The ear cups are cushioned and so are comfortable to wear for extended periods of time, although depending on the size of your head and ears the amount of time that is may vary.

Review of the Jabra Elite Active 65t wireless earbuds

Here is the review of the Jabra Elite Active 65t,  wireless earbuds targeted for active sports usage.

The Jabra Elite Active 65t, these come in a compact carrying case that not only keeps it protected but also offers an extra two charges for the earbuds, giving you a total of 15 hours playback on the go, priced at £169.99 from Jabra/Amazon.

charges via a micro USB

Because they’re specifically built to be used for sport, the Elite Active 65t also features a secure-fitting design to ensure they stay in your ears while you’re working out.

Jabra Elite Active 65t earbuds

With an integrated accelerometer to help track your workouts more accurately, we’re told that these wireless earbuds are IP56 certified against sweat, water and dust too!

micro USB lead and extra earbuds ear tips

The earbuds really do take well to being thoroughly soaked or very sweating like it is at the moment in the UK with this heat wave. Also happy to report that they continued to play music fine after the ‘shower’.

Setup

Flip open the matte charging pod, place the buds in your ears, download the Jabra Sound+ app and pair with your phone. It’s that easy. After initial setup, the Jabras will detect when they’re in your ear and automatically switch on and will pause if one bud is removed. Occasionally they may not sync correctly but a quick press of the button on the side of the earbud will bring it to life.

Volume controls are on the left earbud, easily felt by two small notches. The right earbud has a single button for play/pause. Two presses will switch on HearThrough mode allowing surrounding noise to mix with your music. This is great not only from a safety point of view but handy if you need to talk to someone as you no longer need to remove your earbuds. Hold the right button down and you’ll have access to Siri, Alexa or Google Assistant.

The Jabra Sound+ app is well designed and easy to use, allowing customisation of your sound with some pre-set profiles and features a graphic equalizer

The left ear does the controlling of the volume while the right one does the tracks controls

The Jabra fit snuggly into the outer ear with the bud sitting comfortably in the ear canal. They are perfectly weighted to stay in place while exercising. Indeed, they are so comfortable that, on occasion, I’ve forgotten I’m wearing them. A small microphone extends towards your mouth to handle phone calls and HearThrough mode. They look good in the ear and are completely unobtrusive.

Performance

Most impressive though is the Bluetooth performance, which is rock solid. Minimal dropouts and when they do drop it’s only for the briefest moment. Hands-free calling also works very well although I still feel a little self-conscious taking a call in public – the buds are small enough that you can look like you’re talking to yourself.

There are now quite a few wireless earbuds on the market and not many of them work as well as the Jabra Elite 65t. The sound quality, Bluetooth connectivity and design are all top, but what really puts these at the top of the pile for me is the fact that once they’re in your ears, they stay there!

Pros:
Stylish design that stays in your ears.
Great sound
Volume controls on the earbud
Cons:
No active noise cancellation

Who are Shuttle?

From their website:

“Established in 1983, Shuttle Inc. is headquartered in Taipei Taiwan and is a global information technology and manufacturing leader. Established as a manufacturer of computer motherboards, Shuttle utilized highly regarded Research and Development capabilities and patented cooling technologies and expanded to offer computer products. Shuttle also offers Digital Signage Media Players, Notebook Computers, and Tablets.”

What’s in the box?

The box contains the XPC cube, some instructions, cables, screws and thermal paste for the processor.

A Closer Look

Final Thoughts

One of the first things you notice when you take the XPC Cube out of it’s box is the size – it’s quite small! Don’t worry that it may be small but it can fit a lot in it! It also looks very good too. There is sufficient airflow down both sides of the case as well. There are front LED’s that you can configure to be different colours if that’s your thing.

The top has a power button and a turbo button, along with two USB 3.0 ports and a headphone and mic socket. The rear of of the cube has all the other ports you need.

Gaining access to the insides is just a case of unscrewing two thumbscrews and slipping off the case – it’s really simple. And just as simple to put it all back together again.

The cube itself includes a power supply and a motherboard and also the CPU cooler, but you will need to supply your own hard drive, processor and memory, and you can also add your own graphics card too if you want to use something extra, two in fact, and if you are building a games machine you will probably want to do that so that you have the best graphics you can. The Shuttle website has a detailed list of supported components you can use, so make sure you check that out before you go ahead and buy anything.

Everything is already connected for you as well making it just a case of adding those components – everything else has been done for you which will both save you time and make it less fiddly.

I’m not going to talk about the performance of the cube because this will all depend on what you decide to use, but whatever you select it is very easy to fit into the cube and be ready to game!

I mentioned the turbo button, this is there to be used to overclock the cube when configured. You can then turn off the overlocking when you don’t need it just by pressing the button again.

So if you are in the market to build your own compact gaming PC but you don’t want to start from scratch then you should definitely take a look at the XPC Cube as it has everything you need to get you on your way to building a kick ass gaming PC – highly recommended, you should get one today! My one is currently sitting in pride of place on my desk.

The Shuttle XPC Cube SZ270R9 Barebone Mini PC is available now priced around £350.

There was a peculiar title called Flip Wars that stood out when Nintendo started announcing games that were in development for the Nintendo Switch ahead of the hardware’s launch. At the time it seemed like the sort of title that would flourish in hardware meant to be played anywhere.

What’s in the box?

The box contains the headset, detachable mic, instructions, and carry bag and cables.

A Closer Look

Final Thoughts

The first thing you notice about the CLOUD Alpha headset is the distinctive red and black look.

The headset is very light so you can wear it for hours without it becoming uncomfortable. The ear cups are very comfortable too with the headset suitable for most size heads. The ear cups and the headband are made from pliable leatherette.

The headset is connected to whatever device you want to use it with via a detachable braided cable. The cable is quite long so you should be able to sit somewhere comfortable without worrying about pulling the headset off. There is also a separate extension cable too if you need it. The cable also houses the in-line audio controls so everything is easily accessible for adjusting the volume.

There is a detachable noise-cancelling microphone that is easy to attach and remove. If you don’t want to use it, don’t plug it in and that way it doesn’t get in the way. The microphone works very and even speaking at a low volume the mic picked everything up without issue.

The Cloud Alpha is designed to work on PC, PS4, Xbox One and other platforms with a 3.5mm port. So whatever you want to use them on, you can.

The sound quality on the CLOUD Alpha is excellent – you really feel like you are part of the action.

If you are in the market for a great quality gaming headset then take a closer look, and listen, to the HyperX CLOUD Alpha Pro Gaming Headset – your ears will thank you for it!

The HyperX CLOUD Alpha Pro Gaming Headset is available now priced around £86.99.
