Huawei has announced that its Ascend P2 smartphone will be released in the UK next month. The Chinese firm unveiled its flagship Android device at the Mobile World Congress earlier this year, touting it as “the world’s fastest smartphone”.
Boasting a 4.7-inch HD display, the handset runs off a 1.5GHz quad-core processor backed up by 1GB of RAM and Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system.
Other features include a 13-megapixel rear camera, 1.3-megapixel front camera, a 2420mAh battery and 4G connectivity.
Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei consumer business group, said: “Ascend P2 is the perfect combination of elegance and power, and further proof that there’s no need to compromise when desiring a perfect smartphone.
“It is evidence of the outstanding smartphone experiences and great technology that we are committed to bringing to consumers globally.”
The Ascend P2 will compete with the Apple iPhone 5, Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One, and is expected to be priced between £350 and £400.
