Desperados III, the upcoming real-time tactics game, was recently nominated as Best Strategy Game of E3 for the official Game Critics Awards. Although Desperados III is really breathtaking, it didn’t had a fair chance to win, as one of the competitors was the one and only John Wick. And everyone knows you shouldn’t mess with John Wick.

The Closed Beta will start on Tuesday, July 9th and will end on Sunday, July 21st. Out of all applications Mimimi and THQNordic will select 500 participants which will get the chance to play the game, which is entering the final stages of production.

Players can sign up for the Desperados III Closed Beta here: https://forms.gle/329bY5wwQmrvvLLu5

“This is not the a “pre order now to play the game before anyone – but we don’t really need you feedback because release is in just two weeks”-closed beta, people might be used to nowadays. We really want to invite the community to play the game while it’s still under construction and share their thoughts and wishes with us. And we want to have the time to react to the players’ input and to optimize the game together.” says Dennis Huszak, Narrative Director at Mimimi Games.

Desperados III will ride into the sunset on PC, PlayStation and your Xbox One in 2019.

Hunt: Showdown to Fully Release August for Xbox and PC, Arriving later for PS4

Today Crytek announced that their multiplayer bounty hunting game, Hunt: Showdown, will be seeing a full release on three major platforms this year. Hunt: Showdown for PC and Xbox will launch on August 27, 2019 for 39.99 EUR/USD. Meanwhile, PlayStation players will be seeing their own full release of the online game this Fall. In addition to this digital release, Crytek is partnering with Koch Media to bring the retail version of Hunt to stores worldwide.

Hunt: Showdown launched in Early Access on Steam in February 2018 and on Xbox Game Preview in May 2019. Both platforms allowed the Hunt team the unique opportunity to front a community-driven development process, by taking player feedback onboard and integrating it into the game’s development roadmap. Since that first release in February 2018, Hunt has seen nearly 20 updates and patches, including a new boss, a new map, two new times of day, additional AI, Quick Play, and more than a dozen weapons.

“Developing a game alongside such a passionate community has been so rewarding. It has taken us in new directions, and really inspired us to put everything we have into Hunt,” said Lead Hunt Producer Fatih Özbayram. “Now the time has come for the full release, and we couldn’t be more excited. We won’t forget the support this community has given us.”

As a thank you to that dedicated community, everyone who purchased Hunt during Early Access will receive an exclusive Legendary Weapon skin.

Meanwhile, Koch Media will be handling Hunt: Showdown’s physical distribution for PC, Xbox, and PS4, for all those players who want to own a physical copy of the game.

“Joining forces with Crytek for this amazing multiplayer game is exciting for everybody in the Koch Media family,” said Koch Media’s Head of Marketing Stephan Schmidt “The proven track record of the team in the FPS genre and the unique approach to multiplayer gaming gives us confidence that Hunt not only fits perfectly in our broad line up, but also serves a strong need in the market for fresh ideas. The close cooperation of the team with the community ever since the first release fuel the motivation of our global Koch Media teams, and we will support this title with all our experience in the retail market.”

Hunt: Showdown, a competitive first-person bounty hunting game, combines the thrill of first person shooters and survival games and packs those elements into a match-based format. Each match pits up to ten players—playing solo or in teams of two—against each other as they compete for bounty by taking out gruesome monsters in the swamps of Louisiana in what critiques have called a unique blend of PvP and PvE elements. But once players have taken a bounty, they instantly become a target for every other Hunter left on the map. The higher the risk, the higher the reward–but a single mistake could cost everything, and death is permanent. In Hunt’s Quick Play mode, ten solo players compete for the chance to keep their Hunter at the end of the match—and a considerable amount of gold.

For all the latest updates on the upcoming launch date, additional content, and the game’s roadmap, Hunt: Showdown can be found on DiscordFacebookTwitterInstagram, or the official game website https://www.huntshowdown.com/.

APEX Legends Season 2 has Begun!

Apex Legends Season 2 – Battle Charge – is here, and Kings Canyon will never be the same. Introducing a range of exciting new content and ways to play Battle Charge brings with it the first major map update to Kings Canyon, a new Legend, Wattson, the debut of Apex Legends Ranked Leagues,  an all-new Battle Pass, the devastating L Star LMG, and more.

After a shadowy figure brought down the Repulsor Tower, the Apex Games were forced to shut down for a brief period. During that time, the lack of the Repulsor Tower allowed beasts to once again take their natural place in Kings Canyon, and in doing so brought with them a level of destruction that has left certain areas of the map unrecognizable. Crews setup base camps and worked around the clock to repair the map, also taking this time to add new features to the arena, while the lack of Legends have allowed certain areas of Kings Canyon to stabilize and grow.

Battle Charge also sees the debut of the Apex Games newest Legend, Natalie “Wattson” Paquette. Daughter of the Games’ lead electrical engineer, Wattson fights in the arena she helped build, destroying incoming missiles, recharging shields, creating fences, and using her pylon to silence fights that get too loud. Nobody knows the arena better than Wattson, and anyone who underestimates her is in for a shock.
Season 2 will also bring the Apex Legends Ranked Leagues, where competitive players can go and test their skills while gaining recognition and rewards along the way. During Season 2, players will have the ability to climb six competitive tiers: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Apex Predator. As players ascend the ranks they will unlock exclusive cosmetics and rewards while also being able to see how they stack up against other Apex Legends players from around the world. Ream more about Apex Legends Ranked Leagues from the team at Respawn that designed it here.

