The Monoprice DT-3BT speakers prove that even the smallest of packages can be mighty. These 50W beauties deliver crisp audio while looking sleek and professional. Moreover, they are lightweight, easy to work with, and versatile thanks to their multi-connectivity approach.

These compact and robust speakers allow you to connect to any device via Bluetooth. Moreover, you can use RCA cables to connect to your PC or DVD player. Alternatively, the ¼” stereo pair on the rear panel allows you to connect to a mixing deck or any other professional tool. Accordingly, the Monoprice DT-3BT speakers can be used for a plethora of tasks.

What’s in the box of the Monoprice DT-3BT speakers?

  • The rather plain box is simple, robust, and discreet. What’s more, it has some basic labelling and it can be fully recycled. However, the use of polystyrene to protect its contents was disappointing. For the future, I’d like to see an environmental approach even if it pushes the price slightly.
  • The Monoprice DT-3BT speakers are compact but pleasant to the eye. These attractive speakers have a refined look. Consequently, they wouldn’t look out of place in an office or gaming set-up. Additionally, they have no filter, therefore, you see both the woofers and the tweeters. At the rear, you’ll see an array of ports, the power switch, and the pair button.
  • A 3.5mm to 3.5mm aux cable. Connect your phone, mp3, or iPod to the speakers. This cable has a rubberised finish and can be replaced with any standard aux cable.
  • Speaker wires allow you to connect each speaker. The red and black cable could have been longer. However, if this is an issue, it can be replaced with any speaker cable.
  • RCA cables are provided to connect the speakers to your laptop, PC, or other media device.
  • A user guide helps you to work through the basics.

Technical aspects.

Whenever you buy new speakers, you want them to produce crisp audio and a pleasant range of tones. Furthermore, an even bass line is a must if you wish for a fantastic audio experience. Fortunately, the Monoprice DT-3BT speakers ticks all of these boxes. Each of the woofers and the tweeters is driven by a dedicated amplifier. This ensures that you enjoy 40 watts of class AB amplification. Subsequently, during testing, I was able to crank up the sound without issue.

No matter what song or film I choose, the speakers never cracked. During heavy bass sections, the speakers delivered an epic soundscape. Alongside this, there was no drop in tones and the outcome was balanced music that was easy to listen to. Alongside this, any dialogue during gaming or movie sessions was crystal clear. As such, I was impressed with this small but mighty product.

Connectivity.

I was impressed that Monoprice included Bluetooth. Accordingly, this was the first element I played with. Amazingly, the speakers connected with no issue and I experienced no lag or sound drops. Furthermore, whenever I disconnected and reconnected, I faced no problems. However, if Bluetooth isn’t your thing, there are plenty of options available to you.

Perhaps you enjoy an old-school approach? If this is the case, you can use the front-facing aux port to connect to any suitable device. Alongside this, there is a headphone output if you need to play in silence. Alternatively, you can use the provided RCA cables to create a familiar and stable connection. Finally, if you are a professional, or you simply enjoy using a mixing deck, the ¼” stereo pair will be right up your street. This high-end option ensures that these speakers are suitable for beginners all the way through to top-end users.

Build quality.

Technically, the Monoprice DT-3BT speakers are spectacular. However, no matter how great they sound and perform, you want them to look amazing as well. Luckily, they also excel in this area. The exposed 3.5” polypropylene woofers and the ¾” silk dome tweeters look the business. Alongside this, the rounded MDF cabinets are pleasant to the eye. Moreover, I loved the refined style as the front panel comprises two ports, two LEDS, and a power/volume knob.

This sleek finish is understated, and I adored the design choice. To the rear, every port is well-labelled, and this makes it easy to set up. The pair and power buttons are tactile and simple to locate. Moreover, the front LED cluster highlights whenever you have a device connected. Alongside this, if you wish to wall mount these speakers, you can with ease. Thankfully, the back panel is designed in such a way that every element can still be accessed.

Are the Monoprice DT-3BT speakers worth it?

Decent speakers are two a penny. However, getting a set that ticks every box isn’t so easy to find. Thankfully, that’s where the Monoprice DT-3BT speakers stand out from the crowd. These compact and robust peripherals offer exceptional audio at an affordable price. Available for under $99.99, you get an awful lot of bang for your buck. Consequently, I loved them as they sound as good as they look. Therefore, I can happily recommend that you buy them here!

Moreover, there are mountains of challenges to complete, tournaments to take part in, and the ability to play cooperatively or multiplayer. This idea was incredible as it epitomises arcade gaming. If you are skilled enough to win, you are paid a share of the tournament pot. This in-game currency is essential to enter every tournament, challenge, and Giants battle.

The challenges are readily available in a large percentage of games. If the challenge icon adorns the thumbnail, then you know you’re in business. Each title has a list of objectives that become progressively harder. Whether it’s limited lives, a set score, or a timer, they will test your resolve. Additionally, the harder tasks require unlocking with the in-game currency. As such, you must work hard to complete every available challenge. 

