Final Thoughts
If you have an iPad mini or an iPhone 5 there may be times you want, or need to have it sitting on a desk, for example if you are using FaceTime, and this is where the FrameShift comes in. You just put it on a flat surface, set the angle you want and then just place your device in it – simple! Then when you are finished you can either leave it for next time, or fold it back up. I found that it worked very well on both my iPad mini and iPhone 5 and it both portrait and landscape modes.
The FrameShift is designed and handcrafted in California by DARWINmachine. Units are custom fabricated and shipped within 2 weeks of order and the build quality is excellent The rubber padding works very well and protects your device for marks and scratches and they also help to keep the FrameShift in place.

The FrameShift is a great little stand, and it’s very lightweight so you can carry it around with you and use it in a variety of locations. I would highly recommend it to anyone, I just wish it was that little bit cheaper as some might be put off by the price for such a simple stand! It’s now a permanent fixture on my desk.
