Yakuza Series Xbox Game Pass Announcement Trailer

This news blew the audiences mind as SEGA of America and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio revealed that Yakuza, the series that took the West by storm, smashed its head through a window, then took it out for drinks and sang karaoke with it, is finally headed to Xbox One and Xbox Game Pass in early 2020! That is just huge, as a big fan of this former PlayStation exclusive series, to finally come to Xbox so its magic can be experienced by even more people is just incredible. With just the first remastered titles announced for now, I can really see the rest of the series being added at some point!

Classic Final Fantasy Games Announced for Xbox Game Pass in 2020

The Yakuza news was incredible, but to then follow it up with the announcement that Final Fantasy is coming to Xbox Game Pass and not just one or two games, but all the remasters is just staggering and for me as a Final Fantasy fan…all the streaming will be done!

West of the Dead Announcement Trailer

This was the second game that immediately won over the crowd as West of The Dead was revealed. In the Game you are plunged into an inferno of gun smoke and darkness in the twin-stick cover shooter West of Dead. The game takes place in Purgatory, a place of sin and damnation, wendigos and witches.

Rust – Xbox One Teaser Trailer

The popular PC title Rust has been announced as coming to consoles with a little Xbox One teaser trailer. Facepunch’s hugely popular and brutal online survival game Rust is making its way to Xbox One in 2020.

My Final Thoughts…

Ok so I am going to be a little biased here, as I was at X019 for the opening night and Inside Xbox show, but believe me, this show had every fan on their feet as the show came to a close. The focus on making Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (Which has Xbox Game Pass, Xbox LIVE Gold and Xbox PC Game Pass under one subscription) the must have thing right now was obvious but what they are bringing to the service with it is incredible, I mean Yakuza alone is staggeringly brilliant but all those Final Fantasy Titles just…wow.

I was expecting like many others to have some more details on Xbox Scarlet possibly teased but, by focusing on what you can have now and to look forward to made this LIVE Inside Xbox something very satisfying. Project X Cloud being increased to 50 games from 25 is incredible and everything I have tested and heard from fellow beta users is showing how exceptional this service is becoming. All the new titles like RARES EverWild and West of the Dead really excited me and having HALO Reach for Christmas period is a joyful thing for me.

Xbox is heading into the next generation of consoles on a flying magic carpet of brilliance right now and with yet another brilliant deal for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for 3 months at just $1/£1 and now revealing that if you take up that deal as a new subscriber, you will also get one month of EA Access, 6 months of Spotify Premium and Discord Nitro, something for the Xbox PC Game Pass community, is crazy silly value for money.

I will be heading back to X019 for the Saturday afternoon session to really enjoy the event and try out some games but oof, what a way to kick off X019 London!

Carrion Launching on Xbox One in 2020!

0

Phobia Game Studio and Devolver Digital have announced uncomfortably squishy horror game Carrion will stalk its prey on Xbox One alongside PC when it launches later next year. Revealed at E3 2019, Carrion immediately became one of Devolver Digital’s most anticipated games garnering award nominations and ritual sacrifices in its unholy name.

Carrion is a reverse horror game in which you assume the role of an amorphous creature of unknown origin. Stalk and consume those that imprisoned you to spread fear and panic throughout the facility. Grow and evolve as you tear down this prison and acquire more and more devastating abilities on the path to retribution. It’s so gross, y’all.

Carrion will be playable at X019 in London November 14-16

Review: Carbon Copy Clone 5 for Mac

0

Here is our review of Carbon Copy Clone 5 for Mac.

Using Carbon Copy Cloner 5 is really simply. Select what you want to backup, where you want to back up to, and set a schedule if you want to. It’s as simple as that!

Depending on the size of what you want to backup, the overall process is actually very fast, much faster than using Apple’s Time Machine functionality. When performing further backups, only new and changed files are backed up making the whole process super quick. It’s also very easy to exclude files and folders with a simple click.

You can choose to back up to an external drive or even another Mac if you so wish. The entire process guides you through what you need to do.

The SafetyNet function is a really useful feature – having copies of recently changed and deleted files, just in case, means that no matter what happens you will always have everything!

I really liked that I could quickly and easily boot up from my backup – thankfully I haven’t had to do that for real yet, only for review purposes.

