New UK Indie Studio miniBeast Games have announced their debut title – Must Dash Amigos – will launch on Xbox One on July 16^th 2019, available from the Microsoft Store. The two-man team consists of one former Jagex Employee, Ben Lowther, and Anthony Brunton-Douglas who is still working full-time for the large Cambridge based Studio. The pair, who met in 2011 whilst working on RuneScape, both began as Quality Analysts with Ant progressing into a 3D Artist role and Ben going on to become an Associate Producer. Must Dash Amigos – a vibrant, humorous battle racing game filled with Piñata Stampedes, Avocados and a drop of Tequila – all started following a Jagex Game Jam back in 2015. With the blessing of Jagex the pair continued to evolve the title in their spare time, with Ben taking the plunge to become a full-time Indie Dev in January this year. They are now close to releasing their first ever game, with a PC version to follow soon after and a Nintendo Switch launch later in the year.

The game features several modes with varying mechanics, but the heart and soul of the game is Multiplayer Race Mode where players must outlast their opponents amidst explosions, piñata stampedes, and all-round chaos! Being a battle-racer, weapons are of course on offer and there is a good mix to aid your pursuit of victory. Some have a subtle effect on proceedings, such as your typical speed boosts, whilst others can turn the tides much more dramatically, like the InvinciBull mount or the Gwack-a-Mole Mallet! There is even a Tequila perk that causes the screen to temporarily twist and distort causing disorientation for all. Those that can’t keep up or perish in some way are eliminated from the current round, with the last amigo standing claiming a round-victory, enough of which results in them being crowned as the overall champion.

”We just wanted a pick-up-and-play multiplayer game we could have a quick go on during our lunch breaks. But there was a distinct lack of games that allowed us to do that on current gen consoles, so we decided to make our own!” said Ben Lowther, miniBeast Games

Other game modes include Battle Mode where you face-off against each other in an enclosed arena using the weapons at your disposal. There are 8 arenas in total, with some interesting environmental obstacles; one particular level randomly spawns large Kraken-like Tentacles that will drag you underwater! For players craving longer gameplay sessions, Tourney mode offers just that, with a total of 18 different Cups up for grabs. Tourneys consist of a series of just Races or both Races & Battles and a Tourney leader board system to determine the ultimate champion. For those looking to play solo, Time Trials give you the opportunity to learn tracks and test your speed, whilst Challenge Mode features three different challenge types across all tracks, that will have you controlling two characters at once, outrunning a rampaging lethal Piñata Stampede, or trying to catch an elusive Mystical Piñata.

There are no micro transactions in the game, instead players earn an in-game currency (called Moustachios) solely through gameplay. Moustachios can then be used to unlock different outfits for each of the 4 unique characters, although there is one particularly shiny gold outfit that can only be obtained from a secret achievement.

That is quite a line up of panels and demo booths, personally I am hoping and quite frankly needing, to see more of Squar Enix’s Avengers after a rather clumsy reveal and reaction to the visuals, E3 failed to show us any real gameplay from the game so SDCC 2019 would be the perfect time to show some gameplay to hopefully relieve some doubt fans have after E3. I am still gutted that ‘MARVEL Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order’ is a Nintendo Switch exclusive, big fan of those series which thankfully were remastered and released last year for PS4 and Xbox One, I absolutely recommend you check them out if you have yet to experience those games.

So there will be plenty to see from MARVEL Video Games this SDCC 2019!

Konami has just announced that the PES 2020 Demo will launch for PC via STEAM, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on July 30th

A fairly decent selection of teams to try out and access to the editing side is also a welcome touch.

As the battle intensifies in the 2019 FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, players can now create their own rivalries with the launch of F1 2019. Releasing two months earlier than previous iterations, and ahead of the FORMULA 1 MYWORLD GROSSER PREIS VON ÖSTERREICH 2019 this weekend, the F1 2019 Anniversary Edition is released today on PlayStation 4 , the Xbox One family of devices including the Xbox One X and Windows PC (DVD and via Steam).

With the longest development cycle of any Codemasters F1 game, F1 2019 features of series of firsts including the 2018 FIA Formula 2 Championship where players can compete alongside F1 rookies George Russell, Lando Norris and Alexander Albon. The game launches with the F2 feeder series; a scenario-based introduction which alters the outcome of the game based on the player’s success, actions and responses. The F2 2019 season will be added via a free digital download later in the year.

Another first is driver transfers which appear in Career Mode and mostly occur at the end of each season. Established stars including current F1 World Champion, Lewis Hamilton and arch-nemesis, Sebastian Vettel can form an unlikely partnership or continue their rivalry in the racing colours of completely new teams. All new contracts are based on performance, so talent will have the opportunity to sign for a title contender with a series of strong results or be relegated to a team whose goals are much less ambitious.

F1 2019 features 18 classic cars celebrating every decade from the 1970s through to 2010. Players can re-live great moments from yesteryear in the best performing cars of their generation including the 1972 Lotus 72D, 1988 McLaren MP4/4, 1996 Williams FW18 through to the 2010 Red Bull RB6. In addition, players can also race the McLaren MP4-25 and the Ferrari F10 from the 2010 season as part of the F1 2019 Anniversary Edition. Players can also customise a 2019 regulation car, created in collaboration with Ross Brawn and Pat Symonds, with a series of liveries and compete online in Multiplayer mode.

With the F New Balance Esports Series continuing to grow at pace, players can keep updated with the latest news, event details, watch livestreams and highlights all through the new in-game Esports area. Later this year, players who wish to compete competitively and try to win a place on one of the ten F1 teams can register and take part in future heats directly through the game.
