Ubisoft Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag has been given a new trailer. The latest Assassin’s Creed 4 video goes behind the scenes with members of the development team, who discuss their experiences working with the PS4.
[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dgb3VuRXh3Q?feature=player_detailpage%5D

Associate producer Sylvain Trottier highlights the visual differences between current and next-generation versions of Black Flag, before saying that the PS4 was custom built for the developers.

Meanwhile, creative director Jean Guesdon praises the system’s share button, which he believes promotes a connected experience.

Confirmed earlier this year, Assassin’s Creed 4 will be set in the Caribbean in 1715, with players taking control of Edward Kenway, the grandfather of Assassin’s Creed 3 protagonist Connor Kenway.

Said to be the biggest Assassin’s Creed game yet, it will feature 50 unique locations including the cities of Havana, Kingston and Nassau, as well as fishing villages, smugglers’ coves, plantations and jungles and more.

With Desmond’s story concluded, the player themselves will assume the hero in the present day setting, working for Abstergo and researching Kenway’s backstory.

Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag will release 1st November in Europe and 29th October  in North America on Xbox 360, PC, Wii U, the PS3 and PS4.

A closer look at the Acer Aspire R7 notebook with revolutionary Ezel Hinge (Photos and Video)

Last week in New York Acer unveiled their new Aspire R7 notebook with its revolutionary Ezel Hinge. We were there and managed to get a closer look at one.

CDW - Acer Apire R7 - 2

The Acer Aspire R7 lets consumers transform their notebook into the shape that best delivers animmersive content experience based on their usage needs. With four modes of operation, the R7 can easily be used as a traditional notebook, a table top pad, a display, or switched into “Ezel” mode, allowing the screen to float over the keyboard at various angles. This allows users to work where they want and how they want — seated or standing, at a desk or with it on their lap. The Ezel Hinge makes it easy to switch the display around, to touch or type while creating, browsing or sharing content. Dual hinge technology allows for single-hand switching between modes and keeps the display rock-steady when touched.

1. Ezel Mode – Reach out and pull the display closer, eliminating the need to reach across the palm rest and keyboard to use the touch screen. Just pull it up and out where it can be positioned in front of the keyboard, or float over it. By pulling the display close, switching between touchscreen, keyboard and touchpad is seamless.

2. Notebook mode – Slide the display back behind the keyboard, and you have a powerful, full featured notebook computer with a 39.6 cm (15.6”) Full HD 1920×1080 touchscreen display, Intel Core i5 processor, up to 12GB of memory, up to 1TB hard drive, or up to 256GB SSD and a full-size backlit keyboard. It also includes a volume control button, HDMI port, SD card reader, audio jacks, three USB ports, WiFi, Bluetooth and a convenient converter port supporting VGA, RJ45 and USB.

CDW - Acer Apire R7 - 15

3. Display Mode – Flip the screen over and it’s positioned perfectly for watching a movie, showing photos or giving a presentation. Sharing and collaborating is simple, enjoyable and straightforward. With Acer’s proven dual-torque design, the screen flips easily yet remains rigid when touched.

CDW - Acer Apire R7 - 6

4. Pad Mode – Simply pull down the touchscreen and lay it on top of the keyboard with the face up, and the Aspire R7 morphs into a pad, without giving up the robust performance of a notebook. The ergonomic 4-degree tilting angle makes it perfect for browsing, writing or drawing and ideal for pure touch interactions like casual gaming and annotating.

Are Amazon Working on a 3D Smartphone?

1

Rumour has it that Amazon is working on a smartphone equipped with 3D technology, according to a report.

The Wall Street Journal claims that the device is one of two handsets the online retailer is developing, citing “people familiar with the company’s plans”.

The 3D phone allegedly features hologram-esque imagery that can be viewed without glasses and technology that lets users navigate through content using just their eyes.

Amazon is rumoured to have been developing a Kindle-branded smartphone for some time, but such a device remains unannounced at present.

The company recently appointed former Windows Phone executive Charlie Kindel to work on a mystery project believed to be a Kindle smartphone, and is said to have acquired Siri rival Evi to support the venture.

Amazon is also said to be launching a set-top box that allows users to stream movie and TV content to their living room.

