Review: Telltale’s Guardians of the Galaxy Episode 5

Telltale’s first trip into the MARVEL Universe has certainly been a mixed bag for me with sadly more downs then ups. Now we have reached the finale episode and much is at stake for the Guardians thanks to decisions I have made along the way. I had a lot of hope going into this final episode that it could go out as well as it had started for me but sadly it failed to get me hooked on a feeling!

*Spoiler Warning for choices made in previous episodes*

So where are the Guardians as I jump into the finale, well thanks to previous player choices I have made, they are broken up. By choosing to side with Rocket in the last episode Gamora has left the group following the death of her sister Nebula and Groot has left with Mantis. Drax is also dead, having chosen to sacrifice himself to save the others by taking it upon himself to go fight a giant cave worm in the hopes that it will bring him to his family in the afterlife. Not to mention that Hala, who was sometime infused with the power of the Infinity Forge after I made the decision to destroy it, is now on a killing spree in her attempts to draw out Starlord in order to get her revenge.

Yeah, the Guardians are in a mess right now, but then this is exactly what the whole point of this series has been. Right from the opening episode in some very forced dialogue exchanges, the seeds were sown that Peter would have the arduous task of trying to keep the team together with various dialogue exchanges with characters shaping relationships either good or bad. But this always felt flat to me, especially when you consider that the game uses one of the more annoying Telltale storytelling mechanics of the “no win scenario” where the choices given to the player to shape character relationships mean whichever option you take, you lose as someone always ends up walking away unhappy. For me this had always been Rocket as his desire to leave the team was threatened right from the start and right up to Episode 4 but then it all suddenly switched around with a choice to try and win his loyalty back resulted in Gamora then leaving instead which for four episodes as the least likely outcome.

The biggest problem with this finale is that this aspect really became the entire point of the story, with Hala suddenly become a fight you kind of have to do but everything else revolved around getting the band back together thanks to a sudden reveal by Mantis, who conveniently returns with Groot just at the right time, that she has the power to find people just by using the emotions of a people to reach out to find the ones they care about. This serves not only to waste about ten minutes with some really empty gameplay which is supposed to have some kind of emotional reaction to each one but it only unravels previous events. For example it really only cements the fact that all through this series the focus for Peter has been on keeping Rocket, Gamora and Drax happy with those three and where they are before the final fight with Hala. It is just so lacklustre in the delivery that fails to have the effect Telltale wants it to have. Worst thing is how it quickly nullifies the dramatic ending to the previous episode with Drax thought dead, actually just sitting on that rock looking a little upset he was left behind even though it was his idea to make that sacrifice. It was just all a little anticlimactic which didn’t help or feel like any sort of journey completion for me.

The opportunity for Peter to play the leader and “getting the band back together” overwhelms the finale pushing the fight with Hala into nothing more than an afterthought really and very lame quick time event fight which felt clumsy in its execution. That really is the main issue I have had with this as a series, too much filler and padding and not enough real substance. It does have some nice touches though but these are few and far between with the only real stand out moment being the opportunity to pick one of the songs used through the series to play during the final battle and credits. There is just so little to really do here that it was not surprising that the length of time for the achievement to pop for completing Chapter 5 of this episode came just six minutes after completing Chapter 4. In fact looking at the achievements and it does seem as though many players on Xbox One have already abandoned this series as each one had a Diamond status with less than 4% showing for other players having completed the same chapter.

Overall I am just really frustrated with this game series from Telltale as it features from fun and nicely put together moments between the Guardians but so much of this series just felt like filler around a very short story that barely fits into the traditional five episode run for Telltale games. The series began with the Guardians making short work of MARVEL big bad Thanos which was surprising but quickly became more of a tale of how the Guardians are as a family with Peter responsible for trying to keep the team together and happy. But when you realise midway through the series that most of the player choices are forced into taking Path A or B, you just feel robbed of any real ownership of those choices. Now I could go back and decide not to destroy the Forge for a different spin on the story but I still feel as though the team breaking up as it did would still happen just as it did, someone would threaten to leave and if I was to focus on them to try and change their mind it would only lead to the other choosing to go and pretty much certain that Drax would always sacrifice himself to fight a giant space cave worm thingy.

