‘Gran Turismo 6’ PS4 Version Planned

Polyphony has confirmed plans for a PlayStation 4 version of Gran Turismo 6. CEO Kazunori Yamauchi has said that the company is planning for the racing game to progress “naturally” to the next generation console, reports Eurogamer.

The latest instalment of the franchise was announced this week for PlayStation 3.

“We actually do have a PlayStation 4 version in mind,” Yamauchi revealed at Silverstone. “So for this holiday season, we thought that it would be best for users to release the PlayStation 3 version.

“I thought the best scenario would be to have the game come out, to have new content and new DLCs every month, and updates coming in for the game; and once players have thoroughly played out the system and played out the game, if the PlayStation 4 version just came out naturally in the progress, I think that’s the best scenario.”

President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Jim Ryan said that Polyphony has a tradition of developing the technology of the franchise over different versions of the console.

“If you look at the difference between GT and GT2, and GT3 and GT4, the change is not incremental. It’s absolutely massive,” he said.

“We’re very confident that you’ll see the steep change between GT5 and GT6 as on the previous platform iterations. So there’s that – a sense of very much unfinished business on PS3.”

When asked whether progress on GT6 would be transferable between PS3 and PS4, Yamauchi said: “Probably.”

Gran Turismo 6 will arrive on PS3 in time for Christmas.

The Amusement Park Pack for SimCity will be released on 28th May, Maxis has announced. Anyone downloading the expansion will be able to place a fun park in the middle of their city and both attract tourists and the cash that goes with them.

We recently had the opportunity to sit down again with Insomniac Games CEO and founder Ted Price to talk about their forthcoming game Fuse due for release in a few weeks.

Fuse is a 4-player co-op, story driven action game that forces players to consider what happens when humans exploit alien technology they were never meant to have. Developed by award-winning Insomniac Games, Fuse enables players to use lethal teamwork as they battle a rogue paramilitary outfit that has stolen a volatile alien energy source called Fuse.

SEOUL, May 16, 2013 — LG Electronics (LG) today announced that its Google TVs will be updated with the latest version of the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system. Available in the third quarter, the update will enable customers to enjoy more applications, including games that provide a greater level of interactivity and advanced graphics. LG is showcasing its Google TV with the new operating system at the Google I/O developer conference in San Francisco this week.

In addition to boosting overall performance, the latest Jelly Bean update supports the Android-based Native Development Kit (NDK) so Google TV owners can have the widest, most diverse selection of apps to choose from. Development on Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us has been completed. Naughty Dog co-president Christophe Balestra posted an image on Instagram showing that the disc has gone gold, hopefully meaning that there will be no delays and we’ll all be playing the game on 14th June.
