while in the second match-up, Green Lantern harnessed the power of his ring against Superman himself, a clear fan favorite throughout the Battle Arena:
The thousands of fan votes have been tabulated, and the victors have been chosen.
Fighting their way through four weeks of preliminaries, the quarterfinal and semi-final rounds, to now face off in the Finals – the Battle Arena will come down to a final match between Batman and Superman, kicking off April 8th.
Injustice: Gods Among Us is an all-new game in development by award-winning NetherRealm Studios, creators of the definitive fighting game franchise Mortal Kombat. The title debuts a bold new fighting game franchise that introduces a deep, original story featuring a large cast of favourite DC Comics icons such as Batman, Green Arrow, Cyborg, Harley Quinn, Nightwing, Solomon Grundy, Superman, The Flash, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and many others.
Set in a world where the lines between good and evil are blurred, players will experience heroes and villains engaging in epic battles on a massive scale.
The April Top Gear Car Pack launches today for “Forza Horizon”, featuring six new cars specifically selected by the Top Gear Magazine team and Turn 10 Studios’ developers, as well as two car models appearing for the first time: the 2012 Bowler EXR S and the 2011 Alfa Romeo TZ3 Stradale Zagato.
Included in the pack for free for all “Forza Horizon” fans is the ultra-rare 2002 BMW M3-GTR.
The April Top Gear Car Pack is available to download now on Xbox LIVE for 400 Microsoft Points. Players who own the “Forza Horizon” Season Pass will be able to download the April Top Gear Car Pack for no additional cost.
The April Top Gear Car Pack includes:
· 2011 Ford Transit SuperSportVan – The SuperSportVan is the latest creation in a long-standing series of Ford-built custom transit vans dating back to 1971. The 2011 Ford Transit SuperSportvan dons Le Mans bonnet stripes and an eye-catching livery on the outside. Inside is the 3.2-liter, 198-horsepower engine taken from the much larger Transit Jumbo. What’s the point? It’s a one-off design to show that Ford engineers can have fun too, and it was unveiled at the 2011 Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham, U.K. It also presents a vast canvas for designs and further customisation for “Forza Horizon” fans.
· 1998 Mercedes-Benz AMG Mercedes CLK GTR – Only a street car in the loosest sense of the word, the CLK-GTR is nearly identical to its pure racing counterpart, which dominated the GT1 class at Le Mans so thoroughly that after a few wins no competitor wished to challenge it. Buying a CLK-GTR to use for lightning-quick grocery runs is a questionable plan, but for dominating your friends in Horizon’s Colorado, there are few street-licensable cars that can keep up, putting these drivers in a very exclusive club.
· 2012 Aston Martin Vanquish – With styling nods to previous Astons and a welcomed upgrade in the engine department, the new Vanquish retains much of the familiar Aston Martin grace, while still receiving a much needed boost in performance. Its 565-horsepower V12 produces a pleasing growl and will zip the car past nearly everyone else on the highway, all while you bask in the Vanquish’s considerable interior creature comforts.
· 2012 Bowler EXR S – The Bowler EXR S is the result of the 2012 brand partnership between Land Rover and U.K.-based rally raid manufacturer Bowler. The striking all-terrain vehicle is fitted with a modified version of the Range Rover Sport’s supercharged 5.0-litre V8, and produces 550 bhp, giving it a top speed of more than 150 mph. The first Bowler designed for road use, the EXR S is equally at home in the deepest parts of Horizon’s back roads.
· 2011 Alfa Romeo TZ3 Stradale Zagato – Combine traditional Alfa elegance with 600 horsepower of pure Dodge fury and what do you get? The 2011 Alfa Romeo TZ3 Stradale Zagato. This street-legal sports car features an 8.4-litre V10 and the kind of gorgeous curves you’d expect from Italian design center Zagato. In short, this one’s as easy on the eyes and as it is fun on the road.
· 2002 BMW M3-GTR (FREE Download) – The 2002 BMW M3-GTR is synonymous with rarity. As BMW puts it, “The GTRs (both race and street copies) were never sold to anyone. Only three street copies were built. Not all three were ever shown. A street copy was shown in the U.S. only once, and for less than an hour.” Little wonder, then, that this M3 is bound to be a prize for “Forza Horizon” players.
Where Cars Belong: “Forza Horizon” is available now on Xbox LIVE Marketplace and anywhere games are sold. Car packs are available individually or as part of the “Forza Horizon” Season Pass (4,000 Microsoft Points), which also includes the Rally Expansion Pack. The game is rated PEGI 12.
The high street is turning into the i-street, as the rise of wireless-enabled smartphones, tablets and other devices sees more than 10 million Britons a week logging on to public WiFi while out and about, new research reveals.
The figures from The Cloud, the biggest high street WiFi provider in the UK, show that almost a quarter of the nation (22%) uses WiFi in shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs and other public venues every week – with a hardcore 2.8 million (6%) logging on every day, the equivalent of one in 10 smartphone users.2
Among techier 25-34-year-olds, this rises to one in three people accessing a high street hotspot each week (33%) – and one in 11 (9%) every day.