It lacked the impact it could have had as I always ended up thinking about the film version of the Guardians which when the soundtrack kicked featured different and perhaps less known songs, made this look like a pale version of the Guardians of the Galaxy at times. Voice acting is good but it still suffers the bugs and annoyances that all recent telltale games have such as visual bugs or unresponsive QTE moments. The main story could have easily been wrapped up in three episodes so that is an additional two episodes of just delay tactics and padding to make this a full series. Though there is a tease which would hopefully make for a good follow up series, this first attempt fell flat both in terms of gameplay and satisfaction for me. This series was not all terrible but still by no means the best Telltale could have done with the license for my money when you see how well they have taken to the Batman universe in two seasons.

If we are to get a second season then I hope Telltale focus more on the fun the Guardians can and should be having and spend less time filling the obvious gaps in the story design with empty padding and just go full on guns blazing with a cracking story. For an ensemble piece they could do well to go back and look at Tales from the Borderlands, which had multiple characters and a strong story that made each episode fun to play but here it just felt like a couple of episode too many for this story.

I really hoped to like this series especially with such a strong opening episode but it hit the rocks quickly and sadly just never recovered.

Xbox One X officially launches in the UK so I went to my local Game store

0

With the launch of the new console from Microsoft the Xbox One X out today, I was lucky to go to my local Game store (Maidstone in Kent) in the UK, for the launch of the new console. The store was very busy for a launch for a new console.

The first thing you’ll notice after firing up the Xbox One X is how quick and smooth everything feels. The Xbox dashboard can sometimes feel a little clunky, with 1-2 second delays moving between screens and the occasional freeze-up or glitch.

There’s none of that on the new machine. Navigating the user interface from tile to tile is rapid and responsive – everything seems to happen with satisfying immediacy.

Load times are also dramatically reduced. I tried out a couple of notoriously slow loaders and found that the delay between launching the game and actually getting to play it has been slashed.

With Witcher 3 takes 1 minute, 45 seconds to load on the One S – on the One X that’s been cut to 47 seconds.  With the likes of Grand Theft Auto 5 is up and running in an incredible 27 seconds, down from 1.07 on the One S.

The speed boost is all well and good, but all the extra power is in there for one main reason – to produce stunning 4K graphics. And that’s where things get a bit tricky.

There will be plenty more to come, but at the time of writing there are only a handful of games that have been optimised to take advantage of the One X at full throttle, so it’s difficult to judge exactly how much of a leap forward it represents.

Assassin’s Creed Origins might be your best bet. It looks absolutely amazing in 4K. Ancient Egypt is beautifully rendered with gorgeous textures on sand and stone. It takes full advantage of HDR too – hangs around for sunset and you’ll see some stunning reds, golds and blues as the sun goes down over the desert.

Some games, such as Gears of War 4, let you choose between playing in 4K with a 30fps frame rate, or in 1080p at 60fps in “performance mode” if you prefer smoothness over increased resolution. It’s nice to have the option, and hopefully, this will become standard practice with new games for the system.

I would like to say a big thank you to Game Maidstone (@GameMaidstone) and Neil Suitters the Microsoft Territory Manager for the South East.

Despicable Me 3 Q & A with Miranda Cosgrove

In Despicable Me 3, actor-singer-songwriter, Miranda Cosgrove (iCarly) returns to the world of Minion mayhem. As the voice of Margo, eldest daughter of Gru & Lucy (Steve Carell and Kristen Wiig), she finds herself in the series’ latest installment on an extended family vacation – visiting Gru’s long-lost twin brother, Dru in the wacky world of Freedonia – when her parents lose their jobs at the Anti Villain League.

Discovered by a talent agent when she was 3-years-old, LA native, Miranda Cosgrove, is best known for her starring role as Carly Shay on the hit Nickelodeon series, iCarly (2007-2012). She made her film debut in 2003 opposite Jack Black in School of Rock, and voiced the character of Margo in the first Despicable Me (2010) and its 2013 sequel, Despicable Me 2, for which she received a Kids’ Choice Award for Favourite Voice from an Animated Movie.

Q: Where did we last leave your character, Margo, and where do we find her now?

A: In Despicable Me 2, Margo has a huge crush on a boy, but that doesn’t really work out because Gru doesn’t want her to like boys. Of course, it also turns out that the boy’s father is a super villain which doesn’t help either (laughs). That’s kind of where her love life left off. And then in this movie she has another encounter with a possible love interest, but she’s not exactly excited about it (laughs).

