On June 29, the Future Tense level will be included as a bonus in the Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped game of the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy.

Developed by Vicarious Visions, Future Tense brings an extra layer of difficulty to Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped’s Future world, as players dodge rockets, destroy robots and leap over lasers while ascending a massive futuristic skyscraper. This brand-new level pays homage to the unreleased Waterfall level from the original Crash BandicootTM game. Soon franchise fans (and speed runners) will have something BRAND WUMPING NEW in Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy that will challenge even the most skillful Crash players.

Additionally, in Future Tense, Crash and Coco will take on some familiar enemies and hazards in new and fun ways. Players will love playing the heart-racing, high climbing level repeatedly to explore hidden areas and experience unexpected moments, including a challenging Death Route. Future Tense will be accessible via a new platform in the Warp Room of Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped, and playable at any point in the game’s progression.

“Adding a new level to Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy was something we always wanted to do, and introducing Future Tense allows us to give all Crash players something new to play just in time for the multi-platform release,” said Jennifer Oneal, Studio Head at Vicarious Visions.

“We hope Future Tense will allow players to re-experience that feeling from the good ‘ol days when they first cracked open a Crash Bandicoot game and had to figure out how to get past a brand-new challenge, or find that one last crate,” added Future Tense level designers Ben Dorsey and Stephen Ivanauskas. “And frankly, Crash Bandicoot levels are fun to make!”

In addition to Future Tense’s arrival to the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, fans on new platforms will also receive Stormy Ascent as a bonus level starting June 29th. Existing Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy owners on PlayStation®4 can download Stormy Ascent starting tomorrow as a bonus level at no additional charge from the PlayStation Store. Capcom announces Devil May Cry 5 coming 2019

0

At the Microsoft E3 2018 Media Briefing today, Capcom announced Devil May Cry 5 will be releasing on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC in Spring 2019.

The Devil May Cry series, known for its blend of high-octane stylized action and otherworldly characters, grew to be a global success since its first release in 2001. The main protagonist of the series is Dante, a demon hunter and son of the Legendary Dark Knight and demon Sparda and human Eva. Throughout the Devil May Cry series, the eternal battle between the forces of good and evil plays out through the lens of this supernatural family drama, as the Son of Sparda Dante, seeks vengeance for his brother’s corruption and his mother’s murder.

Now, 10 years since the last iteration, Devil May Cry 4, Director Hideaki Itsuno and the core team have reunited to conclude the long-awaited Sons of Sparda saga.

Several years have passed in Devil May Cry 5 and the threat of demonic power, long since forgotten, has returned to menace the world once again. The demonic invasion begins with the seeds of a “demon tree” taking root in Red Grave City. This hellish incursion attracts the attention of the young demon hunter, Nero, an ally of Dante who now finds himself without his demonic arm, the source of much of his power. As Nero heads to Red Grave City in his motorhome named “Devil May Cry” with his partner Nico, he ruminates on how everything started. The loss of his demonic arm, the demonic invasion, and Dante’s unknown whereabouts. Things must be settled once and for all.

Capcom’s proprietary in-house RE Engine ensures that with Devil May Cry 5, the series continues to achieve new heights of infidelity, featuring ground-breaking graphics that utilise photorealistic character designs and stunning lighting and environmental effects. The game features three playable characters, each of which offers a radically different stylish combat play style as they take on the city overrun with demons. Adrenaline-fuelled boss fights play out against destructible environments in the striking streets of Red Grave City.

