As you are all probably aware, we are huge fans of the Xtreamer Media Streamer. One of our readers, Rockwell7 contacted me to say that the latest version of the firmware just came out, version 2.7.0.
As it’s Valentines Day today, Boxee have finally given some Netflix love to its US and Canadian Boxee Box users, plus some other updates and bug-fixes for everyone else.
Back in May 2010, we did a hands-on review of the Aleratec 1:1 HDD Cruiser which enabled you to duplicate a hard drive or securely erase one without the need for a computer. There is an updated firmware available that delivers additional secure erasure functionality.
Once again, this was a CES that included Boxee showing off their Boxee Box, and also other companies showing off the Boxee software on their hardware. Today Boxee released a firmware update to the Boxee Box but within a few hours they had pulled it!
Apple have also just released a firmware update for the new Apple TV, bringing it up to 4.1.1. This update is supposed to fix the issue some people experienced with content only displayed at 420p.
