Boxee Box 1.2 Update Available Shortly

Boxee have also just announced that they will be releasing the Boxee Box 1.2 software update in the next few days.

The update will roll out over the next few days to all users and includes:

• Filtering premium sources in the library such as Vudu, HBO Go, etc
• New “Featured Apps” section
• Updated App categories
• NFS and AFP support (and improved SMB/CIFS support)
• Improved HTML5 support in the browser
• Support for OS X Lion as a source for video files
• Option to receive “Beta Releases” of the firmware

Networking & File Playback

1. Added support for Apple Filing Protocol (AFP)

Networking & File Playback

1. Problem with manually resolving a movie that has NFO file

5. “Resume playback from [end of video time marker]” shows up on videos that have been previously played all the way to the very end.

11. After clicking play (from paused state) the OSD should immediately disappear

13. Video file playing across network stops playing
14. Video files containing “@” in the file path are not identified

Apps

1. Videos on Vimeo do not play. and the device has to be restarted manually
2. Vimeo – couch mode freeze after 10-15 minutes of playback, also freeze for a long time between videos
3. API Command SeekTime() is not working

Libraries

1. SnagFilms Documentaries playback stops prior to loading 2nd commercial
2. Local TV shows take an extremely long time to load
3. Watched TV Show Trigger not working
4. Unable to remove a show from favorites when there is no content for the show

Browser

1. Default focus when getting to exit confirmation in browser should be Exit not Stay
2. HTML video tag causes page redraw issues… until video starts playing
3. http://tv.clicker.com crashes boxee browser
4. CNBC online video does not play
5. http://zattoo.com/view will not open in the browser

Localization

1. Localization: GERMAN Replace “Bewertung” for MPAA-Rating with “FSK”

Known limitations

1. Streaming to the Boxee client via Airplay from the app is limited to online content (cannot steam local content via Boxee Media Manager)