And with an estimated 28 million Britons now owning smartphones, and 7.3 million tablets,3 the research also reveals the extent to which wireless internet usage out and about is no longer the preserve of young people or Londoners.
A fifth of 45-54-year-olds (19%) use public WiFi at least once a week, as do 10% of people aged 55 or older.
And although London boasts the greatest proportion of high street WiFi users (47%), the North East (42%) and South West (40%)
Moreover, data from The Cloud’s own national network of more than 18,000 hotspots show that users in other cities are more prolific ‘WiFiers’ than Londoners. While people in the capital appear to be “WiFi snackers” – quickly logging on to check emails or social media – users in Nottingham, Cardiff and Sheffield spend at least 50% longer online in a typical session.
Likewise, public WiFi users in Bristol, Cardiff, Nottingham and Reading download on average 50% more data per session than Londoners, with people in Brighton downloading almost double.
Overall, one in three users (35%) log on for more than 15 minutes on average, and nearly one in 10 (8%) for more than half an hour.
According to The Cloud’s own data, there were more than two billion minutes spent online using public WiFi in the first 10 weeks of 2013 alone, with more than 800 million megabytes of information downloaded in total.
Vince Russell, managing director of The Cloud, said: “As smartphones, tablets and other wireless devices become ubiquitous, we’re increasingly looking to take our in-home internet experience out and about with us. With 3G connections frequently throttled and 4G not yet a mass-market proposition, this means many of us are turning to high-speed WiFi.
“As a result, we’re seeing shops, cafes, pubs, gyms and other places where people live their lives looking to meet this demand by offering free WiFi to their customers.
“Some seven million people pass through The Cloud’s venues every day, with hotspots ranging from Wick in the Highlands to Penzance in Cornwall, all in the kinds of venues where people want to take time to surf the web, catch up on emails, news and sport, and even listen to music or stream HD video.”
There are 200 new venues added to The Cloud’s network every week. Its hotspots are in major high street venues and public places, such as Greggs, Caffé Nero, PizzaExpress, Wetherspoon pubs, Eat, Pret A Manger, Wagamama, WH Smith, the City of London, and Network Rail and London Overground stations.
All Sky Broadband Unlimited, Sky Fibre Unlimited and Sky Connect customers are eligible for free, unlimited access to The Cloud WiFi via Sky’s app, WiFi Hotspots from The Cloud.

From pizzas the size of planets to curries hotter than Hawaii, eating challenges have been making mincemeat out of plucky challengers for years. Now, for the launch of Mexico based Army of TWO The Devil’s Cartel, Electronic Arts and Chilango have announced the “Army of Burri-Two” challenge, daring brave Brits to take on a gargantuan burrito so huge and spicy that it can’t be vanquished alone.
The “Army of Burri-Two” challenge will require two hombres to team up and take down a burrito that’s double the size of anything else on the Mexican restaurant’s Zagat-rated menu. And just in case eating a burrito the size of a small child wasn’t challenging enough, the combined heat of two different salsas will leave all but the most hardcore quivering in its wake.
Foolhardy customers can also choose to douse their meal in Chilango’s optional Overkill sauce. Bringing to life the game’s Overkill mode – which boosts the amount of destruction you can dish out to insane, Michael Bay-esque proportions – this explosive addition is made from excruciatingly spicy habanero peppers, which are over 60 times hotter than your average jalapeno.
Currently available exclusively at Chilango restaurants for just three weeks, gamers and food fanatics alike should brace themselves for one of the most intimidating food challenges London has ever seen.
“We’re excited about partnering with Chilango to launch Army of TWO The Devil’s Cartel,” said Colin Blackwood at Electronic Arts. “They’ve been making great burritos for years, and what better way to bring the game’s hot co-operative gameplay to life than via a blistering burrito co-op challenge.”
“We’re huge fans of the Army of TWO franchise,” added Eric Partaker, Co-founder of Chilango. “Our love of Mexico’s vibrancy and energy make this launch a perfect fit for Chilango. I’m really looking forward to seeing our guests try and take down this huge, flavour-filled, burrito inferno. It’s not for the faint of heart, but is absolutely for the adventurous spirits that love both EA and Chilango.”

Disney has announced large-scale game development and support staff cuts to LucasArts.
LucasArts will retain a small staff, but Disney will now begin licensing production on future gaming titles out to other developers.
Picture from the Star Wars 1313
A Disney spokesperson said: “After evaluating our position in the games market, we’ve decided to shift LucasArts from an internal development to a licensing model, minimizing the company’s risk while achieving a broader portfolio of quality Star Wars games.
“As a result of this change, we’ve had layoffs across the organisation. We are incredibly appreciative and proud of the talented teams who have been developing our new titles.”
Disney’s change to the Star Wars gaming model has led to work being stopped on the highly-anticipated Star Wars 1313 for the time being, as originally rumoured in February.
Development on Star Wars: First Assault has also been halted in response to the large-scale layoffs.
