The ArmorGrid Pro is fairly slim for a protective case and feels really comfortable in the hand, even after long sessions of scrolling, gaming or taking photos.
The back is just 1.43mm thick (and the whole case weighs around 40.5g) so it adds very little bulk to what is already a big phone. The diamond-pattern weave also gives you a bit of extra grip, so it never feels slippery.
The Beyond Blue colour is woven into the fibre itself rather than painted on top, so it shouldn’t fade, chip or yellow over time. It also catches the light differently depending on the angle – it really does look great.
The TPU frame covers all of the edges and corners, which is where most phones take the hit when they are dropped. Don’t worry about putting your phone down on a table either, as the raised camera frame and screen lip keep both the lenses and the display off the surface.
The metal buttons are nice and clicky with no mushy presses, and Camera Control works just as it does without a case, whether you are pressing or swiping.
MagSafe support is really good, with the case snapping firmly onto chargers, wallets, car mounts and power banks. And because Kevlar® doesn’t conduct electricity, there is no interference with your signal or wireless charging – something you can’t always say about carbon fibre cases.