There are numerous other features within the application, including the ability to email reports, look at each drive, view the history of what you have done and so much more. Even if you only want the ability to backup your Mac this software is amazing, add to that all the additional features and this is one piece of software every Mac owner should have!

Carbon Copy Cloner 5 is available now priced around £30 (subject to currency rates) and there is a 30 day trial available as well. If you already own Carbon Copy Cloner 4 there is a discount for upgrading. Give it a try, you won’t go back to Time Machine.

You can learn more and purchase Carbon Copy Cloner 5 from the Bombich website.

New Trailer for Sonic The Hedgehog Movie Reveals Redesigned Sonic!

The reaction to the original trailer for the Sonic the Hedgehog Movie was….yeah, it was not good. In fact it was received so terribly by fans that not only did the director respond by saying they would be completely redesigning the character model to be more like the video game Sonic, but the film itself was delayed until February 14th 2020….and it was worth it, this new trailer with brand new Sonic looks way better!

Sonic The Hedgehog is speeding to theatres for a big screen adventure for the whole family! Watch the new trailer now, and #CatchSonic in theatres February 14!

Based on the global blockbuster videogame franchise from Sega, SONIC THE HEDGEHOG tells the story of the world’s speediest hedgehog as he embraces his new home on Earth. In this live-action adventure comedy, Sonic and his new best friend Tom (James Marsden) team up to defend the planet from the evil genius Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) and his plans for world domination.

We Happy Few’ Final DLC Announced with ‘We All Fall Down’

0

Gearbox Publishing and Compulsion Games today announced We All Fall Down, the conclusion to their drugged-out dystopian adventure, We Happy FewWe All Fall Down stars Victoria Byng who is on a mission to rid Wellington Wells of the psychedelic drug, Joy, and free the people from their drug-induced prison. This expansion introduces additional combat options and rooftop traversal players can use to out-maneuver the authorities as they make their way around the city. We All Fall Down will launch on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on November 19, 2019, for a suggested retail price of $7.99.

We All Fall Down returns to We Happy Few’s dark origins, but burns it all down in spectacular fashion. Starving like the rest of the people, Victoria wrestles with her own withdrawals as the city slides deeper into Joy shortage and disorder. Victoria has always helped to keep things proper, but the closer she looks, the deeper the rot seems to run.

To free the city from Joy, players will strategically maneuver around the city’s rooftops, take up arms against the Bobbies, and expose citizens to their dismal truth. Victoria can whip foes in a snappy take on combat or silently take out enemies with the new dart gun. Stealthy players can climb around the rooftops, adding more variety to We Happy Few’s gameplay. We All Fall Down focuses on storytelling and fast-paced action without including the survival mechanics found in We Happy Few.

We All Fall Down offers the best way to experience We Happy Few to date:

  • Tour Wellington Wells at its absolute most dire
  • Crack the whip across the face of your foes in a snappy take on combat
  • Take the stealthy route with a shocking dart gun
  • Climb across the rooftops in a stealthy spin on We Happy Few exploration
  • Stick it to the system swiftly – there’s no time for eating, sleeping, and crafting while the world falls apart

Players who purchased We Happy Few’s Season Pass will have access to the We All Fall Down expansion at launch. Those who did not purchase a Season Pass can visit:

For more information about We Happy Few and We All Fall Down, become a fan on Facebook, subscribe on YouTube, follow We Happy Few on Twitter and Instagram, and join the conversation using the hashtag #WeHappyFew.

Special Look at The Mandalorian with New Trailer

The day has finally arrived….as long as you live in the US that is, as the Disney + Streaming service goes LIVE today. To mark the occasion and to build more hype for when The Mandalorian series launches on the service tomorrow, a special look trailer showing an incredible scene has been released:

It is painful knowing that we here in the UK as well as some EU regions will have to wait a very long time to have the service on March 31st 2020, so the long 5 month mission to avoid spoilers pretty much begins now….no, YOU’RE CRYING!!

