Final Thoughts
The VX6 is a really nice laptop, which a great screen and a really nice keyboard. I found it very comfortable to use.
The inclusion of USB 3.0 ports are a great touch – so many laptops still come with just USB 2.0 which really date them.
The HDMI port was a great addition as well – I hooked the laptop up to my TV and watched movies with no problems at all.
Battery life was pretty good – I didn’t quite get the 6 hours that ASUS claim, but you can extend the battery life by turning off various things and reducing the screen brightness. Or you can carry the power supply with you.
One thing I did notice was that the power supply got very hot, even after a short amount of use. I like that it is tiny thought, and it certainly is easy to carry around in your bag without really taking too much notice of it being in the way.
Another thing that is becoming more popular is the ability to charge USB devices from the laptop via USB even when the laptop is switched off.
The sound quality is really good on the VX6, but then you would expect that from the B&O speakers. Even for such a small laptop the sound is great!
It costs £499 including VAT, which for a 12.1” notebook with the number of ports on it is pretty good.
Don’t be put off by the ATOM processor though. Ok, this isn’t going to be the laptop for you if you are a hard-core gamer or you want to do a lot of processor intensive work, but if you want a good laptop for emails, surfing and watching movies on, then this is definitely one you should take a look at. Doubly so if you are a fan of Lamborghini.