Q: Was your dad overprotective with you, growing up, like Gru?

A: Oh yeah. My dad is like Gru in a way (laughs). Even now, he doesn’t get excited if I’m going on a date or something. He’ll just ask little questions, here and there. I guess it’s just a thing dads do. They never want to see their daughters grow up.

Q: What’s it been like for you playing this character over the course of so many years?

A: It’s cool. When I started I was 14, and the character is 11 or 12, so it wasn’t that much of a stretch. Now I’m 24. It’s a big difference. But I guess I’m kind of lucky, because my voice still sounds the same. And it’s fun to get to use your imagination in the booth and channel being that age again.

Q: Is it a hard to do?

A: No, I wouldn’t say it’s hard, especially because the directors are so cool. They make it really easy, coming up with so many ideas on the spot.

Q: The series ranks amongst the most successful animated movies ever released. Why do you think they’re so popular?

A: I think it’s two things. First, there are the Minions. It’s hard not to enjoy watching them do what they do. And then also because each film has been about family, especially with the first film centring on Gru becoming a better person by adopting the three girls.

Q: What was it like making that first film?

A: It’s funny; one of the things I remember loving the most when I started, was their crazy looking dog (laughs). I don’t think I realized when I was just hearing about the story how crazy some of the animation was going to be. It wasn’t until maybe halfway through filming the first one that I even got to see pictures of the Minions. I don’t think I even knew they were going to be in the first film.

Q: So, in a sense, it should be somewhat easier making the films as you go along?

A: I think it is. It’s just really comfortable and easy now.

Q: Tell me a little bit about working with Pierre Coffin, who in addition to having a hand in directing all the films in franchise, also voices the Minions.

A: He is just so cool. And I’ve enjoyed getting to know him. Still, it’s funny. I’ve seen him at premieres and stuff, but mainly getting to know him has always been over Skype, because they do all the animation in Paris. The directors Skype-in and I talk to them inside of the little recording booth, where I can hear them in my headset. It’s funny getting to know somebody really well that way. But it works really well.

Q: How long does a typical Despicable Me recording session take?

A: Not very long, but they are spread out.  I’ve been in about 12 or 13 times for this movie over the course of the last three years. But every time I came in, it was less than an hour. It’s not too intense or crazy. I’m sure Steve Carell stays much longer (laughs)…

Q: Did you ever get to record with Steve or Kristen Wiig?

A: No, we actually all record separately. But I got to know Steve Carell pretty well, just from doing the publicity for the films and from meeting him over the years, and he is just super cool. One of the funniest people I’ve ever met. I’ve really enjoyed getting to know him.

Q: Tell us about the new Minion in DM3.

A: Well, my personal favourite Minion is still Bob, the one who has different coloured eyes. I actually have a toy Bob. So for me, he’s kind of the sweetest, the most loveable. And Mel is now the second. I really like him too. It’s kind of like a love-hate relationship between him and Gru in this movie. I thought it was funny how he’s the one leading all the other Minions to stray from Gru, to try to find somebody who really wants to be a villain still, but then in the end he’s the one who misses Gru the most. It was so cute.

Q: Did you get to keep any toys or collectables from the film?

A: So much stuff! But my dog’s absolute favourite toy, it’s not a dog toy, but after the first film, they came out with a pink version of the dog that’s in the movie. And my dog is obsessed with that toy. If I take the toy out of her toy box, she gets all excited. She loves it.

Q: You received a Kids’ Choice Award in 2014 for your work in DM2. How important are younger audiences for you today and awards like the Kids’ Choice?

A: It’s an honor. I think it’s definitely cool that the kids get to vote and they get to pick their favourites. They’re in charge and they rule that whole award show, and I like that. You know it’s really fun to be a part of something like this – I mean, I’ve even met 3 and 4-year-olds, and that’s also been awesome too – to see how happy it makes little kids.

Q: Do older kids often connect you with the character?

A: They come up to me and ask for pictures and sometimes and they’ll say, “I know you’re Margo in Despicable Me”. It’s like they know a secret (laughs). But I can kind of relate to that because when I was a kid and went to see animated movies, I’d try to figure out who the voices were too.

Q: I read that you started working when you were 3-years-old. Is that true?