Review: The Outer Worlds

Ever since it was announced that Obsidian where working on a brand-new game, my gaming spider-sense started tingling especially when that new game had an announcement trailer which looked like they were making their very own Fallout style game. The team behind Fallout: New Vegas were working on a game that would move away from the post-apocalyptic universe of Fallout and go to the stars in a fresh space sci-fi themed game whilst retaining all the things fans have loved about their Fallout entry.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3AI_u_0oJRQ

The Outer Worlds places you the player as one of thousands of colonists on board the colony ship ‘The Hope’ which was lost in transit bound for the furthest edge of the galaxy. A mysterious stranger revives you and, in a panic, launches you in an escape pod in the hope of meeting his contact on the planet below with the goal of helping the stranger find a way to revive everyone else on The Hope in order to save the Halcyon galaxy.

On the run up to release, everything about The Outer Worlds made it seem like the Fallout game that everyone wanted and deserved but Bethesda had failed to deliver and when you do fire up and jump into the game, you simply cannot escape just how Fallouty it feels. But thinking that this game is simply a prettier copy of say Fallout 4, the most recent Fallout title because Fallout 76 really REALLY does not count, is a huge disservice to what Obsidian has managed to achieve with The Outer Worlds. So much of this game takes anything you would know from a Fallout experience and completely spins it on its head to deliver quite frankly, my 2019 GOTY experience.

It really doesn’t take long for The Outer Worlds to shake off the obvious comparisons with Fallout as within minutes of taking control of your own customised character, all you need to do is two things, look down then look up. By looking down you immediately get the tone of the humour that The Outer Worlds as you discover that the very contact that the mysterious stranger, Phineas Welles, has sent you to meet. However, stepping out of the escape pod and looking down, and you discover the squashed remains of that very contact underneath the pod, in fact only the legs are sticking out like the wicked witch of the west in the Wizard of Oz. It is quite an introduction to the world and is a sense humour I really liked even more as its threaded throughout the game in the characters you meet, companions that join you and in all the missions both main story and side quests you pick up along the way. This is just a game full of worlds that are just fun to explore and experience.

Looking up at the same moment reveals how astonishing the visuals are in The Outer Worlds, and I mean this game is just gorgeous on the eyes especially on the Xbox One X. Looking up into the sky and seeing planets, moons and space craft is impressive alone, but the colour schemes are so vibrant from the environments, to the wildlife and the structures that everything really just pops right off the screen. I just really love the sci-fi setting over the post-apocalyptic setting of Fallout and it immediately lifts every location you visit through the story campaign. The diversity between the different places you will visit as well as you move from world to world completing missions shows the depth of design Obsidian has gone to into making this galaxy feel like a genuine collection of living breathing worlds and people.

Everything about the Outer Worlds is just so lovingly polished right down to amour and weapon design to the excellent animations in cut-scenes with some of the best facial animation that compliments the tremendous voice acting of all the NPCs you meet on your journey but especially when it comes down to your companions. Having a travelling companion is nothing new to Obsidian or to Fallout fans, but what has changed is that the companion system is far more in tune with the MASS Effect style of using companions, which for The Outer Worlds is perhaps the highlight of the game for me. Like MASS Effect, you will meet a variety of people and some will even other to help you on your travels whether it is just to help you out on a mission or in the hopes you will in turn be able to help them out which leads to having a companion quest for each of them who join your crew. These can really be very fun side objectives and depending on whether or not you actually take them on and then how you complete them will help them fulfil their own goals and improve their relationship with you. Some can be short whilst others can be very interesting multi-step missions that will require visiting new worlds. The companions are so well written and performed by the cast that despite this being the first time ‘meeting’ them so to speak, I connected to all of them as though we had spent more than a single game travelling together, especially Parvati voiced by Ashley Burch who Borderlands fans will instantly recognise as Tiny Tenah, who is just so wholesome and lovely as the first companion you meet that it just connects you right away to the heart of the game.

The RPG elements work exceedingly well as you not only use XP to gain levels in order to upgrade your skills but also to unlock perks for your character as well as all the companions who will all level up even if they are not selected for your active party making the option of switching party members depending on how their own skills can augment your own or just to help out on a particular mission. You can choose their chosen weapons and armour as well so the level of team management and how you upgrade their perks is such a great element to have. But when it comes to how you tailor your character’s skill set is where this game comes to life. No matter which style of play you want to use, the skill and perk trees allow you to explore a single style or a mixture of a few and just as the launch trailer shows, you can be an assassin, a criminal, a gunslinger, a hero or a bad guy. The game facilitates any wish you want and the quests be it a main story or a side story, allows for a such a freedom of choice that almost everyone you make will impact the very worlds you visit, good or bad it will be up to you and it will make you want to replay the game perhaps to make a different decision or change how you treat and deal with a companion.

