Earlier this week saw the 1st UK Windows Media Center and Windows Home Server Usergroup event being held in Birmingham.

This is just a reminder to anyone who is interested in attending the 1st UK Windows Media Center and Home Server User Group meeting which is going to be held in Birmingham next Tuesday evening (the 21st April).

Later today see’s the launch of Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 8 browser. IE8 has been available as a beta for quite a while now, but today it’s finally moved to a released version and it is available in 25 different languages.

Well it is that time of the year again when a large number of Microsoft MVPs descend on Seattle for the annual MVP Summit.

While this may not exactly be “new” news, anyone with certain makes of Seagate hard drives should check to see if the drives they have are affected by a firmware bug.

The 1st Release Candidate of Internet Explorer 8 is now available to download and use.

Here at CES earlier this week, Microsoft announced the release of the public beta of Windows 7. You can download it today and have a play with it by going to the Windows 7 beta download site. You can also download it if you have a TechNet or MSDN subscription.

Ok, this week Microsoft finally annouced the official name for Windows 7 - and yes, is Windows 7!