With the introduction of fun Daily and Weekly Challenges designed to accelerate Battle Pass XP gains, three new content types including exclusive Legend emotes, even more Legendary skins, and the ability to earn enough crafting metals to unlock an additional Legendary item, the Battle Pass is back and better than ever! With more than 100 levels of exclusive content to unlock, players can now purchase the Season 2 Battle Pass for 950 Apex Coins. Those looking to get a jump on their Battle Pass progression can instantly unlock 25 levels by purchasing the Battle Pass bundle for 2800 Apex Coins. Head over to the Apex Legends Season 2 Battle Pass page to learn more about all the loot that awaits players this season.

Also new this season is the L Star, a rare and powerful LMG that fires large, high-damage plasma projectiles at shockingly fast rate, new hop-up’s, weapon attachments, and more ways for players to build the ultimate load out.

This is just the beginning, so squad up and get ready to shock the competition in Apex Legends Season 2 – Battle Charge – available now for PlayStation®4Xbox One, and Origin for PC.

PS Plus July Line Up UPDATE as Detroit: Become Human Deluxe Edition Replaces PES 2019 At Last Minute

Well this is certainly very interesting. Just as the PS Plus titles for July have gone LIVE, the PlayStation Blog has an article to explain why PES 2019 which was originally announced for PS Plus in July has been replaced with Detroit: Become Human Deluxe Edition at the last minute:

From the PlayStation Blog:

Update: We are making a swap to the PS Plus games lineup for July. This month, we are adding Detroit: Become Human Digital Deluxe Edition*, which also includes Heavy Rain (Beyond Two Souls**), to the July games lineup instead of Pro Evolution Soccer 2019. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Detroit: Become Human quickly became one of my top PS4 titles when it launched, an absolute masterpiece in immersive and emotional story telling where player choice truly matters in the narrative as AI servants slowly begin to become self aware and struggle to not only find their place in the world, but also their right to be free.

Horizon Chase Turbo continues to complete the PS4 line up for PS Plus but wow, what a last minute change and though it is not fully explained why the change has taken place, for me this is the strongest PS Plus entry in recent months.

You can our review of Detroit: Become Human here:

An active PS Plus subscription is required to get these games and they will be available from July 2nd to August 5th.

Cuphead DLC ‘The Delicious Last Course’ Delayed Until 2020 For Xbox One and PC

More imaginative, screen-filling bosses. Entirely new weapons & charms. And of course, another playable character – the lovely Ms. Chalice!

A cornuCUPia of fantastic action awaits in Studio MDHR’s Cuphead DLC pack, The Delicious Last Course. Coming to Xbox One and Windows 10 in 2020!

This DLC was originally intended for a 2019 release, however Chad Moldenhauer, the co-director of Studio MDHR explains the delay through Xbox Wire:

“While we initially announced a 2019 release date for the Delicious Last Course expansion, our highest priority is making sure this new adventure meets the meticulous level of care and quality we always strive for, we want to be absolutely certain that this next adventure feels at home in the world of ‘Cuphead’ and is full of moments that surprise and delight players. Furthermore, the development of the original game taught us a great deal about the importance of making things in a way that’s healthy and sustainable for our team.

We’ve learned so much about animation and really honed our technique during the development of Cuphead, so expect some particularly wacky and wild moments this time around! As well as a few surprises we aren’t prepared to talk about just yet.”

New Character Ms. Chalice will be able to double-jump and can be played throughout the entirety of Cuphead, not just the DLC. This will mean that players can revisit the rest of the game while playing as Ms. Chalice to experience it in a different way.

Cuphead is available now for Xbox One, Windows 10 PC and Nintendo Switch.

Refused is Officially the Sound and Voice of Cyberpunks 2077’s SAMURAI !

Cooperation with the acclaimed Swedish punk rock formation involves writing, recording, and producing an EP featuring the greatest hits of SAMURAI, with creative direction provided by CD PROJEKT RED’s composer team headed by Marcin Przybyłowicz. Tracks born from the partnership include ones both heavily inspired by the original source material, as well as original tracks created by the band exclusively for Cyberpunk 2077.

“I’m incredibly excited about having Refused on board for Cyberpunk 2077,” said Marcin Przybyłowicz, Music Director, CD PROJEKT RED. “I know for a fact there are a lot of fans of the band at the studio, including Piotr Adamczyk, one of the composers working on the game, who came to me with the idea for this collaboration. I’m very happy he did, because the massive riffs, powerful drums, and hard-hitting vocals the guys from Refused deliver as SAMURAI have blown me away,” added Przybyłowicz. “I can wholeheartedly say the punk factor of Cyberpunk 2077’s music is through the roof!”

“Like us, SAMURAI is a group of rebels, albeit in a different time and place,” said Dennis Lyxzén, Lead Vocalist of the band Refused. “Working together with CD PROJEKT RED, writing music and song lyrics for Cyberpunk’s chrome rock icon was fun, but also very different in the creative sense. It was an unexpected challenge that turned out to be right up our alley and really got us going. The songs turned out great and the game looks insane,” added Lyxzén.

Gamers worldwide already got a taste of Refused’s work for CD PROJEKT RED’s upcoming open world, action adventure story, with SAMURAI’s Chippin’ In concluding the E3 2019 Cinematic Trailer for the game. Today, to celebrate the announcement, SAMURAI’s iconic track has been made available across select digital stores and streaming services.

Cyberpunk 2077 is currently available for pre-order. The game is coming to PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on April 16th, 2020.