A: Yes. An agent came up to my parents at a food festival here in LA when I was 3, and I started going on commercial additions and things like that. But I didn’t do much until I was maybe 8.

Q: That’s still a long time, does it still feel fresh?

A: You know, I feel like I’m always learning new things. Even with this movie, learning more and more about animation, I’m always learning things that I never knew.

Q: Do you ever miss the iCarly gang?

A: Well, my best friend is Jennette McCurdy, who was on iCarly with me. I saw her last night. So I don’t miss her, because I see her every day (laughs). But everybody else, for sure. I only get to see them once in a while. I definitely miss them.

Q: I understand you’re studying for a degree now?

A: Yes – I’m going to USC (University of Southern California) and have a year or so left. I’m studying film and screenwriting.

Q: How does it all fit in with your work schedule?

A: Basically it’s been really easy, because I haven’t ever done both at the same time. I’m either at school or taking a semester off to act.

Q: And your music?

A: I think I’m leaning more towards acting now. I love comedy, and I’d love to be on a good comedy TV show. I still like music too. I think that’s why I like the show Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. It’s one of my favorites. It’s a comedy and she also sings in it. I think if I were to sing again, it’d be fun to do something comedic.

Q: Are there plans for more Despicable Me films? Would you be up for DM4?

A: I don’t know if there are any plans, but I would be completely up for it. I’ve had a great time making all three movies. I mean, I think it could be fun to see the girls help Gru and Lucy now that they’re a kind of a family of superheroes.

Despicable Me 3 is available on Blu-ray and DVD now from Universal Pictures (UK)

In a nutshell, it’s a suped-up Xbox One, adding 4K gaming, enhanced performance and a few other bits and bobs. When is it released? The Xbox One X is released worldwide on 7th November 2017.

All of your games and Xbox Game Pass work with an Xbox One X? all Xbox One games (including Xbox One Backward Compatible titles), Xbox Game Pass subscriptions, and accessories will work with an Xbox One X.

With the increased power of Xbox One X, many games will achieve more consistent framerates, faster load times, improved anisotropic filtering, and will run at their peak resolution if the title features dynamic scaling.

Will you need a 4K TV to benefit from the Xbox One X? No. The power provided by the Xbox One X allows developers to use techniques like supersampling, anisotropic filtering, and others to produce a better 1080p image.

Additionally, games will have the ability to run at higher framerates and with faster load times. What is supersampling?

Supersampling is a technique game developers can use to improve graphical fidelity. By utilising the additional power of the Xbox One X, developers can process images at a higher resolution, and then scale them down to fit the display resolution the player is using. Supersampled images reduce aliasing (commonly referred to as “jaggies”) and generally look “cleaner” to the naked eye compared to a non-supersampled image at the same resolution.

Review: Super Mario Odyssey

It almost seemed like a crime that one of Mario’s best outings came out on Nintendo hardware that not a lot of people had the good sense of investing on. Fortunately, the release of Super Mario Odyssey on the Nintendo Switch sees the company back in the game with an impressive user base that had presumably been eagerly awaiting Mario’s latest outing.

Review: Assassin’s Creed Origins

It has been a long two years since I was climbing iconic buildings in my home city of London in Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. In those two years the Assassin’s Creed video game series has been placed under various microscopes by both fans and those who became frustrated in the yearly release schedule and Ubisoft finally managed to release a full cinematic film which also received a mixed reception from fans and critics alike. Now celebrating its 10th Anniversary as a series, Assassin’s Creed is looking to reboot and refresh itself and following a full year without a new game, it is finally time to see what Ubisoft has spent the last four years working on and to see where it all began for the Assassin’s Brotherhood. Time to go to Ancient Egypt!

As a fan of the series I will admit the thought of actually seeing where and how the Brotherhood of Assassin’s really began is thrilling. The series has always shown Assassin’s as they either discover their own heritage in the Brotherhood or forced into it by acts of the Templars. The war between the Assassin’s, the defenders of free will and the Templars, who believe that complete domination and control of mankind will lead to peace. The fighting has raged for centuries but the origins of it and of both sides has never been looked out in the series until now.

This time we are introduced to the man who would become the very first Assassin, Bayek who one of the last Medjay, a cast of warriors sworn to protect the people of Egypt from harm. Bayek unwittingly uncovers a shadowy group known as ‘The Order of the Ancients’ which leads to the death of his own son. Fuelled by rage and vengeance, the game catches up with Bayek one year after he began his personal mission of revenges as he closes in on the person he believes is responsible but it only serves to open a whole new startling world for Bayek which will see him come into the paths of iconic historical figures Celopatra and Julia Caeser as the plot thickens and the people of Egypt are placed in danger.

