where you want to use it, and for how long, you may choose to leave the larger battery at home.

When the larger battery is attached, it slants the notebook which actually makes it easier to use, on a flat surface. It’s not a huge difference in size, but it is enough to notice it, and also the weight. Certainly with the extended battery on you couldn’t slide it into your back pocket like Sony show on the marketing materials with the standard battery. But really would you want to? How many would get broken that way? The picture on the left has the extended battery attached, the one on the right has the standard battery attached.

THE DESKTOP

The desktop is very clean and clear, although the size really does take a little bit of getting used to.

PERFORMANCE

Looking at the Windows rating, you can see it only scores a 2.3. This is because of the gaming graphics rating, however the process was only a 2.7! But look at the primary hard disk score, its a 6.1! My main desktop, with a 2TB Western Digital drive only gets a 5.9!
