Falling Skies Coming to iOS and Android this year

0

The video game publisher Little Orbit, alongside TNT, have announced the launch of Falling Skies Planetary Warfare, the new title available in the App Store and Google Play, based on TNT’s epic drama series Falling Skies. In this free-to-play strategy game for all ages, players can choose a side and join the battle for Earth, either as commander of the human resistance or as an alien invader. The game is available for free on the iTunes App Store here and on Google Play here.

Falling Skies

“Many classic titles have explored the aliens vs. humans conflict, and we wanted Falling Skies Planetary Warfare to be reminiscent of those games,” said Matt Scott, CEO of Little Orbit.  “It will be up to players to pick a side and craft their own strategy to beat challenging adversaries – or their friends.”

Falling Skies Planetary Warfare is set in the aftermath of season three of Falling Skies, TNT’s alien-invasion drama from DreamWorks Television and executive producer Steven Spielberg, and starring Noah Wyle. The game opens with players choosing to fight as humans or the alien force. Once a side is chosen, they must then construct and maintain a base, defending it against swift incoming attacks from enemy forces made up of other players throughout North America.  Fighting extraterrestrial invaders or becoming an alien commander determined to wipe out the human race, players will build up their own militia and battle the enemy in a global wartime bid for ultimate power. Throughout the game, players must manage their resources including metal, food and ore, before an enemy attacks and steals it out from under their nose…or chitin.  By training and deploying troops, players can build prestige and accrue additional resources for their side.  Additionally, they can access the Global Conflict Status to check on the progress of all players, both human and alien combatants.

Falling Skies Planetary Warfare adds a new dimension to the powerful drama of Falling Skies,” said Dennis Adamovich, senior vice president of digital, affiliate, lifestyle and enterprise commerce for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies (TCM). “This game is a great way for fans to immerse themselves in the world of Falling Skies, playing their own part in a war that will decide the fate of humanity.”

Falling Skies is a fantastic show, and we’re going to be exploring some fun storylines with the writers as the new season gets closer. This is a new opportunity for new and old fans to play a game that will evolve as the plot on television evolves,” says Scott. Falling Skies Planetary Warfare is now available for iOS and Android platforms.  A console game is planned for Fall 2014.

Building on the highly successful release on console, the PC version sports full Steam integration and online cooperative play for a true Double Dragon experience. In its console debut, Double Dragon: Neon revitalised the franchise with an updated look and good ol’ fashioned street fights. The world’s most iconic arcade brothers Billy and Jimmy Lee are back in a reboot of the classic side-scrolling beat-em-up that fueled a generation of gamers. When Marian is kidnapped by the evil forces of the Shadow Warriors gang, the brothers set out to win her back and take down their chief nemesis Skullmageddon. Along the way, players will take on hordes of street-gangs, guzzle gallons of soda and rock out to some stellar tunes in the form of ability-enhancing mixtapes.

double_dragon_neon_1

Fans of the series can expect all of the classic Double Dragon action, including punches, kicks and some of the gnarliest thugs around! In addition, players have a dedicated evade button that makes it just a little easier to avoid enemy attacks. When timed perfectly, evading an attack can boost offensive strength for a short time for some devastating results. In local and online co-op players can ‘high-five’ to share health, ‘psych’ up their comrades for special moves and revive their fallen partner. As the duo beats their way through five beautifully rendered environments, they’ll come across soda to restore health, key items, and mix-tapes scattered throughout each level. The tapes have unique abilities, and you can equip two tapes at once to create some killer combinations. In addition, tapes also stack allowing players to customise and intensify the effects of each cassette.

Call of Duty: Ghosts DLC Onslaught gets date for PS3,PS4 and PC

0

Activison and Infinity Wards Call of Duty: Ghosts players on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC will have access to the first DLC Pack – Onslaught
– on 27th February.

COD Ghosts Onslaught_Containment Action

New multiplayer maps in Onslaught include:

  • Fog: A chilling homage to classic horror films, set alongside the banks of a murky lake, players skilled enough to pick up the map’s unique Field Order can become the embodiment of evil and don the mask of Michael Myers, one of cinema’s most iconic horror characters, as the entire soundscape changes to the eerily familiar  Halloween Theme music.
  • BayView: A coastal Californian boardwalk that offers players fast-paced run-and-gun gameplay amid a seaside town. Clever players will be able to climb onto the map’s moving  trolley to engage enemies, as well as call in devastating artillery strikes from the Naval Destroyer anchored offshore.
  • Containment: This map drops players into a raging battle amidst a war-torn Mexican village, where the action centres on the crippled remains of a small bridge holding a hi-jacked truck leaking radioactive material.
  • Ignition: Onslaught’s fourth map is a completely reimagined version of “Scrapyard” – the fan-favourite multiplayer map from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, placing players into a deserted  space launch facility with frenetic action amongst abandoned warehouses, flame trenches, a massive transport crawler, and dynamic map elements that can take players out if they’re not paying close attention.

Onslaught arms players with the Maverick, a deadly new, dual-purpose addition to their multiplayer arsenal. Outfitted with a lightweight wood stock and a digital screen display, players can choose to use the Maverick as either an Assault Rifle or Sniper Rifle, depending on their tactical needs.

Anchoring Onslaught is “Episode 1: Nightfall,” the first instalment in Extinction’s new, four-part episodic narrative. As the initial foray into this single, connected story that will be told across each DLC Pack launch throughout the year, “Episode 1: Nightfall” takes fans to a remote research facility hidden deep within the Alaskan wilderness, where a small recon team must infiltrate the facility to find out what happened to the mysterious Nightfall Program. This expanded Extinction storyline introduces new characters, plus two all-new alien species, and debuts an exclusive Venom-X weapon that pulverizes the Cryptids, as players delve deeper into the story of what happened following mankind’s first contact with the Cryptids in Colorado.

Fans can purchase Onslaught as either a standalone DLC Pack for a suggested retail price of $14.99, or purchase the Call of Duty: Ghosts DLC Season Pass.  Season Pass holders not only get all four epic DLC Packs for the discounted suggested retail price of $49.99, but they also get instant access to the downloadable multiplayer map, “Free Fall,” as well as the Team Leader Digital Pack, which comes with a unique multiplayer character head, weapon camo, reticle, player patch, player card and player background.
