This week I visited Amazon’s Christmas Wish List 2011 event, where they showed off all the tech, gadgets, toys and other stuff they think will be big this Christmas. Read on to find out what they think you want from Santa this year.
There were a number of different areas set up to look like open Amazon cardboard boxes, which was pretty cool. Each area was of a different shopping type, so for example Electronics, Toys & Games, Baby, Jewellery and so on. I’m not going to cover all of the areas, but there will be enough to show you just what to expect in December!
Some of the items on display are already available, and some are coming soon. All will be available for the Christmas period though, so it will be very interesting to see if Amazon got it right. Time will tell…… how many shopping days is it until Christmas?????
Oh, and since returning from the event I have already ordered a few of the items, but I’m not going to say what ![]()
Electronics
Obviously this is the area that I was first drawn to. The biggest item Amazon was talking about was the Kindle, obviously! The Kindle is a fantastic device and I personally can recommend to anyone. They had the devices and sleeves on display, and there are literally thousands upon thousands of books (some even free) to choose from. There are two different Kindles – the Wi-Fi version for £111, and the 3G version for £152.
There was also an assortment of software and other electronic devices, such as cameras, photo frames, TVs and Blu-ray players.
One item that really caught my attention was the Sagemcom Sixty Digital Cordless Retro Style Telephone. This retails for £99.95.
