Using the Kit
Setting up the kit for the first time is really easy. Plug the smaller adaptor into a power point and connect it to your router and then plug the larger adaptor into a power point in the room you want to use it. Switch both power points on!
Install the dLAN Cockpit software on your computer and you should see both devices (as shown below). To make it easier for you to identify which device is which you have the option to name them, which is exactly what I did.
From the dLAN Cockpit software you can see if the devices are active and also the data transfer rate, in my case 129 Mbit/s. The devices are capable to speeds up to 500 Mbit/s but that is dependant on a number of factors, including your electrical wiring, so if you are not getting a really high speed try another plug socket. And remember, you have to plug the adaptor directly into a power point.
You can see and change the configuration of the adaptors very simply. These changes can include the WLAN settings, parental controls, and more.
There is also a free Android and iOS app that you can use to monitor your setup, and the app actually works very well. I would recommend setting up your kit using a PC rather than the app, but you could do it if you really wanted to.
