The Mandalorian Season 2 Launches on Disney Plus – Episode Release Dates Confirmed

For me, The Mandalorian has been some of the best Star Wars story telling outside the animated series in recent years and last October it became an overnight sensation as Disney Plus launched as a streaming service. But it was not available yet in all regions so many fans, myself included, had an agonising wait for it to come to us and when it did….wow was it good.

Well today Season 2 has launched and we can all enjoy the opening episode as it has now launched today Friday 30th October:

However this season will be a little different in that instead of all the episodes dropping at once, Season 2 is using the traditional weekly release style schedule and to be honest, I am kind of glad it is being paced to run all eight episodes to end just before Christmas rather than just binge watching them all today which I absolutely would have done. Gives us fans something to look forward to every week.

Here are official dates listed by Disney Plus:

  • The Mandalorian season 2, episode 1: Oct. 30
  • The Mandalorian season 2, episode 2: Nov. 6
  • The Mandalorian season 2, episode 3: Nov. 13
  • The Mandalorian season 2, episode 4: Nov. 20
  • The Mandalorian season 2, episode 5: Nov. 27
  • The Mandalorian season 2, episode 6: Dec. 4
  • The Mandalorian season 2, episode 7: Dec. 11
  • The Mandalorian season 2, episode 8: Dec. 18

Review: PowerPic Phone Charger from Twelve South

0

Here we review the PowerPic Phone Charger from Twelve South.

Looking for a wireless phone charger that doesn’t look like another dock or charger? Meet PowerPic, the picture frame that wirelessly charges your phone. Just set any Qi-compatible phone inside the frame to begin charging. The contemporary frame is made of New Zealand Pine and holds any 5″ x 7″ photo. PowerPic is, hands down, the best looking wireless phone charger – that you’ll never see.

Features

  • Works with all Qi-enabled smartphones (iPhone, Pixel, Galaxy etc.)
  • Qi-certified fast charger delivers up to 10W wireless power
  • Wirelessly charges through most phone cases up to 3mm thick
  • New Zealand pine frame holds any 5″ x 7″ photo

A Closer Look

Final Thoughts

The PowerPic wireless charger is a really useful bit of kit if you have a phone that can charge wirelessly (which most current phones do).

It looks like a good quality picture frame that will fit any 5×7 photo perfectly. The power cable itself is tucked neatly behind the frame and it also comes with a removable stand to hold the frame safely in position.

Placing a photo in the frame is simple and is just like any other picture frame.

Once the frame is plugged into a power socket, you just need to place your phone against the glass rested on the lower part of the frame to start charging. There are status lights on the back of the frame if you have any issues and need to check what’s going on.

This is a really great bit of kit that can sit on your desk or your bedside table and not look out of place.

The PowerPic Phone Charger from Twelve South is available now priced around £55.

Ubisoft “Gives More Time” to Make Far Cry 6 and Rainbow Six Quarantine as Delays are Confirmed

0

The current COVID world situation continues to have a knock effect as you would expect and this week seems to be the week for delays to major video games releases to be announced. Ubisoft has now confirmed that Far Cry 6 and Rainbow Six Quarantine have both been delayed beyond their original 2021 release dates after being given “more time” to develop them. Far Cry 6 was due for a February 2021 release.

Ubisoft has said that Far Cry 6 is the most ambitious entry in the series yet and will feature multiple endings, as such the decision to delay the original release does make sense and Ubisoft delayed titles following the disastrous reaction to Ghost Recon Breakpoint back in 2019 which is why Watch Dogs Legion was delayed and only released yesterday October 29th 2020.

Rainbow Six Quarantine’s developer team made this statement once the announcement had been made via the Ubisoft News site:

Hi everyone,

Back at E3 2019 we announced that we were working on an exciting new addition to the Rainbow Six series: a squad-based tactical shooter called Quarantine. Of course, we’re massive fans of Rainbow Six ourselves, and we want to ensure our game does justice to this incredible universe and community. We know you’re excited to find out more about the game, and we are equally as excited to share more details as soon as we can.

Quarantine is an ambitious project. In order to enable the game to reach its full potential, we’ve decided to give ourselves more development time to get it right.

We recently passed a major production gate, where we presented an intense core-experience built upon unique coop tactical gameplay. We will now be focusing on overall polish and reaching the level of quality this game deserves.

Just like many of you, we’ve spent a lot of the past few months working in exceptional conditions linked to the COVID-19 pandemic, and we’re thankful to have this extra time. We are committed to bringing players a high quality experience, and most importantly, providing the space and time to keep the development team healthy at the same time.

Thank you all for your understanding and support, and we’ll be back with more to share in 2021!

Ubisoft has plenty of games already coming out with Watch Dogs Legion out now, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla out on November 10th and Immortals: Fenyx Rising in December. Reports suggests both delayed games will not release until after March 2021 at the earliest.