The Outer Worlds is simply an incredible game that took everything they knew about Fallout and evolved it into something very new and brilliant whilst looking to other game series to bring their sci-fi vision to life. It has left behind all the failings of Fallout and given fans of that series and Obsidian something truly remarkable to lose yourself in. In the forty plus hours that it took me to complete my first run on hard, the moment the credits finished rolling I immediately jumped back in to start another run and I am planning to attempt the more perma-death focused ‘Supernova’ difficulty for my time off at Christmas. There really is not downside to playing this game and it has all the making of the start of a fantastic series for Obsidian. Plus, if you have Xbox Game Pass you can play this right now, which alone is a very good reason to go play in this majestic sci-fi adventure.

Play this now, you will not regret it.

A Closer Look

Final Thoughts

The last thing you ever want is a broken controller and no replacement, but some controllers are rather expensive to replace.

Along comes the Gioteck VX4 Premium Wireless Controller and it not only works very well, it’s also reasonably priced.

The controller itself looks very similar to the official PS4 controller and handles just as well. It feels very comfortable in your hands. The only comment I would make is that the triggers can feel a little stiff at times.

The VX4 comes in either a wired or a wireless version, in the case of this review we had the wireless version. It was very easy to sync up to the PS4 and get going with it. The same can be said for syncing it up to a PC – both were quick and easy to do.

The controller comes in black, red, silver and blue, so you have your choice of colours.

If you are looking for a reasonably priced, good quality controller for use on a PS4 and / or a PC, then take a look at this one – it might just be your next one!

The Gioteck VX4 Premium Wireless Controller for PS4 and PC is available now priced around £34.99 depending on the version you want.

Need for Speed: Heat Out Now!

Today, Ghost Games, a studio of Electronic Arts Inc. have announced Need for Speed Heat is available worldwide on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Origin for PC. Need for Speed Heat sends players to Palm City, a brand-new open world where street racers choose their way to play; earn Bank in sanctioned events by day, or risk it all to build Rep in underground races by night. Big risks could mean big rewards, it’s up to the player to make the call.

“At its core Need for Speed is about custom rides, adrenaline-filled races with cops and without them and showcasing the latest in car customization. With Need for Speed Heat we’ve dialed those core tenants up and dropped them into a vibrant new world,” said Riley Cooper, Creative Director at Ghost Games. “Heat offers two firsts for the series including a unique day and night cycle that offers players two ways to play, and customizable avatars so they can express themselves beyond just their wheels.”

In Need for Speed Heat, players can drive the hybrid-electric performance, Polestar 1, for the first time ever, as well as some of the most iconic car brands in the world, see the full list here. The game also offers the deepest customization the series has ever seen, including a range of options for both performance and style, which gives players the tools they need to create their perfect high-octane, anything-goes, dream car. Additionally, as another first for the franchise, Need for Speed Heat features character customization, giving players 12 preset avatars to choose from to further adapt their own style. Clothing and accessories from PUMA, Life’s a Beach, End Clothing and other well-known brands, ensure that players will be going full throttle with the latest fashion when they hit the streets of Palm City.

Need for Speed Heat also introduces players to a bright, new urban environment that becomes a dangerous neon playground once the sun sets. Taking inspiration from Miami – a vibrant city with a multicultural blend of music, cool street art and stunning night lights – Palm City is a street-racer’s paradise. Day and night are at the core of progression in Need for Speed Heat. During the day, players race in a series of sanctioned events to build Bank. Review: NordVPN

Here is our review of NordVPN.

This is how it is described:

“Imagine VPN as a secure, encrypted tunnel for online traffic to flow. Nobody can see through the tunnel and get their hands on your internet data. NordVPN gives you peace of mind each time you use public Wi-Fi, access personal and work accounts on the road, or want to keep your browsing history to yourself.”