The first thing that struck me was just how absolutely stunning and beautiful the visuals are in Origins from the lighting to character models and how impressive the world of Egypt has been recreated for this game. The opening section which sees Bayek navigating through an old tomb stopped me in my tracks just to take in the lighting and detailing on the surroundings. This only becomes more staggering once you actually step foot into the world itself and take in everything around you as you see the pyramids on the horizon and ride over the sand dunes of the desert before finding settlements and towns as you travel. It is perhaps one of the most visually captivating game worlds I have ever experienced and for the series itself, showcases just how it has evolved from Syndicate which recreated London as a massive playground but in Origins, it is an entire country almost that has been made rather than just one huge city.

Thankfully this neatly brings me into what else has really changed in Origins making it very different from previous Assassin’s Creed games starting with the biggest change, true freedom of exploration in the world. It is very clear and unsurprising to learn that Ubisoft has taken inspiration from The Witcher 3 in its approach to Origins which has become an open world RPG action title really for the first time. The world itself is massive and when I say massive I mean ridiculously huge compared to previous games. As Bayek you absolutely get the sense that you are exploring a country and not just visiting cities to explore and the open world aspect brings this to life like never before. Players are free to explore the entire map as they choose and can either follow the main story-line of quests or picking up side quests as they go. The only attempt to hold players back from exploring comes in the enemy levels which in certain regions can be crazy high compared to Bayek at the beginning but the game will give a fair warning and indication of these enemies by highlighting them with a red skull which means “mess with this lot and you are going to die horribly” so you know whether Bayek is ready to take them on or not. There is something about calling your mount and just heading towards a distant point on the horizon or location on the map and just riding there, taking in the world as you travel. To tempt players into exploring further, the map will be dotted with ‘?’ markers to encourage you to go explore what it might be which could be anything from an enemy camp to an animals lair or settlement. Due to the freedom the game allows players to just go exploring outside of the main campaign, you can spend hours literally just wandering about doing side stuff and when I say hours, I spent almost ten hours in the opening area of Sinwa alone, and that is just the prologue area.

The world just keeps throwing things at you to do which is especially showcased in the amount of side quests on offer either given by random people you meet whilst exploring or part of a side story following the completion of a main story quest. What is remarkable is just how fleshed out these side quests can be, each with a dialogue cut-scene setting out what Bayek is being asked to do. The diversity of the side quests is hugely gratifying to see as you can clearly see the efforts taken to stop them from being repetitious or to be seen as pointless. Each one has meat to them and though some are the traditional ‘go here and kill this person for me’ vengeance missions, often these quests will require some investigation to get to the truth of the matter and they all serve to bring this ancient world to life with some dealing with the people’s belief in Gods and how key this religion was to their way of life. But it also goes a long way to highlight aspects to Bayek as a Medjay and protector of the people and Egypt. Serving as a Sheriff of sorts, Bayek feels responsible for not only keeping the people safe but in protecting the very way of life of Egypt.

Combat has also been refreshed with a move again to a very Witcher 3 style of fighting now. Instead of the usual waiting for an enemy to attack so you can just counter them, the focus has shifted to actual combat with light and heavy attacks using the right bumper and trigger now to create combos with melee weapons. Bayek can use a whole arsenal of different weapons from swords, axes and maces to long reach weapons such as spears. Each weapon as their own style and with the new combo chain system, putting your own spin on combos in battle can yield devastating attacks. Enemies are also far more cunning and can attack as a group with both melee and ranged fire from arrows now, which thanks to the shield Bayek carries, can be defended against. The combat certainly feels new and exciting whether its fighting on the ground or on horse/camel and Bayek is a very capable and skilled fighter which makes it all very satisfying especially when you start to fine tune which weapons you prefer to use.