Microsoft Doubles its Game Development Studios and Showcases More Than 50 Games on E3 Stage Including 18 Console Launch Exclusives and 15 World Premieres

0

Sunday’s Xbox E3 Briefing was the largest in Microsoft Corp.’s history with more than 6,000 people, including more than 1,000 fans, invited to attend in the Microsoft Theatre. Microsoft announced it is doubling its game development studios and showcased a record 52 games on stage including 18 console launch exclusives and 15 world premieres. The diverse lineup included games for every type of player, from exclusives like “Forza Horizon 4,” “Halo Infinite” and “Gears 5,” and independent titles like “Session,” “Below,” “Ashen” and “Tunic” to some of the biggest blockbuster games coming in the next year like “Fallout 76,” “Tom Clancy’s The Division 2,” “Kingdom Hearts 3,” “Devil May Cry 5,” “Battlefield V,” “Metro Exodus” and “Shadow of the Tomb Raider,” many enhanced to take advantage of the power of Xbox One X.

“There has never been a more exciting time to be part of the gaming industry, with creators large and small showcasing incredible new games for the more than two billion players around the world,” said Phil Spencer, head of Gaming at Microsoft. “At Microsoft, we are committed to empowering gamers to play the games they want, with the people they want, where they want.”

INVESTING IN DEVELOPMENT OF ORIGINAL CONTENT

Microsoft announced it is doubling its game development studios by adding five new creative teams to the Microsoft Studios family. New investments include the formation of a brand-new studio, The Initiative, the acquisition of Playground Games, and letters of intent to acquire Ninja Theory, Undead Labs and Compulsion Games.

  • The Initiative. Based in Santa Monica, Calif., The Initiative is a brand-new Microsoft game development studio headed by industry veteran Darrell Gallagher that is working to create groundbreaking new worlds, characters and game experiences.
  • Playground Games. Microsoft has acquired U.K.-based Playground Games, a development partner since 2010 that has helped grow the “Forza” franchise to new heights. In addition to its work on this year’s “Forza Horizon 4,” Playground Games will have a team dedicated to bringing their open-world expertise to an entirely new project.
  • Ninja Theory. The relationship between Ninja Theory and Microsoft started in 2000 when “Kung Fu Chaos” was in development for the original Xbox and culminated in the release of “Hellblade” on Xbox One earlier this year. Microsoft’s intent to acquire Ninja Theory will help ensure the creative team has the resources and freedom to bring more ambitious games like “Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice” to fans.
  • Undead Labs. Seattle-based Undead Labs is the creator of the popular “State of Decay” franchise, enjoyed by millions of fans worldwide. In the first two weeks since “State of Decay 2” launched, more than two million fans joined the fight to survive and took down more than two billion zombies. By entering into a letter of intent to acquire Undead Labs, Microsoft is signalling its commitment to growing the franchise and taking the zombie survival-fantasy genre to new heights.
  • Compulsion Games. As “We Happy Few” nears its full, multiplatform release on Aug. 10, Microsoft has entered into a letter of intent to acquire Montreal-based Compulsion Games. By joining the team at Microsoft Studios, Compulsion will have the resources, platform and freedom to take even bigger creative risks and create even more ambitious worlds with its future projects.

“The original games we create at Microsoft Studios are some of our biggest assets,” said Matt Booty, corporate vice president of Microsoft Studios. “Our growth strategy is to continue to expand the worlds that players love, while developing all-new exclusive games that deepen their engagement with our platform. We are thrilled to welcome five new studios into the Microsoft family. We believe these teams have the collective creative power and operational excellence to deliver the next industry game changers.”

The addition of these creative teams reinforces Microsoft’s vision for gaming, which starts with a deep commitment to original content. The company is developing a portfolio of games on every device, including newly announced Microsoft Studios games. Revealed on stage today were three new Gears of War titles — “Gears 5,” “Gears Tactics,” “Gears Pop!” — along with “Battletoads,” “Forza Horizon 4” and “Halo Infinite,” a Master Chief story and the next major release in the franchise built from the ground up on the new Slipspace engine.

0

EA is first up to bat with the official beginning of E3 2018 with the EA Play event. The first major title discussed is Battlefield 5 and all of the improvements coming to the multiplayer. The somewhat surprising reveal from the event is confirmation that Battlefield 5 will feature a battle royale mode (will be launched after the 19th October via update).