Meet Your Destiny New Details Appear

0
Bungie has updated the official website for Destiny, revealing a whole load of new information character classes, world and more.
destiny-concept-art-1
Perhaps the most interesting information comes in the description of the three classes: The Titan, Traveler and Hunter, each of which sound like they have their own unique abilities.
There still seems to be more information to come, with the site stating that it’s “awaiting reports from the Vanguard” on Mars and Venus.
No release date has yet been confirmed for the game, although we do know that it’s coming to PS4 and the next Xbox.
Here’s all the details:
Welcome to the Frontier: Our civilization once spanned the solar system. Its ruins are still out there: buried in the dunes of Mars, hidden in the jungles of Venus, lost in a wild and abandoned Earth. For centuries we’ve huddled under the safety of the Traveler, protected from our enemies. Now, a new era has begun, and the only hope for our future lies in unlocking the greatest mysteries of our past.
The Traveler: Everything changed with the arrival of the Traveler. Long ago, it breathed new life into our system and began our Golden Age. But it did not last. Something hit us. Knocked us down. Tried to stamp us out. No one knows exactly what, but we do know this: very few of us survived, and those who did owe their lives to the Traveler.
The City:In our darkest days, Humans, Exos, and Awoken found the Traveler where it made its last stand, low above Earth, silent and immobile. We built this City – our last – within its protective shields, fighting countless wars to keep its peace. From that dark age, the Guardians of the City were born.
Guardians: You are a Guardian of the last safe city on Earth, able to wield some of the Traveler’s incredible power. You are taking this mantle just as a new day dawns. Titans, Hunters, and Warlocks have finally returned to our long-lost worlds, only to find out we are not alone.
Warlocks: Warlocks have long studied the Traveler, mastering some of its arcane energies. Its true purpose still remains a great mystery, but discovering truth has always driven you into the unknown. Now, our enemies are the only thing that stands between you and the lost wonders of our Golden Age.
Titan: The first Titans built the Wall, and gave their lives to defend it. Now, you stand in the same high place, steadfast and sure, protecting all who shelter in your shadow. You hail from a long line of heroes, forged from strength and sacrifice. Our enemies may be deadly and merciless, but so are you.
Hunter: Hunters once prowled the wilderness and wastelands, taking big risks for even bigger rewards. You’re no outlaw-at least, not anymore-but making your own luck has always meant bending the rules. Your unique brand of daring and ingenuity is needed now more than ever.
Earth: The wilderness beyond the walls of the City are ruined and corrupted, claimed by nature and our enemies. From the war-torn fortresses of the Twilight Gap to the skyward steppes of Old Russia, evidence of our lost glory still litters the Earth, waiting to be rediscovered.
Moon: Early exploration attempts have proven too dangerous. The City has since classified Earth’s Moon as a Forbidden Zone Enemis: Beyond the safety of our Walls, strange and deadly enemies now occupy our old worlds. Every day they grow bolder, probing the Traveler’s shields for weaknesses, looking to stamp us out for good.
The Fallen: The Fallen are a scourge, tirelessly engaged in war against us and scavenging all that remains. They say their Houses have claimed every planet and moon we ever touched. If you see one in the wild, know there are many more nearby, and don’t hesitate to send their souls screaming into the black.
The Fallen Dreg: These relentless thieves seem driven by desperation and rage. They are crafty, but they usually give up their cover with their clattering and hissing. Most seem outfitted with some kind of shock dagger and pistol, and as far as we can gather, they seem to only have two arms, while other Fallen have four.
The Fallen Vandal: The truths about the Fallen chain-of-command are still making themselves known, but Vandals appear to hold a higher ranking than the Dregs, and deadlier weapons, too. They often have long-range capability, but, lucky for us, their weapons take time to charge.
The Fallen Captain: Fallen run in packs, led by an individual Captain. There is no denying a Captain’s might; they are the fiercest of the Fallen. There is this sense of tattered nobility to them. You can see it in the way they carry themselves. They think they’re better than us. They believe that Earth belongs to them.
Cabal: It’s been years since they first made their presence known at the Twilight Gap. While early reports have them centred on or around Mars, the true might of the Cabal is still wrapped in speculation. Awaiting more reports from the Vanguard.

Want to swim in a blood filled swimming pool for Resident Evil Revelations?

1

resi

Marking the release of Resident Evil Revelations – which sees a return to the survival horror roots of the series – Capcom are set to open a ‘blood’ filled swimming pool nestled in the shadow of the Olympic stadium, London, UK. In addition to its bloody appearance the swimming pool will offer floats in the form of human torsos, feature brains and intestines as lane markers, have Zombie lifeguards on duty and even offer a diving board in the form of a ‘freshly killed human corpse’.

Members of the public will be joined in the bloody red coloured water by terrifying sights like: floating eyeballs complete with tendrils and drifting blood clots. Whilst the dreaded swimming-pool-floating-plaster-situation we remember from our school days will be made even more disgusting with the use of bloody bandages. Zombie lifeguards will be on duty ensuring safety and enforcing a unique set of zombie pool rules. Zombie pool rules prohibit brain eating, bleeding or limb shedding in the pool. The public will need to collect any commemorative game merchandise they wish to keep from the bottom of the diseased pool, which will also be littered with bottles of both the T-Virus and Anti-Virus vials.

The Resident Evil Revelations blood swimming pool is set against the backdrop of abandoned cruise ship Queen Zenobia, where much of the action in Resident Evil Revelations takes place, with elements recreated in an East London canal side location.  All the expected swimming pool facilities will be provided on site with a bloody twist, and Capcom advise those who are not a fan of blood splatter on their towels bring their own. Brain swimming pool caps will be provided to all those who wish to swim in the pool with blood splashed goggles also available for loan.

The 16ft by 32ft pool is over one metre deep and contains an estimated 55,000 gallons of water (it would have taken the blood of 11,327 individuals to fill the swimming pool with human blood). Found a short stroll from Hackney Wick Station the open air pool is located in Jupiter Wharf, open to the public for two days on the 25th & 26th May. The blood red water has been created using a secret mixture of non-staining colorants specifically developed for the installation. Creating a unique and terrifying experience to mark the start of the open-air swimming pool season in the UK, the pool is only open to children aged 16+ and those under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Anyone wishing to swim in the Resident Evil Revelations pool will need to gain their free ticket in advance by visiting: www.residentevil.eventbrite.com. Ticket sales go live on Monday 20th May at 0900, with only 100 tickets available for each day.