Giants Vs Slayers. 

The Giants Vs Slayers quests are daunting. To enter one of these events, you must invest 5 gems (the in-game currency). With your money spent, you must now try to beat the Giants’ score. If you fail, you may retry the task. However, every subsequent entry doubles the entrance fee. Therefore, costs mount up and you may have to abandon a challenge before you are successful.

This all-or-nothing approach is both bitter and euphoric. Whenever you defeat and your fellow Slayers defeat a Giant, the sense of achievement is incredible. Yet, failure is a deflating experience. Consequently, you must focus on your favourite genres, or practice freely in the play now section.

Play with no restrictions. 

Though I adored the online challenges, I was rarely flush with in-game currency. Accordingly, I spent most of my time flirting with different games. This is the beauty of Antstream Arcade! The play now mode lets you select from any of the 1400+ games. Moreover, if you are playing solo, you get to enjoy them for free. Final Thoughts

Setting up the Door View Cam in very simple – you just have to unscrew your existing door peephole (you can use the tool in the box to help), place the outside section through the hole on the outside of the door, and then fit the rear section, insert the battery and then follow the instructions on the Ring app to add the Door View Cam – it really is that simple (although you need to be very careful of not damaging the thin cable that connects the outside part to the inside part). You can then make all the settings changes you want and need from the app and leave it running.

There is even a physical peephole you can look through if you dont have your phone with you at the time.

The Door View Cam works really well, and unlike other doorbell cams, this one actually has a built-in impact sensor so if someone comes to the door and knocks instead of pressing the doorbell button it will still register.

The image and sound quality is great and works really well. You can of course turn off sound if you just want picture and you can set up privacy zones if you only want to capture a certain area.

As mentioned you use your phone (or tablet, or other device) to receive notifications of someone at the door, or to see who is at the door, but if you combine it with a Ring Chime Pro you can also receive audio notifications (like an old fashioned doorbell). Setting it up is simple, then you can place the chime anywhere in your home that works for you.

The box also includes a 30 day trial to Ring Protect so you can see what it can offer you and then you can decide if you want to sign up for a subscription and gain all the extra benefits. The BS12 Pro from FlexiSpot is an incredibly comfortable and supportive office chair. Moreover, it can be used for extended gaming sessions thanks to its lumber support and adjustable parts. On top of this, the sleek black finish looks professional and won’t be out of place in any office setting. If you suffer from poor posture or bad joint pain when sitting for too long, then this could be the chair for you.

Thanks to the multi-point adjustment system and breathable material, you can lounge and work in this chair without aches or pains. Additionally, the chair never felt clammy or warm thanks to its Wintex breathable mesh. Furthermore, each mechanical part feels well-built and robust. Therefore, no matter how many times I span on it, or altered my seating position, I knew that it wouldn’t fail me.

What’s in the box of the BS12 Pro?

  • The large cardboard box is plain but sturdy. With basic imagery and some key information, the packaging does its job well. Moreover, it can be recycled, and that was fantastic.
  • The BS12 Pro comes in an array of parts. As such, you are responsible for putting it together yourself. However, this is an easy task and nothing to worry about. Be aware, though, that the chair weighs over 20 Kg, so you may want someone to help to construct it.
  • Tools and screws. FlexiSpot provides the tools and screws to build your chair. Accordingly, no additional items are required to piece together your purchase.
  • A straightforward user manual to help you get started.

Putting it together.

I tackled this project by myself. However, it would have been much easier with another person. Not only is this chair relatively heavy, but you’ll have to balance many parts whilst using an Allen key. Subsequently, it can be a handful when you are trying to use screws or you drop the Allen key repeatedly.

However, thanks to clear instructions and well-labelled tools and screws, you can’t go wrong. The BS12 Pro took me about 15 minutes to put together. Amazingly, I didn’t swear once, and this is almost unheard of! The remarkably easy build process was pleasantly straightforward, and this made me smile.

Technical aspects.

This phenomenal chair is the perfect addition to any working space. Thanks to the excellent control module, fully adjustable parts, wheeled base and gas-powered central strut, you have the perfect piece of office furniture. Furthermore, the lumber support can be manually adjusted for each user and the excellent Wintex Mesh ensures that this is cool in the summer and warm in the winter. On top of this, FlexiSpot claims a 10-year lifespan for use and anti-warping.

The 3-point control module and Donati resistance mechanism take some getting used to. However, once you understand the finer details, you’ll happily use this chair with ease. The Donati system is world-renowned and straightforward to master. This twist nob controls the tension of the backrest. As such, you can decide how easy it is to recline the BS12 Pro. Alongside this, the control module lets you move the base while adjusting the height of the seat. Moreover, you can alter the 3D armrests by sliding, twisting, or lifting them into position. Furthermore, the headrest can be raised and dropped for ultimate comfort.

