OPPO has expanded its portfolio to launch the AX7, a new premium design smartphone packed with features at an affordable price. Including dual rear cameras, 16 mega-pixel front camera and 4230mAh battery for only £199, available exclusively at Carphone Warehouse.

The new device showcases an entirely new design for the A series, with a unique Waterdrop screen notch, a premium textured back cover and a Glaze Blue colour.

The launch is the latest handset in the best-selling A series, which includes the A3 and A5. The A3 introduced a smartphone with a big battery life at an affordable price and the A5 displayed fashionable new features such as the diamond-shaped texture to the back cover.

‘We’re excited to bring the A series to the UK with the launch of the AX7 exclusively available at Carphone Warehouse. The device is packed with great features.  Waterdrop Screen has been widely accepted as the most beautiful notch type smartphone in the market.’ said Neil You, Managing Director of OPPO Mobile UK.

Waterdrop Screen – inspired by nature

OPPO’s philosophy is that smartphones are not just a tool for communication but a work of art, which is shown through the AX7. The screen occupies almost all of display with the exception of a small ‘Water drop’ notch inspired by a water droplet.

The tiny water drop contains a 16MP front camera and sensors, giving the AX7 display the biggest screen to body ratio of the OPPO A series. With 6.2 inch HD+ Incell Screen, it sports a screen to body ratio of 88.4%, providing a more immersive user experience for playing games or watching videos.

Additionally, the AX7 comes with Corning Gorilla Glass, protecting your phone scratches and drops, to gives users greater protection and peace of mind.

Premium design – aesthetic at every angle

A true work of art; during development designers considered every detail including materials, textures and even the colours of the back cover.

The AX7 is lightweight, thin and comfortable when held in the palm of your hand. It also includes an industry first from the 3D heat curved sheet and Grain Pattern, giving the AX7 a premium look and textured feel.

Clearer shooting on both front and rear cameras

OPPO always strives to be at the forefront of innovation, to help bring people the best shooting experiences possible and with the AX7 there is no exception. Equipped with 13+2MP dual rear AI-enhanced cameras and a 16-megapixel front camera with F2.0 aperture set-up, it makes for selfies that are more outstanding.

It also adopts a wide-angle front camera, which is especially helpful when capturing group shots in a narrow space. AR Stickers are included, a feature that not only follows the movement of people’s faces but allows for more personalisation.

OPPO’s heritage in camera quality is driven by fine-tuning from expert image engineers, who use DSLR cameras as a benchmark and consult professional photographers to gain insight from their own experiences. The products are thoroughly tested in various locations, under different light conditions, with people of all skin tones, types and shapes to help design handsets that will meet everyone’s needs.

4230mAh powerful battery

Since the launch of the popular A3 and A5, which contained a 4320mAh battery and received praise for its long battery life, OPPO has worked hard to continue to provide better user experiences. With the AX7 it continues to deliver powerful battery performance with a 4230mAh battery, and thoughtful AI battery management. The battery life is preserved by freezing inactive apps and reducing excess caching, giving you more time to power through your day.

ColorOS 5.2 – smart and efficient assistant

Based on Android 8.1, OPPO takes the ColorOS 5.2 Operating System to a new level by offering an overall smarter, interactive experience.

Through the powerful “Smart Bar”, AX7 not only supports horizontal “full screen multitasking” but allows vertical full screen multitasking. The Smart Bar can be triggered by sliding at both sides. The Smart Bar also supports quick file sharing, screen recording, screenshots, and many other shortcuts.
