With the motherboard off to the side, the old drive from Lil Fusion was removed with just four screws and the two connections.![]()
It was only about a minute to install the brackets on the new drive. With the new SATA III WD drive installed it was time to put the motherboard back on.![]()
Once I connected the cables and checked all of the connections I pressed the power button and opened the tray for the Windows Home Server 2011 Restore CD.![]()
I also verified in the BIOS that the drive was recognized and that I was ready for the Restore.![]()
I inserted my USB drive with the Network drivers for Windows Home Server 2011 and booted from the CD.![]()

That is a great improvement over the old drive. However I am getting the same speeds with the new Samsung 2tb drives, about 130mb/sec read and write and they are only SATA II. Are the Samsung’s so good because they are advanced format drives?
