Watch Kyrat in Far Cry 4 in all new PVP trailer

In “Battles of Kyrat”, the Far Cry 4 world is shown in a completely different way. The player’s battles take on the form of a re-telling of a long-past war that Pagan Min’s elite guard, the Rakshasa, fought against the Golden Path rebellion. Each faction has their own unique set of weapons and skills and players will have to adapt to their strengths and weaknesses while making their own progress within this multiplayer mode.

The Rakshasa are the mythical warriors of Kyrat with strong ties to their natural surroundings. They can call upon animals to help in both defending and attacking positions. The Rakshasa only use traditional weapons, specifically the bow, but are capable of crafting multiple alterations to their weapons. On the other hand, the Golden Path is all about its arsenal: guns, vehicles and tech-enhanced capabilities. They have access to a variety of weapon types, including assault rifles, shotguns, and multiple explosives. Finally, the Golden Path has access to bell towers, allowing them to spot the hidden enemy from far away.

The PvP mode consists of:

  • 5v5 round-based matches.
  • Asymmetrical gameplay where the players take on each faction. The team with the best overall performance on both wins the match.
  • 20 minutes average match length.
  • 10 maps at launch
  • 3 modes:
    • Outpost – the Golden Path works to establish an outpost in the region while the Rakshasa has to get rid of them and secure the outpost for Pagan Min.
    • Propaganda – the Golden Path has to destroy three Pagan Min installations while the Rakshasa protects them.
    • Demon Mask – both sides have to find the mask and return it to their home base.

In Far Cry 4 players will experience the most expansive and immersive Far Cry ever, in an entirely new, massive open-world. Players will find themselves in Kyrat, a breath-taking, perilous and wild region of the Himalayas struggling under the regime of a despotic self-appointed king. Using a vast array of weapons, vehicles and animals, players will write their own story across an exotic open-world landscape. Developed by Ubisoft Montréal in collaboration with other Ubisoft studios, Far Cry 4 will be available worldwide on November 18 for PlayStation®4 and PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Windows PC.

Interactive Entertainment and Monolith Productions today revealed new details about Lord of the Hunt, the first DLC expansion pack for Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, available for purchase and to Season Pass holders later this year. In Lord of the Hunt, Sauron has dispatched lethal Beastmaster Warchiefs to exterminate the monsters of Mordor. Talion will join Torvin the Dwarven Hunter and use his powers of Domination to turn these menacing new beasts against the Warchiefs, proving that Mordor cannot be tamed.

KOEI TECMO Europe has announce today that the tactical action game, DYNASTY WARRIORS 8 Empires will release on 30 January 2015 across Europe for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The PC (Steam) and PlayStation 3 via digital only versions will also be available at launch. The DYNASTY WARRIORS Empires series returns replete with new features including deep customization of warriors, horses and armies, or even the creation of an original character in dynamic battlefields that evolve with environmental changes.

Ubisoft has uncovered online footage of perhaps the greatest session of Assassin’s Creed four player co-op.

The video was posted online by an Xbox LIVE user with the name DavidAttenbro and features four players taking on one of the co-operative missions in the new Ubisoft videogame Assassin’s Creed Unity.

In the video posted on YouTube yesterday (29th October) , the users DavidAttenbro, MorganF Da Man, SchwarzeKiller and ChattyManAl69 navigate the rooftops of 18th Century Revolutionary Paris and attempt to break into a French aristocrat’s cavernous mansion in a quest to locate a valuable hidden painting.

Some experts are speculating that the voices in the video are in fact those of British naturalist David Attenborough, Hollywood actors Morgan Freeman and Arnold Schwarzenegger and British talk show host Alan Carr.

Others are speculating that the video is the work of renowned impressionist Terry Mynott, whose uncanny celebrity impressions feature in the recent Channel 4 series, The Mimic.

Ubisoft are unable to verify whether either of these are true but they can confirm that everyone will be able to enjoy the new co-op multiplayer mode in Assassin’s Creed Unity, when the game is released on Friday 14th November in the UK.

Ubisoft today has announced that The Crew second closed beta will take place from 6th November to 10th November on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Players willing to get involved in the beta can register on the waiting list here. Players who preorder The Crew on Uplay Shop will get a guaranteed access to the closed beta.

The closed beta will allow players to explore the entire United States and complete challenges in two of the five regions available in the game, the Midwest and East Coast. The Crew offers a truly enormous living, breathing open world with varied and detailed environments, full of activities to explore seamlessly either alone or with friends.

The PvP lobbies in the Midwest and East Coast regions will also be accessible for players who want to prove their competitive skills. For those who like to customise and fine turn their ride, two of the five spec classes, Street and Dirt, will also be available to players.

The closed beta will be accessible to all Xbox Live and PlayStation Network members, however some online features will require an Xbox Live Gold or PlayStation Plus membership.

Marvel announces 10 new movies over the next 5 years

Yesterday during a special event at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige revealed the films that will make up Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, featuring a mix of fan-favourite characters and several heroes who will be making their big-screen debuts.

The next two films to be released by Marvel are AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON on 1st May, 2015 but the UK get it early with a date of 24th April, and ANT-MAN on 17th July, 2015.

Marvel revealed the dates and titles of nine additional films through 2019, including upcoming Captain America, Thor, Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy installments, along with films featuring Black Panther who, Feige announced, will be played by Chadwick Boseman, Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange, and the Inhumans. If you been thinking about the Marvel universe then think again as Marvel has chalked up 10 new movies over the next 5 years for all the fans.

Activision and Bungie today announced that Destiny Expansion I: The Dark Below will be available for download on 9th December. The Dark Below marks the first expansion to the universe since Destiny‘s launch in September and features all-new weapons and gear to earn through new story, cooperative and multiplayer activities.

“Destiny was created as a living universe, which has allowed us to improve the experience post launch in real-time,” says Harold Ryan, President of Bungie. “It also gives us insight into the things players are looking for in new content. We’ve seen from feedback that people want new activities, gear and weapons, and of course the immensely popular Raid. The community helps shape our development decisions and that’s really important to us.”

Destiny Expansion I: The Dark Below will feature the following:

  • o   New weapons, armour, and gear to earn, including Legendary and Exotic items
  • o   Light Level cap raised to 32 and five additional Bounty slots added
  • o   New story quests and missions – after years hiding amongst the Hive shadows, a new character, Eris, has come forth bearing an ominous warning: The Hive seek to summon a god, Crota, to destroy the Earth.
