Connecting it all together
Depending on which version of the PS3 you have, select the correct fitment and clip it into the TwistDock.
Then take the power cable and fit the UK connector on the end.
Then plug that into the TwistDock as well.
Now just take your PS3 and put it into the TwistDock.
You can also charge your controllers. Just take one of the charging connectors and fit it to a controller via its USB port.
Then you just slot the controller onto the back of the TwistDock.
A beep signifies that the charging has started. And coloured lights on the front show the progress. Red is switched on, Orange is charging and Green is fully charged.
There is also a small panel that can be removed if you want to use the TwistDock CableSet to make everything neat and tidy.
The TwistDock CableSet
The TwistDock CableSet offers a set of high-quality cables for the TwistDock, which have been designed in such a way that they perfectly match the design. This only works with the PS3 Slim so I couldn’t actually test it, but it looks like a useful addition to me!
The TwistDock USB HUB
The TwistDock has four extra integrated USB ports with the TwistDock integrated USB Hub, which have a charging function as well as a data function. It is, for example, possible to connect an extra hard disk or other accessories to this hub.
Final Thoughts
This is quite a neat little device. You may be asking yourself why you would need something like this. Well the answer is simple – if you want something to make your PS3 with all its connectors and cables look neat and tidy and also make it easier to charge your controllers, then this is the gadget for you.
Having the ability to move the TwistDock to the left or right by 180 degrees means that it is always simple to gain access to any part of the TwickDock, including the rear USB ports and also the controllers if they are charging. So no more leaning around things and trying to guess where to plug things in!
It’s a shame that the CableSet only works with the PS3 Slim, as I really would have liked to have used that feature just to make all my cables neat. It goes a long way towards that all important wife acceptance factor.
Price wise, the TwistDock for PS3 retails for £49.95, the CableSet for £16.95 and the USB HUB for £19.95.