The Lego Star Wars franchise is expected to continue under the guidance of the remaining staff.
The announcement comes mere months after Disney purchased Lucasfilms in a massive $4.05 billion (£2.5bn) deal.
LucasArts was formed in 1982 and has since released highly lucrative games based on Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Labyrinth.
I was really looking forward to Star Wars 1313, were you looking forward to this game or any other games from LucasArts?
Following the recent Deus Ex announcement, Eidos Montreal and Square Enix unleash the first trailer for the Director’s Cut, the definitive version of the critically acclaimed DEUS EX: HUMAN REVOLUTION.
Praised for its in-game art and cinema-quality storyline, DEUS EX: HUMAN REVOLUTION has garnered critical acclaim from the media and consumers alike since its original release in August 2011. In DEUS EX: HUMAN REVOLUTION, the year is 2027– a time of great innovation in neuroprosthetics, but also a time of chaos, conspiracy, and social divide. Adam Jensen, a man cybernetically augmented against his own choice, finds himself in the middle of a mysterious, global plot to which he holds the key. By offering players vastly different ways to play, DEUS EX: HUMAN REVOLUTION challenges the foundation of gaming and provides an immersive experience where every choice has a lasting consequence.
Coming in 2013, the Director’s Cut features include visual improvements, overhauled boss fights, reinforced combat mechanics and much more making it the ultimate HUMAN REVOLUTION experience.
Here is the trailer:
Total Game Immersion
You ARE Adam Jensen. The GamePad is Jensen’s Neural Hub, one of his implanted augmentations and possibly his most powerful tool.
The “in-game” menus are now toolkits; they feel like part of the game flow and one of Adam Jensen’s augmentations.
Tongs’s Rescue mission and the entire Missing Link chapter have been integrated seamlessly into the narrative flow of the Director’s Cut.
Original pre-order and other bonus weapons are now at Jensen’s disposal.
Original Game Mechanics utilizing the GamePad
Hacking is now at his best on the GamePad. Use the speed and precision of your fingers to hack on the GamePad while the world remains visible on your primary screen.
The “sniper scope” feature allows any weapon with a scope to use both the GamePad and primary screen for a two-step, precision sniping.
The Toolkits (previously in-game menus) are now all easily displayed and accessible on the GamePad.
The Radar is now featured on the touch screen and is a hybrid of the original radar and the 2D Map. Opening the 2D Map Toolkit allows players to draw hints, paths and notes that will remain on the radar.
The Quick Inventory is now displayed on the GamePad touch screen, leaving the primary screen clear.
Looting shows detailed descriptions about the items and doesn’t require players to access extra menus to see the content.
New Features;
Grenade Throw-Back: Grenades near Jensen appear on the GamePad, the player can then swipe the grenade icon to throw the grenade back.
New Augmentation “Tactical Pattern-Recognition System”: Display Jensen’s view through the GamePad touch screen. Moving the GamePad around will move Jensen’s view (the camera) in the same way, using the gyroscope. The NPC closest to Jensen’s center point of view (reticle) will have an extra information panel appearing over his head, giving precious information like the items carried, total health, armor type and state (unconscious, dead, normal). Jensen can still move and shoot while the T.P-R.S is active.
Infologs: Information packages that can contain detailed screenshots, voice recordings, drawing and typed notes all together. Infologs can be toggled as a physical beacon in-game to be played automatically when standing on it. Infologs can be shared through the Miiverse to your friends, which let them view your content in-game, without breaking the immersion.
New Game +: Lengthen the game with the New Game Plus; keeping Jensen’s augmentations on replay.
GamePad Mode: Ability to play on the GamePad (No TV needed).
Fan Features;
Director’s commentaries; For the hardcore Deus Ex fans, approximately 8 hours of director’s commentary that reveals secrets and background info on the creation and production of Deus Ex: Human Revolution – Director’s Cut.
Strategy Guide: A strategy guide is available for the complete game including both the Missing Link and Tong’s Rescue mission. The strategy guide is implemented in-game and can be accessed through the Neural Hub at any time.
Achievements system; Original game achievements, The Missing Link achievements and new achievements are available!
A “Making Of” Video; The “Making Of” video of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, approximately 45min.
Left-Handed control mapping; for a total of 4 control layout variations
Languages: English, French, Italian, German and Spanish are available in both voice and subtitles. Choose to play the game with audio in one language but keep the subtitles on another.
New Boss Fights
Boss fights have been entirely redesigned; new map layout and new gameplay mechanics that support the game’s main pillars (hacking, stealth, combat). Also feature AI, damage & health tweaks for the best boss fights possible.
It’s now possible to defeat bosses without the need to fire a single bullet.
Technical & Other Improvements;
Rebalanced energy system; Able to use more augmentations with more energy cell recharging. Makes the game more enjoyable and accessible on lower difficulty levels.
Improved visuals: With a better lighting system, fog and smoother shadows; all visual improvements from The Missing Link have been applied through the whole game. And with anti-aliasing, this is the best looking Deus Ex available.
AI tweaked for consistency
