The Intercept glasses from GUNNAR have recently been released in a new colourway. Accordingly, I wanted to get in on the action, and they kindly shipped me a pair. The Crystal Cobalt design is an eye-catching option if you like to add some colour to your life without breaking the bank. These glasses form part of the signature range, so you get all the patented technology, health benefits, and more at an affordable price.
If you suffer from dry and itchy eyes, poor sleep, fatigue, or you feel uncomfortable in front of a screen, blue light protection glasses could be a healthy investment. Available for under $70, these glasses will improve your eye health in no time. The yellow-tinted lenses offer impressive blue light and UV protection. Moreover, they are durable, stylish, and comfortable. If you don’t fancy yellow-tinted lenses, you can order prescription, sunglasses, reading glasses, and a lighter blue light protection alternative. Therefore, there are plenty of choices with this frame.

What’s in the box of the Intercept glasses?
- The packaging is refined, durable, and easy to recycle.
- The Intercept glasses come in 3 colourways. The Cobalt blue is eye-catching, and the thick square frames have a classic and appealing look.
- A soft case is provided to keep the glasses safe.

Technical aspects.
The Intercept glasses with yellow-tinted lenses offer an impressive 65% blue light and 100% UV protection. This is great if you struggle with dry and itchy eyes, or any of the aforementioned health issues. Furthermore, they are great if you want to improve your productivity at work. The horrible contrast between white and black is reduced, and this lowers fatigue. If you are a gamer, you will feel the benefit as your reactions stay sharper for longer.
If you need prescription lenses, you can add +/-5 at checkout. Alternatively, you can increase your blue light protection with the sunglasses range. I wasn’t impacted by the yellow tint, but if you are a designer, you may wish to have a more natural look. This is where the 35% blue light lens comes to the fore.
GUNNAR offers patented technology to guarantee your eye health. Furthermore, the G Shield protection has anti-reflective technology that makes these fantastic if you love to stream. Your audience will appreciate the lack of glare and the clarity as they look at your face.

Build quality.
I was blown away by the build quality. The nylon frame material is hard-wearing, comfortable, and lightweight. Furthermore, the blue colour is fantastic. Although this is a little outlandish, I don’t think it is so extreme as to put people off. I appreciated the low-bridge design as this adapts to many face types. Furthermore, the multi-barrel hinges have some flex to reduce tension on your temples.
The square frame has a nice chunky appearance, and this makes the vibrant blue stand out even more. I loved the classic design, and I think it is a great gender neutral choice. Thankfully, the frames aren’t oversized, and this makes them ideal if you work in an office or you want to make a statement while gaming.

Are the Intercept glasses worth it?
The Intercept glasses are ideal if you want to improve your eye health without breaking the bank. They are stylish, comfortable, and perfect for long days at work or marathon gaming sessions. Although they don’t have the bells and whistles of other GUNNAR products, I think they are exceptional value for money. Finally, the new colourway is amazing, and I recommend buying them here!