This is then further enhanced by the skill tree, which breaks Bayek’s skill-set into three groups of Hunter, Warrior and Seeker. Each time Bayek levels up he will become stronger but will also earn ability points to spend on skills to enhance his skill set to either boost his capabilities further or to add new skills. The fact that everything you do in the game gives you XP also helps tremendously from finding new locations as you explore, to combat and completing side and main quests so levelling Bayek up is very natural and never really feels like grinding. Even when you have Bayek up to his maximum level of 40 the XP keeps on coming and simply becomes a way of gaining new ability points to spend. The gear that Bayek wears can be upgraded as well via the refined crafting system which makes them stronger and to those familiar with Destiny, may look very familiar.

As you can see, items are now colour coded into tiers with blue items being common, purple to indicate rare and gold to show legendary tier weapons and gear. In terms of weapons, these can be found from fallen enemies, found from loot or rewards from quests. Blacksmiths can be used to upgrade a weapon to Bayek’s level so say you found a rare spear that you like but it has a level 20 rating and your Bayek is currently level 30, you can pay a blacksmith to raise that weapon’s level to match Bayek. Higher quality weapons can have additional buffs such as causing bleeding or poison, which at first feels very strange for an Assassin’s Creed title but in some fights it is certainly helpful. Bayek’s own personal gear can be upgraded via crafting where gathering materials from looting or hunting can be used to upgrade the gear such as the chest plate to increase health and damage protection to the braces Bayek wears with the left helping his archery whilst the right helps increases melee weapon damage. Believe me when I say that upgraded these to their max levels takes time which is why having just so much content to work through alongside the main story is all there to help players do just that and as a result, the world of Egypt in Origins is just so immersive with everything you are asked to do or just choose to do being a benefit to Bayek. There is also a price for using the Legendary items as well as these are the most expensive to upgrade once found and whilst they truly help Bayek in combat, having to spend 4,5 or 6K in gold to bring them to your current level will take time to do so my tip is to simply get Bayek up to a level where the price of bringing those legendary items a further 5 or 10 levels to match him makes the cost more worthwhile.

The strange thing about Origins is that whilst so much of it now feels new and fresh, it is fair to say that just as much feels similar from the series so far. Stealth works in the same way as does finding vantage points to synchronize with the map and to serve as fast travel points. There is still a modern day story-line which has a new protagonist entering an Animus to relive the genetic memories of Bayek but this is really best experienced via the game which is something Ubisoft made a point of by not showing or talking about anything modern day in the story, something I can fully appreciate as a fan of the series because learning about the modern day side has its own surprises and twists which is definitely best left for the player to discover. Despite all the changes, Origins feels every bit an Assassin’s Creed title, and it has so many wonderful nods to the series just because it really is serving as an origin story as to how the Assassin’s were formed. The story telling can be subtle in delivery but can also dramatically thrust that story upon the player which is why the superb voice acting brings the cast of characters to life. All the changes that Ubisoft has made based on player feedback and their own choices have led to evolution for the series with Origins and the real challenge for them now will be how you replicate this going forward for the series.

When I looked at the time stamp of  my save file and saw it had hit 66 hours with the map full of side quests and ‘?’s still to explore even with Bayek fully upgraded and leveled up, I took a moment to just appreciate how far Assassin’s Creed has come in its ten year life. Origins pays tribute to all the games that have come before it and celebrates the series by yet again, striving to take it to a whole new level both for fans of the series and for potential newcomers to it. The new spin on gameplay and move to a more open world action RPG are a success for me, with the self awareness of acknowledging that the series needed to change in order to evolve for a new generation of players. But it keeps to its core elements and at no time does it sacrifice or forget that has brought the series to this point after a decade of games, instead it brings everything that fans enjoyed and updates them whilst offering a new way to tell an old story. The amount of things to do in this game is mind blowing for just the base game and with more content coming in DLC post launch, Ubisoft has certainly taken the inspirations it has from other games and spent 4 years crafting the best player experience since Assassin’s Creed II.

Bayek has the charm of Ezio but the fury of Connor and his own code and morality becoming the backbone and foundation of the Assassins can be felt in all the previous Assassins that fans and I personally, came to appreciate. Origins rewrites the blueprint for what an Assassin’s Creed game can and should be and has really gone all out to give such an immersive experience that for me just shows the future is still bright for this game series. To know where it all began is rewarding as a fan but as a player, just experiencing the best that this series can do with the gameplay and world setting is gratifying.

Though Assassin’s Creed II will always have a place in my top five games of all time, Assassin’s Creed Origins has revitalized the series once again and showed me that anything is possible both in this series and in gaming.