Previously immobile defensive weapons are now mobile and the destructive engine that has become a Battlefield staple is enhanced with the ability to reinforce structures in Battlefield 5.

The single-player will be shown off during the Microsoft conference.

E3 2018: Unravel Two Announced at EA Play, Out Now

0

Today during Electronic Arts’ annual EA Play E3 2018 press conference kicked off with quite a lot of new titles shown off, but no one could’ve expected that the big name publisher would be making some of their new reveals available immediately. One such unexpected treat came in the form of Unravel Two, the sequel to the popular original indie title Unravel. The game was developed by the same team of Swedish devs at Coldwood Interactive as the original and it’s looking pretty good.

Unravel Two takes many of the mechanics of the first and adds a few new twists, such as players are now connected to another yarn person and will have to figure out the best way to use their dynamic duo to do things like climb, swing, and tie knots to get through each area.
Players will have to solve many of the game’s new platform-based physics puzzle by either using the two characters in tandem or having a friend join help them out by using the new drop-in, drop-out co-op system.

From the press release: “Unravel Two is about the new bonds that form when we cut ties to the past,” said Martin Sahlin, Creative Director at Coldwood. “Like Unravel, it is a deeply personal game for the studio and our passion and life experiences are intertwined in the fabric of the journey players and their Yarnys will embark on. Unravel Two is about the unbreakable bond between friends and how hope and love can make the world around us a better place.”

The first Unravel was widely regarded for its highly-detailed backgrounds, clever puzzles, and the emotional heftiness of its plot. From all indications, it would seem that Unravel Two has set upon that same path as well. It is a bit unorthodox for EA to release a game that becomes available right after the reveal, but it’s a welcome surprise.

Unravel Two is now available on PS4 (£15.99), Xbox One (£17.99), and PC for £17.99

New Screenshots revealed for Another Sight

0

Lunar Great Wall Studios has today revealed new screenshots that reveal more of the world in ANOTHER SIGHT, due to launch on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch in 2018.

The new screenshots released today showcase more of the world inspired by Neil Gaiman’s urban fantasy, Neverwhere, and brings new areas out from the shadows as more of the world of Another Sight is revealed.

ANOTHER SIGHT is a surreal fantasy adventure with steampunk elements set in 1899 towards the end of the Victorian era, in London. Built on heart, culture and character, ANOTHER SIGHT brings to life our two leading characters; Kit, a refreshingly bold teenager who loses her sight after the under-construction London Underground tunnel she was exploring collapses, and Hodge – a mysterious red-furred cat – she meets in darkness.

Together, they team up for an adventure through the unexpected. Kit and Hodge will need to explore the world both together and apart using each of their unique talents to tackle environments and solve intriguing puzzles. Kit and Hodge encounter a hidden society of the world’s greatest inventors and artistic minds such as Claude Monet, Jules Verne and other long-past cultural icons.

Another Sight Gameplay Features:

EMOTIVE DRIVEN – A story about a girl and her cat companion on a journey beyond sight and the real. A tale of warmth and intrigue is woven throughout the adventure, touching on trust, companionship and losing what we take for granted. Innovative gameplay and a story of the heart is galvanized by a soundscape given life to by a symphonic orchestra to accent memorable moments between Kit, Hodge and the journey they’re on.

MASTERS OF THE PAST – Throughout the journey, Kit and Hodge will meet virtuoso artists such as Claude Monet and other cultural-historical figures from the past, learning more about the world and dangers it presents. Each encounter visually impacts the world, taking on aesthetics of each creative movement from the famous characters Kit and Hodge meet.

HIGHLY CREATIVE GAMEPLAY – Use the unique abilities of each character to help Kit and Hodge traverse the world and overcome environmental challenges. Kit and Hodge can split up to investigate different areas of the locale that the other may not be able to reach, with both Kit and Hodge perceiving the world in very different ways, opening up different possibilities for overcoming their adventure.

ANOTHER SIGHT launches in 2018 on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.v
