SoulCalibur Lost Swords reinvents the world-renowned weapons-based fighting franchise with a brand new item discovery and forging system as well as elemental-based fighting mechanics. Ubisoft confirmed today that Child of Light, the turn-based RPG set in the magical world of Lemuria, will release on 30th April 30. The game will be available for download on Xbox LIVE for the Xbox360 and Xbox One, the PlayStation Network for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, the eShop from Nintendo for the Wii U, and PC Digital, at the price of £11.99.

Child of Light is a reimagining of classic fairytales, inviting players on an epic adventure into the magical painted world of Lemuria.  Players will uncover mysteries, participate in turn-by-turn combat inspired by classic JRPGs, and explore a mystical kingdom. The game puts players in the shoes of Aurora, a child stolen from her home, who, in her quest to return, must bring back the sun, the moon and the stars held captive by the Queen of the Night. Helped by her companion Igniculus the firefly and several unlikely allies, Aurora will face her darkest fears, including dragons and other mystical creatures, in this modern take on a coming-of-age story.

GAME and PlayStation are joining forces to bring the highly anticipated upcoming release, inFAMOUS: Second Son, to 40 stores across the UK. The lock-in is exclusive to GAME Reward members and is a chance for them to get their hands on the sought after game before its release. Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 New Void Sword Footage

Konami  has revealed the first in a new series of videos, highlighting the innovative new weaponry and abilities available in the upcoming Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2.

With the conclusion to the ‘Lords of Shadow’ series releasing on 25th February, the publisher has issued the first video detailing key armaments within the new game. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 introduces an improved combat system, with Dracula earning a series of powerful weapons and abilities as he progresses through the game.

Central to this new format is the Void Sword, a mystical weapon with incredible restorative properties. The Void Sword is the focus of this first trailer, and the weapon itself is found early on in the game. Once obtained, the Void Sword allows Dracula to add his enemies’ health to his own with every strike. It is a hugely effective weapon, and becomes a focal point of the vampire’s arsenal.

The new 50-second trailer shows the sword in full flow, against multiple foes and the game’s larger adversaries.

New multiplayer maps in Onslaught include:

  • Fog: A chilling homage to classic horror films, set alongside the banks of a murky lake, players skilled enough to pick up the map’s unique Field Order can become the embodiment of evil and don the mask of Michael Myers, one of cinema’s most iconic horror characters, as the entire soundscape changes to the eerily familiar  Halloween Theme music.
  • BayView: A coastal Californian boardwalk that offers players fast-paced run-and-gun gameplay amid a seaside town. Clever players will be able to climb onto the map’s moving  trolley to engage enemies, as well as call in devastating artillery strikes from the Naval Destroyer anchored offshore.
  • Containment: This map drops players into a raging battle amidst a war-torn Mexican village, where the action centres on the crippled remains of a small bridge holding a hi-jacked truck leaking radioactive material.
  • Ignition: Onslaught’s fourth map is a completely reimagined version of “Scrapyard” – the fan-favourite multiplayer map from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, placing players into a deserted  space launch facility with frenetic action amongst abandoned warehouses, flame trenches, a massive transport crawler, and dynamic map elements that can take players out if they’re not paying close attention.

Onslaught arms players with the Maverick, a deadly new, dual-purpose addition to their multiplayer arsenal. Outfitted with a lightweight wood stock and a digital screen display, players can choose to use the Maverick as either an Assault Rifle or Sniper Rifle, depending on their tactical needs.

Anchoring Onslaught is “Episode 1: Nightfall,” the first instalment in Extinction’s new, four-part episodic narrative. As the initial foray into this single, connected story that will be told across each DLC Pack launch throughout the year, “Episode 1: Nightfall” takes fans to a remote research facility hidden deep within the Alaskan wilderness, where a small recon team must infiltrate the facility to find out what happened to the mysterious Nightfall Program. This expanded Extinction storyline introduces new characters, plus two all-new alien species, and debuts an exclusive Venom-X weapon that pulverizes the Cryptids, as players delve deeper into the story of what happened following mankind’s first contact with the Cryptids in Colorado.

Telltale Games, in cooperation with DC Entertainment, has launched the second episode of the five episode game series, The Wolf Among Us. Based on Bill Willingham’s award-winning comic book series ‘FABLES’ and licensed by Warner Bros.

Telltale Games brings the second episode, ‘Smoke & Mirrors,’ to Xbox LIVE Marketplace for Xbox 360, PS3 via the PlayStation Network, and on PC and Mac from the Telltale Online Store and other digital distribution outlets.  The episode also makes its debut this week on the iOS App Store as an in-app purchase within the original The Wolf Among Us release.

Capcom today announced that Strider will officially release across Europe on 19th February as a €14.99 /  £11.99 digital download title on PSN (PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3), XBLA (Xbox One, Xbox 360) and PC (Steam). The original assassin returns soon, along with two all-new Challenge Modes and a slew of extras and bonus content that are sure to please Strider fans of all ages.

Revealed today, two new Challenge Modes have been added to the core Story Mode included in Strider. Beacon Run offers a “speed run” race style mode that gives players a white-knuckled experience, challenging them to hit consecutive checkpoints while slicing through enemies, in the shortest amount of time. Survival Mode tests players’ combat skills with a variety of different item and ability load outs, as waves of progressively difficult and diverse enemies converge on Strider Hiryu.

The Toymaker is a mischievous adversary of mysterious origin. He was first introduced in the Nintendo 3DS and XBLA and PSN title Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate. His arrival is signaled throughout Mirror of Fate, and the character’s genius for creation is highlighted when he animated his evil creations with the spirit of the Daemon Lord. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 acts as a conclusion to the Lords of Shadow story. The new game is set in a modern city tainted by Dracula’s influence and within Dracula’s castle itself. It sees a tortured Dracula charged with engaging Satan in battle once again.