Servers, data, and privacy

NordVPN is one of the few VPN providers that have such a huge and diverse collection of servers around the globe (5500+ servers in 60 countries, and the number tends to grow every week!). The service operates from Panama, which ensures a privacy-friendly jurisdiction with no data retention law. Because of the latter, NordVPN features a strict no-logs policy. PricewaterhouseCoopers AG, Zurich, Switzerland has performed an industry-first audit on the company’s no-logging claims and confirmed them. That’s how serious NordVPN is about its business.

NordVPN doesn’t track, gather, or share any private data of its users and their activity online. The service requires just as little as your email address and billing information for payments and refunds. The rest is yours and yours only — that’s why it’s called personal information.

In addition, the encryption used by NordVPN isn’t just any encryption. With NordVPN, users’ online data and traffic get protected by 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard. The same AES is used worldwide by governments for securing classified information and is said to be virtually uncrackable. Impressive, right?

Quick & easy

Downloading the application, launching it on the computer and signing in for the first time takes only a minute or two. Once the app is active, you can choose from a great variety of servers tagged on the map. You get connected to a selected server in a blink of an eye. It’s that easy.

Having some unforeseen issues? NordVPN customer service provides assistance 24/7. You can have a live chat with an always-ready-to-help agent, email them, or try to find the answer in the help center. They are so nice that the company won the Best Customer Service award in 2018.

Security for every device out there

You can download and set up NordVPN on a wide range of platforms from Windows and macOS to Android and BlackBerry, including some less known ones. Not many VPN providers allow their users to simultaneously connect up to six devices with a single account. NordVPN does! You can now secure your computers, smartphones, tablets, smart TVs, and other devices with one account.

A little tip: once you connect your router to NordVPN, it protects all the smart devices on your network. It uses only a single space out of the six available but provides security to all the gadgets connected. With one account and multiple connections, NordVPN grants maximum protection to all your office or household devices.

Extra features

NordVPN has some nice and handy additional features for extra security to your data and connection.

Automatic Kill Switch by NordVPN is a mechanism that terminates your device or your specified apps from accessing the web when the VPN connection drops (this may happen because of poor internet connection or software interference). This way, NordVPN secures your sensitive private data from accidental exposure.

NordVPN offers its users Double VPN solution for high-level online privacy and security. Double traffic encryption, maximum security level, IP protection, and complete confidentiality are what you get with this thoughtful feature.

In addition to NordVPN’s unbreakable encryption and secure access to the internet, you get CyberSec attribute which when enabled automatically blocks suspicious websites and protects you from annoying advertisements, malware and other kinds of cyber threats that could compromise your privacy online.

Speed

NordVPN is committed to giving you both privacy and speed, and that’s not just an empty promise. Their high-speed security experience was approved by Speedtest. However, sometimes connection might be not as smooth as needed for servers get overcrowded. Simply pick another server or location closer to you and enjoy uninterrupted browsing and continuous streaming.

NordVPN protects your IP address and makes sure that no one else can see which websites you visit or what files you download.

One NordVPN account enables you to protect up to six devices, including Windows, Mac, iOS, Android and even Android TV! For this review, we are using the Mac version of the app.

You can choose from over 5100 NordVPN servers in 59 countries very easily.

You can choose to automatically launch and run NordVPN when your computer starts, or you can just launch it whenever you need it. Whether you choose to launch automatically will depend on where you use your devices.

You can also choose to connect to trusted networks automatically and which country you want to connect to – all very easily.

There are even options you can choose showing we the application appears.

In terms of using the app and connecting to a server it really is as simple as clicking on or selecting a country and that’s it – you are connected and most importantly, you are protected. And having the ability to have it connect automatically so you don’t forget is really useful too.

You can sign up for a month, a year, 2 years or 3 years, the choice is yours. The prices start from £2.82 a month for a 3 year plan. The most expensive option is 1 month option at £9.68 per month. NordVPN often have great deals going on so make sure you check out their website. Whichever plan you choose, NordVPN offers a 30-day full refund guarantee.

NordVPN is a fantastic offering and if you are serious about protecting yourself whenever you go online then NordVPN is a must! There’s nothing else that really needs to be said, 12 million users cant be wrong.

You can learn more about NordVPN and purchase the service from their website.
