If you follow my reviews, you’ll know that I’m a sucker for amazing tech. I’ve worked with Turtle Beach many times, but I think the latest product release must be one of their most eye-catching options to date. Not only do I love the cool, summer colours, but the 6-zone customisable RGB is to die for. It has gamers clambering to add one to their collection, but sadly, it is out of stock. Therefore, I feel very lucky to be reviewing the Pacific Skyline Wireless Controller.

This exceptional multiplatform peripheral feels fantastic to hold. The ergonomic design reduces fatigue, and I could hold this controller for hours. Furthermore, the TMR thumbsticks, mappable rear buttons, and multimodal connectivity make this a premium device without the price tag. Accordingly, if you want to improve your gaming rig without breaking the bank, this summertime vibes gamepad is the way forward.

What’s in the box of the Pacific Skyline Wireless Controller?

  • The packaging is attractive and interesting. Moreover, it can be recycled.
  • The Pacific Skyline Wireless Controller feels like an official Xbox pad. It is officially licensed and has all the bells and whistles you expect. However, it is slightly lighter and has 2 rear buttons.
  • A 10-foot USB-C cable is provided.
  • Connect it wirelessly with the USB transmitter.
  • Learn the basics with the user manual.

Technical aspects.

The Pacific Skyline Wireless Controller is remarkably advanced for its affordable price. Available for under £80, this controller offers premium tech at a fraction of the price. Mappable rear buttons, adjustable RGB, wireless connectivity, and future-proof TMR analogue sticks make this stand out from the crowd.

The rear mappable buttons can be adjusted on the fly. I’m not a massive user of these inputs, but they are great if you love shooter games. They are well-positioned and adjusting them was a breeze. Moreover, the actuation distance is comfortable, and fans of this arrangement will adore how easy they are to use.

The RGB can be customised straightforwardly. The hidden skyline can remain so, if you wish. However, when it looks so good, why would you not show it off? Changing it was a cinch, and selecting the right colour pattern to match your personality was a walk in the park. Subsequently, you can have a vibrant pad with limited technical know-how.

I’m a fan of wireless and wired gaming. Therefore, the Pacific Skyline Wireless Controller was a big hit. I stuck with the wired option, but the wireless approach delivered low-latency gaming through the USB transmitter. Alternatively, you can use the Bluetooth functionality to connect to your mobile phone or tablet. This alternative connection was user-friendly, easy to use, and convenient. Additionally, the latency was low, and the performance excels as a result.

Usability.

Customisable accessories can be a bit of a stressful option. Will they be difficult and clunky to use? Will the software be tough to navigate? Or will the buttons be a minefield to master? Thankfully, the Pacific Skyline Wireless Controller is none of these things. You can use it as a plug-and-play peripheral if that is your thing. Unwrap the accessory, connect the wire, and make the most of the straightforward design. This will not appeal to elite gamers. This band of exceptional players will adjust every element. This is where the mappable button and other core areas come to the fore.

Despite the layers of adjustable components, every aspect is simple to master. The RGB and mappable buttons can be changed with ease. Additionally, connecting it to multiple platforms was a straightforward task. The rechargeable battery keeps you in the game for hours, and the USB cable lets you charge it while you keep playing. Therefore, you have nothing to worry about.

Build quality.

I’m usually a fan of a heavier and more defined gamepad. The Pacific Skyline Wireless Controller is particularly light, but this adds to the low-fatigue design. This is further complemented by the ergonomic shape and comfortable case. Holding this controller for hours was a breeze, and the buttons are well-positioned and feel identical to the official Xbox controller. This gamepad is officially licensed, so you will not have compatibility issues with your Xbox.

The TMR analogue sticks generate some of the most accurate inputs you’ll experience. Furthermore, they reduce stick drift and dead zones. This makes them the ideal choice for elite gamers. The precise movement gives you a match-winning edge, and the thumbstick caps are pleasant to use. Actuation distance is a key component for any gamer. If the gamepad lacks a responsive edge, it can be frustrating to use. Luckily, this controller is extremely responsive and ideal, no matter the genre you are playing.

Finally, the case is made from a hardened plastic. This will resist unfortunate accidents and the odd rage fit. The colours will not fade, and the pleasant colourway will retain its cool summer vibes for years. The RGB is vivid, and the city outline looks incredible against the coloured backdrop. Consequently, this gamepad is a real head turner.

Is the Pacific Skyline Wireless Controller worth it?

There are plenty of amazing and low-priced wired-only controllers available. However, if you want to push the boat out a little and treat yourself to something impressive, the Pacific Skyline Wireless Controller should be that treat. It is incredible! The build quality is amazing, and I love the RGB. Moreover, the ergonomic design and TMR sticks were great to use. Additionally, using it is a walk in the park. Accordingly, it is amazing, and I recommend buying it here!
