ViridianPC announced a new cloud backup service called Virivault, powered by Amazon S3. While aimed at their Windows Home Server customers, it can also be used with NAS and PC units. Here is a little more information from their webpage:
Virivault is our online backup service. The backup client provides the facility to backup your server to both a local target on your network (such an a NAS or even a second server), and to secure off-site storage. The software can be configured with seperate backup jobs, so for example large volumes of data like a video collection can be backed up locally, where as smaller and possibly irreplaceable data like office documents and photos can be stored off-site.
The backup client even supports continuous backups, so files are copied to the off-site storage as they are created or modified for near-instant protection.
The off-site storage is provided by Amazon’s S3 cloud storage system, with storage facilities in North America and Europe.
You have the choice of locating your backup data in the US or Ireland, and pricing starts at £5 per month. If you are in the market for cloud backup, click here to check out Virivault.