If you like to recline while reading or working, then this chair is a must. You can lock the BS12 Pro in 3 positions. The 3 levels range from 105 to 135 degrees. Accordingly, you can work, relax, and play in this amazing office chair.

Build quality.

Bad backs and tight hips are common complaints for office workers and gamers. As such, it is essential to get a chair that provides exceptional support. What’s more, you want your chair to be robust, rugged, and stylish. Thankfully, the BS12 Pro ticks all of these boxes. Aesthetically, this chair looks impressive. The mesh material is strong, tactile, and pleasant against your skin. Moreover, the hardened plastic doesn’t feel cheap and will withstand normal bumps and scrapes.

On top of this, the wheels are smooth, silent, and capable of carrying considerable weight. Talking of weight. The gas-powered strut holds its position no matter the load. Subsequently, it is reassuringly strong and unbelievably smooth. Thankfully, every moving part and switch is easy to identify and buttery smooth to operate. Whether you are lowering the seat, adjusting the headrest, or trying to recline, the BS12 Pro doesn’t let you down.

Grime: Tinge of Terror is the much anticipated DLC for Grime: Colors of Rot. This was a game I reviewed in January and you can read my review here! I adored this grisly and macabre title. Moreover, its blend of genres, strange gameplay, and exceptional exploration and combat elements blew me away. Furthermore, it has been well-received by a critical Metroidvania audience.

Developed by Clover Bite and published by Akupara Games, this is a Metroidvania title. What’s more, it has Souls-lite elements and is brutal as hell. However, once you understand the exceptional gameplay mechanics, you’ll cope with this testing but rewarding grim experience.

Grime: Tinge of Terror adds a lot to the base game. 

I’m not going to give you a synopsis of this title. My gut feeling is that if you’re reading this, you’ve endured the madness of the base game already. As such, I’ll focus on what this free-to-download DLC has to offer. Yet, I’m conscious of spoilers, so this will be a gentle stomp around the new experience. 

Grime: Colors of Rot focuses on boss battles, new weaponry, and absorbing new abilities. Thankfully, these ideas form the backbone of Grime: Tinge of Terror! However, this hardcore New Game+ option takes things to a whole new level. Consequently, every boss is rock solid and has a new way of working. As such, everything you have learned must be undone if you wish to succeed.

This shouldn’t be so hard.

It’s a DLC that keeps giving. 

I was shocked by how much this free-to-play DLC offers. As previously mentioned, each gargantuan boss tests your resolve in new and uncomfortable ways. Furthermore, unlike the base game, there is an infinite progression system for your weapons and your abilities. As such, you can create a brutal arsenal of weapons. Additionally, you can tailor the protagonist to your play style, and that was phenomenal. However, be warned that you must be flexible if you wish to defeat every boss. 

Talking of bosses, there is an unpleasant surprise for anyone that wants the ultimate test. I won’t spoil it, but be prepared to have your arse handed to you repeatedly. This undeniably cruel creature adds to the sheer difficulty. Moreover, it is in keeping with the other monsters and will not disappoint you.

Grime: Tinge of Terror is oppressive but oddly attractive. 

I should just copy and paste my original review. Why? Because Grime: Tinge of Terror is just as disgustingly beautiful. The oppressive atmosphere and grim world are horrible, but brilliant at the same time. Additionally, the labyrinthine world is a pleasure to explore. The developers have done an awesome job with their stage design. Subsequently, you’ll love searching every nook and cranny for collectables and creatures to absorb.

The audio is equally good. The atmosphere is enhanced by the sombre and melancholy soundtrack. Moreover, the sinister sound effects were creepy as well. On top of this, the bosses sound terrifying and everything will make your body shudder.

Amazing controls. 

Grime: Tinge of Terror is wonderful to play. Thanks to the intuitive controls and amazing AI, you’ll easily pick up the basics. However, newcomers to the Metroidvania genre may struggle. The complex combat and occasionally tricky platforming elements require practice and patience. Yet, if you give this the time it deserves, you’ll adore the slick gameplay and grim ideas.

This free DLC enhances an already massive game. Once you complete the original content, you have a much tougher title to complete. As such, this oozes replay value and longevity. With fresh bosses to kill, infinite weapons and ability progression, and a secret boss to overcome, this will keep you busy. 

Grime: Tinge of Terror puts other DLC to shame.

I love the word free. However, usually, it impacts the depth and quality. Grime: Tinge of Terror is different, and it puts other DLC to shame. This massive add-on creates a much harder experience that is memorable and disgusting. Accordingly, I loved it and I recommend that you buy it here! Can you revisit the Grime world and survive? Enhance your weapons and abilities and take down every boss.

Directed by Doug Liman, this action/romance movie features World War Z star Brad Pitt as John Smith and Jane Smith (Angelina Jolie), a couple in a soulless relationship. Unknown to them, rival agencies have hired them both to kill DIA prisoner Benjamin Danz. However, it turns out that Danz is just a pawn, and the Smiths have instead been surprisingly assigned to kill each other.