Netflix to Develop ‘Assassin’s Creed’ Series

Netflix is doubling down hard on Video Game adaptations with both anime and live action versions of popular video games, The Witcher being the most recent example and success of one. Now just two weeks away from the launch of the next title in the video game series, ‘Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’, Netflix has teased that a live adaptation of Assassin’s Creed is coming to their streaming service:

The series, which will be executive produced by Ubisoft Film & Television’s Jason Altman and Danielle Kreinik, is currently looking for a showrunner.

“We’re excited to partner with Ubisoft and bring to life the rich, multilayered storytelling that Assassin’s Creed is beloved for,” said Peter Friedlander, VP, Original Series, Netflix. “From its breathtaking historical worlds and massive global appeal as one of the best selling video game franchises of all time, we are committed to carefully crafting epic and thrilling entertainment based on this distinct IP and provide a deeper dive for fans and our members around the world to enjoy.”

Jason Altman, Head of Ubisoft Film & Television added: “For more than 10 years, millions of fans around the world have helped shape the Assassin’s Creed brand into an iconic franchise, we’re thrilled to create an Assassin’s Creed series with Netflix and we look forward to developing the next saga in the Assassin’s Creed universe.”

My thoughts….well the big screen adaptation was quite frankly awful, it ignored the basic rules of the Assassin’s Creed universe but did manage to actually improve on a couple of things including its take on the Animus. For me Assassin’s Creed suits an episodic television series because of the very nature of being able to go into an Animus and revisit history but also a show’s season will allow enough time to tell and build a story that you just can’t do in a feature film, the games themselves are often 40 hours or more to complete with the more recent ones hitting the 100 hour mark so a two hour film cant do it justice but a ten hour TV season could do more with it.

So far Netflix is on a role with Video Game adaptations so I am hoping this will have the same level of success as long as they stick to what made the games so loved just as they did with The Witcher in honouring the books and the games.

Sea of Thieves ‘Fate of the Damned’ October Update Out Now!

0

As the nights draw in and pumpkins pop up in unexpected places, it’s time for Sea of Thieves to celebrate the scariest of seasons with its latest free update, available today to all Sea of Thieves players across Xbox One, Windows 10 PC, Steam and with Xbox Game Pass.

This year, pirates will be dealing with a sudden influx of dangerous enemies known as Shadows of Fate – a tricky type of skeleton normally confined to the Fort of the Damned. Working together with the Bilge Rats, players will uncover the story behind this emerging threat as it unfolds week by week, carrying crews into different regions of the seas.

Nowhere is completely safe during the Fate of the Damned update, as an advancing threat spreads across the seas. Pirates will receive Mysterious Notes before they set out on their adventures, urging them to speak with Larinna outside the tavern to find out what she’s learned, as well as which regions are being menaced by the Shadows of Fate that week – and those places are likely to be a hive of piratical activity, encouraging crews to plan their adventures accordingly.

Larinna will also be offering free Voyages that send players in search of her missing Bilge Rat crews, a task that guarantees some spectral scuffles along the way. Luckily, these same Voyages will give players the knowledge and tools to find the light that can banish the Shadows of Fate. The Ferryman aboard the Ferry of the Damned will also offer advice on how pirates might best defend themselves.

Players who choose to help turn the tide against this invading enemy, or who gather Flames of Fate to celebrate the Sea of Thieves’ traditional Festival of the Damned at this time of year, will find their efforts rewarded in the Fate of the Damned Event that forms part of this update. New Challenges will be unveiled as the Event progresses, each containing a number of varied Goals for pirates to tackle.

As more Goals are completed, new rewards will be made available, including the striking Soulflame weapons and lantern. Pirate Legends who go the extra mile and complete all Challenges will find they have access to the envy-inducing Soulflame Crew Set, available to them and anyone who’s currently sailing aboard their ship!

Last year’s spooky Fort of the Damned update saw a Skeleton Parrot and Monkey find their way into the Pirate Emporium – and not to be outdone, a Skeleton Cat and Dog have just arrived in search of loving owners who don’t mind their pets being a bit on the skinny side. They’re just as loyal as their flesh-and-blood friends, and guaranteed not to leave hair all over the furniture.

Elsewhere in the Emporium, the Soulflame Ship Set is ready to light up the seas with an eerie glow that captures the ethereal essence of the Well of Fates. If you prefer to travel by firelight, you can also acquire the free, irreverent Lantern Dance Emote that helps lighten even the gloomiest moments. Speaking of emotes, there’s a new set that allows your pirate to play the fool courtesy of a skeleton arm that’s a lot less dead than it should be, plus fear-inducing facepaints and plenty more.

The update is available for free to all Sea of Thieves players who have bought the game on Xbox One, on Windows 10 PC or via Steam, or players who have access to it with Xbox Game Pass. Simply download and install the latest Sea of Thieves update to get access.

For more information on the Fate of the Damned update, including full release notes, visit the Sea of Thieves website.

Review: OkunoKA Madness

The development team behind OkunoKA Madness must have been thinking that the world needed a sequel for the tough original game. Those that are into games that punish them for the slightest of mistakes might have been pleased when OkunoKA Madness got announced, but will it prove to be just as challenging as the original?
