The Restore Wizard found my server. Of course.![]()
Since the new hard drive had already been formatted, I used the Disk Manager to delete the existing partitions and set up the two I needed for the Restore.![]()
After about 25 minutes the Restore was complete and ready for good times.![]()
After a restart was brought on by Windows Update, I was ready for some speed trials. Boot time was now 45 seconds and the ATTO Benchmark was now twice as fast. Woo hoo!![]()
The ATTO Benchmark is just that, a benchmark, but it is a good way to compare apples.![]()
Overall I am very happy with this new drive and look forward to many years of service.

That is a great improvement over the old drive. However I am getting the same speeds with the new Samsung 2tb drives, about 130mb/sec read and write and they are only SATA II. Are the Samsung’s so good because they are advanced format drives?
