The Restore Wizard found my server. Of course.SATA III Hard Drive Upgrade for Project Lil Fusion

Since the new hard drive had already been formatted, I used the Disk Manager to delete the existing partitions and set up the two I needed for the Restore.SATA III Hard Drive Upgrade for Project Lil Fusion

After about 25 minutes the Restore was complete and ready for good times.SATA III Hard Drive Upgrade for Project Lil Fusion

After a restart was brought on by Windows Update, I was ready for some speed trials. Boot time was now 45 seconds and the ATTO Benchmark was now twice as fast. Woo hoo!SATA III Hard Drive Upgrade for Project Lil Fusion

The ATTO Benchmark is just that, a benchmark, but it is a good way to compare apples.SATA III Hard Drive Upgrade for Project Lil Fusion

Overall I am very happy with this new drive and look forward to many years of service.

  1. That is a great improvement over the old drive. However I am getting the same speeds with the new Samsung 2tb drives, about 130mb/sec read and write and they are only SATA II. Are the Samsung’s so good because they are advanced format drives?
