Today finally sees the announcement that Windows Home Server Power Pack 2, formally known as Snoqualmie, will be released tomorrow via Windows Update. Power Pack 2 is a minor release for Windows Home Server but it is also a "must have" update to Windows Home Server!
Following last weeks post about Windows Home Server being available on both TechNet and MSDN and then the subsequent disappearance of it because Microsoft were testing, I can now announce that Windows Home Server is available on both TechNet and MSDN and will be staying there – HONEST! 🙂
My friend and fellow MVP Ian Dixon (he of the DigitalLifestyle.com), has written an add-in for Windows Home Server called Media Center Health Monitor, which as it sounds, monitors the health of the Media Center or Centers (if you have more than one), and the Media Center’s do not even have to be associated with your Windows Home Server.
Further to yesterday’s post, it appears that Windows Home Server is not quite yet ready to be on TechNet and MSDN and that it was just a test of the system.
We have mentioned the Boxee beta a few times now over the last couple of months and now Boxee have announced that the Boxee beta will work on the Apple TV device.
