With the Honor 6+ coming exclusively to Three UK next month (May 2015) , last week I went hands on with the device.

The Honor 6+ packs a lot of great specs under the hood and that’s not just on paper, it actually translates to a great real life experience.

With a 5.5-inch full HD display at 401 ppi, the text are sharp, colours are reproduced accurately and it feels great to watch movies on the vibrant display. The Honor 6+ packs a 1.8GHz Octa-core processor coupled with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage with microSD expansion, dual lens 13MP rear cameras and an 8MP front snapper.

The processor speed has a very good response time when operating the UI and other intensive applications. With a 1.8GHz Octa-core processor uses Heterogeneous Multi-Processing, this processor efficiently use all the cores for managing your applications, for example when playing games, the bigger cores will handle the intensity while the little ones will handle simple tasks like opening your calculator app.

Using the 3GB of RAM for quick access and quick opening of applications, especially re-launching applications from the background.

If you are a big fan of good camera devices, then the Honor 6+ very good in low light situations, as most cameras are capable for general usage in good lighting conditions, it was important that it also handles low light very well.

The front facing camera is great if you are a fan of selfies and the primary lenses is very good, like when playing with the refocusing part of the camera operation.

With the Honor 6+ you can take your picture then refocus your objects after snapping your subjects, and this was very accurate, allowing you to tap to focus on any section of your image.

The Honor 6+ includes a Super Night Mode as well, which can take exposures up to 32 seconds in length, which should hopefully help create better low light photography.

It’s not well suited for taking quick snaps of your mates on a night out, the build quality is a impressive point to mention. It feels great to hold in hands and the bottom is curved to give your fingers a good cushion when holding it for a prolonged period of time.  The buttons are easy to reach even when in one handed operation mode.  It come with a 3,600mAh battery and although I didn’t spend enough time to see how the battery plans out, it should last long especially with an efficient processor.

At the time of writing only the black is coming out to the UK with other colours maybe coming in the future.

When it arrives in store, consumer will be walking about with Android 4.4.2 with Huawei’s Emotion UI 3.0.
